I’ve been using a dedicated car dryer, metrovac master blaster for over 5 years. It has more power than the ones you showed and is safe/effective. No drying towel has touched my car. Only downsides are price, noise (use ear protection) and need for dedicated 20 amp circuit.
Crikey sounds powerful
I actually have the same blower, albeit from another brand. It's quality stuff and does the job perfectly. You forgot to mention it can blow hot air as well. At least mine does. I don't really use it that much on my car. But on my motorcycles it's become my go to tool. Especially on older air cooled engines. Ear protection is definitely required.
Didn't forget, I put it in the comparison box I just didn't want to repeat myself
Thanks Dave, short but sweet video and I’m liking the size of that blower as it’s not to beastly in size
It's so powerful for something so small. I think I'll be using it way more than my Hyundai for blasting out dirt for the interior. It will save me a lot of time
I've used the Bruhl Dryers for years! I started with the single Turbine Dryer, and then a couple of years later, I gave it to my son, and I upgraded to the Twin Turbine Dryer. I cannot fault them in the slightest! Please consider checking them out and / or comparing them?
This is the one thing I havent got yet. Seen a lot of them but never decided which to get though this looks good. Iv used my pc blower I use to clean my desktop pc lol. Handy for mirrors etc
It's not essential for everyone but for unit based detailers or any business that's offering a premium instead of a basic wash would definitely benefit from one
Can you do a vid on the handheld version asap please. I think these are the same as the Blo Air Machines just rebranded?
They look the same mate but I can't 100% say because I don't know the spec of the blo air gt
@@epicautomotivedetailing I did a comparison and I think they are. Just a few subtle differences like cable length on the handheld.
Was looking at this just the other day buying one pay day as I’m sick of water in the mirrors and grills etc
Will you be doing a review on the handheld Rokit? I'm thinking of an early Christmas box... for me... 😂
Yes Im hoping to release video in late autumn 🍁
Did you try using a wireless leaf blower? They are amazing! Just get a second battery. I use bosch.
We have a video coming soon on various cordless blowers, got a few more to order from Amazon, temu etc before video comes out so probably towards autumn time
@epicautomotivedetailing cool. I use the Bosch ALB 18 LI because i have many batteries from my other bosch devices, and i 3d print exhausts if needed :)
Rinse aid? Do you have any videos about that?
Coming out in a video next week. Something similar is a foam sealant. I recently made a video with a dramatic thumbnail saying stop waxing your car lol. It covers everything you need
@epicautomotivedetailing thank you 😊
Maybe a nice bit of kit but at that price, I simply couldn't even consider it. I couldn't justify that price tag based on the price of other options avaialble.
Totally understand that, that's why I wanted to put a mix of other tools in the video. Although the difference is vast in terms of performance you can always get by with less expensive products in life
First somehow
I'll stick to my air compressor...
Glad you liking your blower..!
I have a Blo Air RS very similar to your Rokit.. Yes agree to all you are saying. BUT the best thing with a blower is Disc Brakes "This is a game changer"....
Orange Rusty Discs. Nightmare after spending time on getting your rims looking good, then BOOM the moment you drive away and brake the Barrel is contaminated with Da Rust.
Just use the blower to dry the disc after rinsing and not allow Oxidation to kick in.
Great advice warren
@@epicautomotivedetailing I have seen So many detailers online giving back their precious vehicle with this issue. Give it a go. Do a quick Vid on it, will help many.
i use big boi mini hot/cold air and adjust the air flow its a game changer 💪
Is that the small hand held model
Nice i'm eager to try the next level up
@@petersmith7126 no its bigboi blowr mini
@@petersmith7126 there is a smaller model coming which I am testing soon. To get the best out of a car dryer id always advice a sealant spray / rinse aid
@@epicautomotivedetailing i also have a cordless one charge it up with phone charger for when i restore headlights instead of me dragging out my big blower
That looks like a cool blower! Loving the purple colouring! Defo going to be purchasing one of these bad boys!
A good video for the product. The only thing I would not do is use such an item for blowing inside a car. To me that is just blasting the dust everywhere know matter how much you direct it at certain spot. Then again I’m a fussy amateur detailer and by that I mean I clean my car myself. I don’t even allow the garage to clean my car when serviced even though they claim they provide a “free” car wash service. In my experience this claimed “free” service is generally outsourced to mobile cleaning companies who do a rush job because time is money or workers who seemingly move the dirt around. Anyway I digress, on the subject of car dryers, I would comment that years ago before I was aware of car dryers, I bought a Bosch leaf blower dedicated for only car drying. I find this works perfectly well and is also quite powerful. I also have an air compressor with a long lead which is far more powerful and is excellent for those areas that are water traps.
I use ego blower
Any good?
Absolutely saves all the wires I had one like yours and it blew up after a year
Just started my own business, your videos are very helpful!
awesome glad to hear thank you
@@epicautomotivedetailing Just suggestion but I think a lot of people would appreciate a video of you testing Autogylm producs, like the demonshine or halfords video
@@snapz122 yeah feature a few products throughout the year with autoglym. I often do new product releases as many people already know so much about the older range but I'll be adding more brands to the channel very soon with that style of content
I use my BLO AIR GT it's brilliant very powerful twin 8 h p motors and 61 500 F P M 8 METRES OF HOSE TO great for blowing the leaves into space lol 😂😂
I use a cordless leaf blower 👍👍👍👍👍
I thought that as well, and probably a lot cheaper.
It would be great to see some cordless equipment for those testing the waters in car detailing, usually things like that arnt as powerful but would be good to see some in action for sure. Another great video Dave.
Definitely I've actually bought a few for a video which will be released in autumn
once again another fantastic and informative video Dave
I can not believe that you was wrong mate
Thanks mate
Great review Dave. Looks like it is very effective. Never used a car dryer.
Would a leaf blower work just as well? Cheaper too?
What kind? I said in the video that I made a video few years saying all let dryers are the same but I was so wrong. Yes things like leaf blowers all blow air but the actual difference in force is quite vast, ego make cordless blowers which is something I'm bringing to the channel soon so once I get enough tools I'll do an actual comparison 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing Yeah. I use the most powerful one that EGO makes. Also have the fan and light so the battery gets to be used across all three. It's nice to be cordless.
It's not cheaper then this
£170 to blow dry your car is a lot of money. Is it really worth bothering, I’ve used a kids soft leather wiper for years cost me
£3.50 and is still fine after all these years.
For an individual cleaning a car on the odd weekend, no probably not but for a business I can see the sense
Another great honest video Dave
Thank you
You’re very welcome I’m very choosy about who I watch and always found you to be more honest that some others on here, I’m also concerned that a good few videos that I’ve liked in the past didn’t show and I had to re like, strange lol😂
The unfortunate aspect of opinions on youtube is that when you change your opinion in one video, your older videos are still being recommended and watched and viewers will need to watch all of them to find the most recent state
Looks identical to my BLO car drier I’ve had nearly 3 years. I wonder who actually makes them.
Yes mate agreed
@@epicautomotivedetailing those switches are dodgy as mine has recently started playing up. I suggest turning the dial right the way down when switching it on and then slowly ramping it up because it doesn’t have a slow start motor and I’m not sure if that will make the resistor last a bit longer?
Geeze £160+ is a lot of money
Yeah it is, I've already made a video on alternative machines such as the cheap £50 pet dryer, the Hyundai wet vac with blower function and an air compressor and microfiber towels so plenty of other options out there for all budgets
Interested in one of these over microfibre towels but are they ok with PPF’d cars, I guessing just don’t point then at the edges?
You still need towels, car dryers won't solve every problem. For businesses I'd recommend using a towel in conjunction with a dryer. So dryers key attributes would be for things like door shuts, wheels, lights etc.
Biggest problem with people using Air Dryers is that if you’re trying to use it on a car without any slickness it’s pretty impossible and slow.
yes i agree
I've got no access to mains power where I wash my car, are there any battery powered options? I have quite a few Ryobi 18V batteries so using those would be an advantage.
Hello Chris yes I have a video coming out on the best option but it's costing a bit to source the right tools to film but hopefully next month I'll have something interesting
I use a Bosch high power leaf blower,it’s brilliant
I need to try one of them
@@epicautomotivedetailing Definately worth a try,It was £139 with battery and one 4 all charger.
Personally id not use one given the faff of setting it up, storing it etc
Yeah its definitely not for everyone and every situation. I think for Studio based detailers is essential. For people on the go the idea of a cordless blower could be a good alternative
@epicautomotivedetailing I'm sat wondering if your fave discount site, Temu , would do one? I got their little 3" polisher when it was about 30 quid and it's OK. Not brilliant but OK. Maybe worth me looking on there OR my local charity shops for leaf blowers to see if they could work. But again I'd maybe still use my Sam's drying towels
It takes a minute or two to plug in and saves so much time on drying, especially on the awkward bits, use it every single time…… absolute game changer 👍🏻
@adrianwynne4236 it's space to store it though Adrian and I do seriously think I'd think fudge it and not use it. I get what you are saying I'd not get use from it to warrant the outlay
£170
yeah its more at the top end so thats why I thought id do a comparison with the cheaper blower /wet vac i featured on the channel because i was guilty of saying it just did the same thing but truthfully there is a huge difference with performance
Not sure on this video if your review is neutral or you’ve been sent that blower to sell it
Let me explain why this comment gets on my nerves so maybe you can understand how this works because I am one of the very few honest ones out there within this industry so maybe you should read this to get a better understanding.
My job is to feature everything that's trending within the detailing industry, Doesn't matter if its Business related content, News, Products or tips & Tricks. If new products hit the market I want to be the first to get a video out, So my gain is from making content. If videos do well I get paid by UA-cam. Simple as that...
In some small cases I can make small amounts of commission (yes small amounts) I'm not exactly MrBeast with millions of followers. On this occasion I do (not) get paid any affiliate money if people use the code to save them money.
Yes I got this for free, But No I will not be keeping after I am finished with making content with it. Like I do with 90% of anything received I give it away to people who would benefit from it, eg small businesses, friends or family... I don't resell it or ever have any intention of doing so. The only difference with me is I don't often go public about giving away items for free because I get bombarded with messages all the time.
So now you know what I do with these items let me break down some simple costings of running such a channel: my unit costs X amount per month along with rates, electricity, wifi etc. £1500+ camera, monthly fees on software to create content, the days spent designing thumbnails, editing, It all adds up. and comes out of my bank.
This all requires skill, I had to invest my own money & time every day and night. That's why I have a following of wonderful people who appreciate what I do. So what do I do now? Do I just only film products that I buy and make a heavy financial loss? No. To keep the channel running I have to think logically and mix content with products purchased and products (Borrowed for short term!) I even tick the paid promotion box because UK law states without proof of purchasing something being mentioned in a video I would be liable.
So to answer your question. No i'm not selling these, no i'm not getting paid for this video but what I am doing is being one of the very few detailing channels to actually tick the legal disclaimer under paid promotion because it was received without any financial transaction.
If you honestly think all the other detailing influencers whether its on Instagram or UA-cam are playing fairly by the book then you are very mistaken. As with all of my videos which you can check, if its been received without me paying then I have to legally put PAID PROMOTION regardless of whether I get paid any money to feature a video on my channel.
So Please all I ask is you spend a little timing thinking about how this all works before presuming everyone is cashing in on such a low earning industry.
@@epicautomotivedetailing hi thanks for your reply. I must apologise first as I didn’t expect or mean to provoke such a reaction. Maybe I didn’t phrase my comment correctly - I was only asking whether you had received the blower either from the company and asked to review it or whether you had just obtained it, and then reviewed it.
Some tubers who review products start with a statement outlining how they have no links or ties with the products and purely just reviewed it .. versus being sent it from the manufacturer to review and in someone ways, advertise it.
Personally I don’t mind either way, I just like to know. I’d like to think your audience is intelligent enough to make their own decisions not just based on one video
I subscribe to your channel and I’ve bought things based on your reviews, and I enjoy and rate your content, so again am sorry if my comment has touched a nerve, that wasn’t my intention.
I just didn’t find it clear on how you came to be reviewing the item, and didn’t think it was that bad of a thing to ask. I know it’s subtle, but I hope you can appreciate the difference ?
@@plebism I could name and shame every single individual in this industry who's getting free stuff or money and not disclosing it. But for me I don't want anything to do with those individuals, I have a family to support so I just get my head down and focus on making videos. I get that comment every day without fail many times and it really gets too much especially when I'm actually playing by the rules. I put a lot of emphasis in videos because that just what I'm like in real life 🙏
@@epicautomotivedetailing well as i said before, i can only apologise as i didn’t plan to cause such upset, and i am a follower of your content, and not of many other detailers, so hope that counts for something
