This is an excerpt from the full symphonic medley I did of the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack. This is the song sung by Stoick and Valka (Feat. Gobber) in the second HTTYD film.

can we just appreciate that one tiny little _"Bruh"_ next to Stoick's face? It is _ABSOLUTE PERFECTION_
Where-
@@Demonshifter at 1:31 when Gobber interrupts
He's like "Bruh you're supposed to shut up"
Hiccup: Dad, there is something you need to know!
Stoick: Yeah, yeah. Tell me on the way.
Hiccup: This isn't an on the way kind of update, actually.
Stoick: I've heard enough, Hiccup!
Hiccup: More of the earth-shattering-development variety.
Stoick: Yeah, just add it to the pile.
Hiccup: Dad, unlike most surprises I spring on you, this is one you'll like. I promise. You just have to handle it delicately. So...
Gobber: Uh, you might want to take this one. Oh, boy.
(Stoick draws his sword)
Hiccup: Oh. Uh, Dad, could you put the sword away, please?
(Stoick sees Valka and gasps, drops his sword and takes off his helmet)
Valka: I know what you're gonna say, Stoick. How could I have done this? Stayed away all these years and why didn't I come back to you, to our son? Well, what sign did I have that you could change, Stoick, that anyone on Berk could? I pleaded so many times to stop the fighting, to find another answer, but did any of you listen?
Gobber: This is why I never married. This and one other reason.
Valka: I know that I left you to raise Hiccup alone, but I thought he'd be better off without me, and I was wrong. I see that now, but... Oh, stop being so stoic, Stoick! Go on! Shout, scream, say something!
(...)
Stoick: You're as beautiful as the day I lost you.
I swear I could hear their voices 😢
though I wonder what the other reason why Gobber didn't get married...
@@Mistifying568 I have a few headcanons. He's gay, he's in love with Stoick (maybe Valka too), he doesn't have the part required for children (may lost it to a dragon some way), or maybe he's aromantic and doesn't want to get married to anyone.
@@harleyloraine7699 actually the director, who is also gay, confirmed gobber is infact gay
Cinematic perfection
Gobber: *Interrupts Stoick's singing*
Gobber: Sorry.
Stoick: Bruh.
Would you consider releasing a version without Gobber's interjection? I want to cry properly to this song but Gobber keeps butting in.. Even so, this is amazing! I love Stoick's deep violin
bro what you talking about we all know Gobber butting in is the best part
that bit was so funny though
Gosh, this is like number 3 in my top five of HTTYD music/songs.
Honestly, the orchestral cover is nice and all, but personally I've always liked the vocals of this one the most!
Just for curiosity what are the other two?
I love that in the medley, this brutal end is a direct transition to Stoick's Ship, as in the movie, the event is rather sudden and shocking.
You express the emotions so well !
There are parts of Stoicks ship that mimic the melody of this
I was thinking the same thing!! I was listening to the soundtrack of HTTYD 2 last night, listening specifically for intricate themes and what they mean. When I started Stoick’s Ship and heard this melody in the soft, slow piano, I almost started crying. What a beautiful score, once again orchestrated by none other than John Powell.
THE FACT THAT YOU PUT GOBBER'S INTERRUPTION IN THERE!!! X'D
This song is such a beautiful melody of love. It always brings a smile to my face when I hear it. Amazing job as always, Kāru!
You guys have no idea how much I love this song ❤
Let's be honest, this is one of the best love songs that we'll hear in our lives 💖🥰
Also, just hear it makes me feel a lot of nostalgia when me and my cousin started to watch the first two movies and we became fans of HTTYD, I remember that the first time that I heard this song, the 7 years old me cried, and then after Stoico's death, I had to tell me cousin to pause the movie.
I was so dramatic Lmao 💚🖤❤
One of the best love themes, greatly covered
So glad that this was able to get onto Apple Music even with everything else that happened. Words can't really convey the way you feel towards someone or something, but this song is pretty dang close. Thank you.
It would be cool to see a cover of We Don't Talk About Bruno or the Inside Job theme but honestly everything you do is amazing
Ugh the inside job op would be so amazing in this style
Someone has got to play this at my wedding
I got you
*cry of happiness*
1:30 lol
Thank you Kāru💙
i love how they included goober
"don't be sad it's over, be glad it happened"
since this orchestral medley series is over, but im glad that you put some effort in this. next time (hope it is) some covers for httyd nine realms
Cannot wait for this to be released on Apple Music! Any updates on release date?
The distribution process is almost complete, should be up in a few days 😁✨
Обожаю эту песню
beautiful
At 2:03 both stoick and valka look absolutely shocked.
Noice
i just saw the "oh, would you"
like in the movie
Will you post the race to the edge intro?
"Bruh"
I'm mentally preparing for tomorrow.
can we get one without gobbers cuts XD
