  • This video explores the concept of introverted feeling or Fi, as described by Carl Jung in his book Psychological Types. His writing highlights the characteristics of people who possess introverted feeling, such as being silent, inaccessible, and hard to understand. It delves into their tendency to hide behind masks and a melancholic temperament. Jung also discusses how the Fi users motives remain concealed and their outward demeanor appears harmonious and inconspicuous.

    Ok...huh....I think mentioning Fi being an error code seems legit!
    Seriously though, Fi seems to be some kind of art expressed playing a character or creating an avatar personally crafted via a mask they embrace/immerse into (and only one)! Fe may use many masks but Fi designs only one in such a secretive form of "lost art" or "unique moral perspective". It's either you see the art of the mask or the authenticy of the face, the intent on projecting their intense personal beliefs are clear as day regardless. In the mask, you get snippets of their values in the form of mysterious poetry, symbolism and that begs the question. And in the face when comfortable, you get everything, the full story of who they are in the form of raw authencity/passion and that treasure in their heart/morals may be accepted or not!
    The example I think of and always is Kobe's Mamba mentality! How he embraces and immerses himself into this avatar called the "Black Mamba" to reach the goal he desires with his extreme work ethic. His reponses in interviews correspond to that avatar (and mind you, it's not a play, it's just "the way I am" type of thing). Even when he remained quiet, his Fi "aura" was still extremely loud. Due to its success in winning 5 championships, its only natural people become curious about it and post retirement, he openly responds how the art works and how he handled himself with teammates. It's one of the few ones I know the Fi is widely accepted, and known as "legendary" especially after his death.
    Another word to describe Fi would be "Hermeneutics". A big fancy word for "art of interpretation".
    Not sure if I said a load of BS though, it was worth guessing!

    The way this is described makes me think having Fi as a dominant function is kind of a waste of a dominant function slot.

      Jung did a lot of drugs with demisexual women. No I got lost too, all I noticed was that in this example the object was masculine and the subject was feminine but I assume them to be layers of consciousness or modalities.

    • @InternetLiJo
      @InternetLiJo  10 місяців тому +6

      Yes! The object is that which is outside the self, accessing information that is of the object goes along with extroversion. The subject is the person him or herself that Jung is talking about in that moment.

    While more common in women, it is also seen in men, especially ones who are neurodivergent. In young, especially low functioning, autistic boys and girls, for example, Fi does not have much of a pool of internal wisdom to draw upon given the person's limited experience, yet it draws upon what little there is - even if the individual has to conceive of such wisdom himself.

      Extroverts assume that one is paying mind to the object or external world as default. However often times introverts or Fi for example hasn’t gotten there yet, as in they haven’t traveled beyond their subjective cognitive boundaries to address or truly see outside. It’s then when they seem “cold” because how could one not see those with needs that surround them.

      @@superioropinion7116 based on what i have understood and what i know, extroverts doesn't assume that everyone is an extrovert in the sense of extroversion, but rather like everyone regardless of the type they assume that everyone else have the same perception of reality (cognitively), and when @LiJo explicitly wrote "Extroverts assume that one is paying mind to the object or external world as default", it's the "paying mind' part is the projection of the perception, and so based on that, if the extroverts of this hypothetical case assume that everyone can see from outside of their selfs the external issues, not addressing the issue is what makes the introverts seem "cold". that is if i truly understood right ^^'...self typed as FM Fi/Ne CSP(B)

      @@khochtaliyoussef1670 Interesting, but as an introvert I don't think I assume that everyone is paying attention to the subject or internal world as default since I know all kinds of people exist and therefore have their own way of seeing things and I would like to for extroverts to offer the same sort of liberty

      @@superioropinion7116 well ^^' ;D ... in your sentence "and therefore have their own way of seeing things" i can interpret it that you want the subjectivity (the Di) to be respected, and "I would like to for extroverts to offer the same sort of liberty" i interpret it that you assume that extroverts can see that everyones value their own indiviuality and therefor you have the expectation that they should offer that respect or as you called it liberty... but this is just my subjective interpretation, where i'm trying to defend the concept of the projecting of perception cuz "I" believe in it ^^" sry >

      @@InternetLiJo It's kinda hard for a non native english speaker to follow on with Jung, he's language is too high context.
      Moreover your voice gives it a deep touch, satisfying to listen to.
      definitions of cognitive functions are such, that as you are listing to it, you understand it all, but once the explanation is over it becomes blurry.
