CLC to offer WR as a kit?
Great video Alan, John Harris is far too modest. As a designer, all his boats are not only beautiful, great preforming crafts, but his genius has allowed regular folks to forge their own adventure. I could not agree more with his assessment on where watercraft is heading in North America.

I built a cls pea pod, the love of my life!
My uncle George Skerry (Lot 16) used to build boats - I remember well the excitement of launching day --all us kids running behind the big fishing boat being hauled by a tractor down to the shore - it was very exciting!! I remember watching the keel go in to this huge container filled with steam when we'd visit our uncle in his shop-- this was to curve the keel for the bow - really wish we'd had cameras back then but we were young...and poor...we lived down the road from my Aunt and Uncle - she knit mittens and hooked rugs, he built boats and carved decoys which are extremely rare and valuable now. Oh wow - thanks for triggering some memories - loved the video as always!!

I built their CLC teardrop camper. Also, I built the Eastport Nesting Pram from plans. I decided to build the teardrop, because I built a couple of kayaks, from a different company, that use the stitch and glue method of construction. Why not a camper! I have to admit, it is an addicting process. CLC’s customer service is great also.

I built a CLC Sassafrass 16 Canoe years ago, and still use it regularly and love it. A great company, with great designs.

I took last year off from being on the water with any of our watercraft. I expected to use at least the kayaks, but that did not happen. My 19' O'Day and 22' Capri are on trailers in the yard. My Catalina 310 is on its stands in my yard since 2021. I planned some refitting (mostly done now) and working at my "retired mode" pace. The costs for the marina and storage do add up for the Catalina 310, but I want to use it to forge my adventures during the next ten years or so.
When forging your own adventure, you are most likely underway and using your anchor rather than marinas. Marinas and mooring fields can really soak up your funds. That and maintenance on larger boats
@@RoversAdventure - My adventures are short ones. But as time goes by, the adventure lengths have been increasing.
I have found that solo sailing gets me out much more than trying to coordinate with someone else.
@@jepomer absolutely! Too difficult to coordinate schedules,weather, etc. I enjoy solo sailing and I can share it with the Rover community via UA-cam.
Almost bought one of their kayak kits. Still might when I want to make a change in my kayak. Awesome place.

I think she is a game changer for this end of the market. Super safe and very ocean capable, yet would serve well for coastal and inland waters. Affordable with a modest budget and easy to build, especially with your vast instructional videos on Utube. I really would love to build one, she ticks all my boxes. Maybe if I rob a bank, just a small bank😉. Anyway, looking forward to enjoying your adventure.

As much as I'd love to do that, after the second boat my partner will ensure I'm sleeping in the pile of boats instead of inside.

I hope that if Wave Rover gets a CNC pattern it would be avaliable for purchase. I live on the opposite side of the world but could contract a local cnc shop.

That was a great video, wish it was longer. My father use to repair wooden fishing boats, he had a grade 4 education. But he could repair almost anything! I helped him build a 14' row boat,I learned a lot from him. I would love to build another small sailboat around 16-18' . What is your sailing plan, going south for the winter? From the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦

Once the WR kits are for sale, would CLC have estimated time to build the kit to completion, that is strictly build only
I don't think that they could provide that info. Based on my own experience. Without a kit the hull and deck could be completed in about 4-5 months.
Howdy, been building Michalak a Bolger boats. Rumour has it that John Harris is a Bolger disciple, if that's true God Bless him. I like your Autumn Leaves model, but there is one prototype on your website, kinda hard to find, called Pocket change. I hope you offer these plans for sale some time, otherwise I have to "back engineer it."

I just left a few days ago and flew home to PEI for Christmas. I'll be back after winter to continue the adventure. I will be giving a big update on next years program in a few weeks.
