Excited for you to play this for the first time bro! It has my favorite tone and story out of all of the Persona games. I hope Persona 1 and 2 get another remake treatment like this too.
Peak persona. My first and still my favourite Persona game in terms of story. P5Royal was a great contender though.
Edit: The mascot is definitely Aigis. You can change Morgana's costume to Aigis or Teddy in P5R.
If we go by what Sega and Atlus is saying: Koromaru is the Mascot, but i see why you would say Aigis.
Never played Persona 3 as a kid, but i 100% agree on the story.
Nah Aigis is the mascot. You would THINK koramaru, but the two you always see is Makoto and Aigis. Like in the upcoming live album art, which shows joker and Morgana and Makoto and Aigis
There isn't really much of a "mascot" character like Persona 4 and 5 have. Though I'd say the closest is the Robot girl, the dog is just a cool dog that is there lol.

If i remember correctly, they are kinda shooting themselves, just without blowing out their brains and dying part. Evokers are weird and their lore explanation is even weirder

(Also, as clarification, all protagonists of the Neo Trilogy and its spinoffs (being 3, 4, and 5) are of the Fool Arcana and are referred to as Wild Cards. Persona 3 is hands down my favorite game out of the most recent 3 games (P1 and P2 port anyone?). It’s dark as hell, but that’s what gets you roped in. Persona 3 is about Momento Mori (remembering that everyone eventually dies in the end). Them shooting themselves in the head is how they summon their personas. It’s morbid, yes, but badass at the same time. If persona 3 didn’t do well sales wise, there was a REAL possibility that Altus MAY have went bankrupt and went out of business if I recall correctly, so they pulled no fuckin punches with the OG and made the idea of suicide a common thing in persona 3 lol edgy, but that’s what makes it so fucking good.
