Yea because these lights are standard they're super popular and they last FOREVER, so people who buy them typically hold onto them...for eternity... I would recommend going to the used buying website that's in the description and then call their number (pyramid film's number) and ask them if they have any or when they're getting more in stock and they will take care of you, they're way good people and you will score a ridiculously LOW price on these lights. Or check out bhphotovideo to buy new!

Awesome vid for people to get an idea of what the light is about. But Just for the record the “rope tie” is for cable relief so all the pressure isnt on the directly on the point the light exits the light. Felt the need to say it because you will extend the life of your EXPENSIVE light, figured id pass on the tip

A family owned company since 1927. Since this was made LED has taken the industry by storm so the used old school tungsten lights are more available. LED are lighter, cooler but just as high quality

hey man. If it's so hot while in use how come the color gel filters you put on the front don't get burned?

The short answer is that (professional) gels/diffusion are designed for this purpose, to withstand the heat of tungsten fixtures.
That said you should always keep an eye on your gels because hotspots can damage the sheets over extended use.

can you suggest any brands for the higher quality gels? I bought some and accidentally melted one of them on set and really need to invest in the higher quality ones. Thanks in advance.
