- Chapter 1 of Carl Jung's essay, "Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle", titled "Exposition". As the title of his essay suggests, Jung believed the explanation for synchronicity lay outside the bounds of causality in space and time--or at least as we understand it.
I'm excited to share this work of Jung's, as it not only explains synchronicity as Jung had come to understand it, but also provides a (somewhat) comprehensive glimpse into Jung's world. Synchronicity, and its underlying principles, weren't just ideas or theories to Carl Jung--they were realities, and integral components in his understanding of psychology and metaphysics.
This is a great read/listen for anyone, but those with knowledge of Jung's theories regarding archetypes and the unconscious will especially appreciate the way he ties synchronicity, the unconscious and archetypes together.
This is the only chapter I'll be reading from this essay, because I think it's the only one that can be understood well via listening only, and I believe it provides enough information to suit most listeners. The entire essay can be purchased for $5 or less, and contains charts, diagrams, etc. detailing the data Jung references, if you really want to get deep into the nuts and bolts of synchronicity.

Understanding it would be satisfying, but just the knowledge that so much of the population/wise individuals see these things, bring peace. Jung never disappoints. Throughly enjoyed this reading.

When synchronicity happens I generally look up the spiritual meaning of whatever occurs repeatedly > sometimes though I find that there are riddles > the spiritual plane or underworld has a great sense of humor > the collective unconscious isn’t just hanging out doing nothing and people can and do dance with it wether they are conscious of it or not

Fraud and lack of proper procedural controls have been demonstrated throughout Rhine's experiments. Their claims made in relation to their validity are worthless. Synchronicity, by contrast, appears to be a real phenomenon. It is a pity the two got entwined in Jung's essay.
Man I've spent so much time trying to figure this stuff out. What do the synchronicities mean? I get them all the time. Then it gets too intense and I shut out that openness to see them which seems necessary to do at times as you have to live in the present too. I just get frustrated not knowing what they mean. Do you think it's just the unknowable letting us know it's all under control and to just live our life and enjoy it? To do the things we love and enjoy..and not to put a lot of fear, distrust, and stress into the unknown? The reason I ask is because the moment I think I figured it out and found the connection, I go through the process of returning to the present moment and living my life.

@Cognizance 25 That makes sense man. Yeah so itll happen usually when a question has been on my mind for awhile. I used to be religious and so that guilt for not getting it will try to creep back in my mind. It's hard because my natural inclination will be to dig deeper by listening to more and more audiobooks and stuff, but eventually it wears me out and I go back to neutral, almost an indifference and then they start up again lol. For example recently had a question on my mind...then had a dream that cones were splitting two areas of a road I was extremely close to the cones but was told by the guy laying them that I was ok on the side i was on but getting close to the line. On the other side i saw all these people fighting and shooting each other. When I woke up it became clear that my recent angry attitude was not going to produce the results I'm looking for. It spoke more to me, but it's a long story.
I like the idea that they're natural occurrences when you're in alignment/high-energy
I also feel that they're a confirmation that you're on the right path for that reason, although it seems we can use it to learn and guide our lives,
I've heard of cases of diagnosed schizophrenia where a symptom was perception of extreme synchronicity, like every number they saw felt like a glaring synchronicity,
But its obviously not in the mind, or a sign of insanity. The most I've dared to experiment was to ask/set the intention to randomly find someone to help, or to find the answer to the question. Trying to give no limits to how the universe could provide the opportunity. And the results were beyond my belief.
I can't help but ask what are we supposed to do with such power? What would be the result if we all use this energy, for the good?
Ultimately I think that it's proof that reality isn't things and forces, but mind and symphony

In 2 years I've had manifestations of the physical and alot of messages in my face. I had received enough, that it took me to seeing history repeating itself in full fashion... people we all know; that it appears they're going to surface in these days. Also what's been presented to me, has 2 other parts to it. One is about the UFO crash in '47, that happened outside of Corona NM on the 33rd degree parallel.
The 3rd part to it all is where I live; which I never would've known or cared that Im 111 miles from there...
It doesn't let up...met a new neighbor who recently moved to town, saying he didn't know how he got here, or WHY he moved here. His plan was he was moving to Texas. The town here is Tucumcari NM and Tucumcari Mountain plays into it all. Look at it, it's very intriguing now that I received tukamukaru, which means an ambush. To lie in wait.

Happens more often than people even realize. They don't take the time to look and think.
Had a huge one happen to me recently. I had a 70's song stuck in my head, that I didn't know the artist, title, or lyrics to. I'd heard it a few times over the years, but hadn't heard it in quite a long time. Still, I was trying to find this song. I listened to hours of "Top 100 hits of the 70's" on youtube, to no avail. We spent the weekend at my mom's house, we're having dinner, and she asks me to put a nice movie on. I browse thru the different options she has, I chose Hulu, and after browsing around there, chose the movie Night at the Museum. While my husband and mom watch it, I'm on my phone still trying to figure out this song, why it keeps getting in my head when I hadn't heard it since forever. I get fed-up and put my phone down, and watch the movie. Near the end, Ben Stiller is telling the characters of the museum that they need to start getting along with each other. He gestures to the Confederate troops, reminding them that they're from the south-- they have the Allman Brothers. Robin Williams smiles and nods. I stare blankly at the tv, as if that was a message for me. "Yeah right," I think to myself, grabbing my phone. I look up the Allman Brothers. I find the song. I then open the discord app I have on my phone, and tell a friend of mine this weird thing that just happened. "What's the song?" he asks. I answered, "Midnight Rider by the Allman Brothers." He replies, "OMG." and sends me a screenshot of his phone. THE SAME SONG was currently playing (I have the screenshot). He typed in all caps, "THAT'S FUCKING SCARY." I'm super-freaked out at this point, so I called my sister-in-law and told her what happened. During our conversation, I tell her that sometimes if I wish to see an animal or symbol, it happens either that day or in the next few days. I told her I was thinking of an elephant. The next day I'm out grocery shopping with my husband and mom. At the end of this aisle, was a card that had an elephant on it. The front of the card (I have the pics of this) reads, "Dream big little one." and upon opening it, the message says, "Your sweet adventure's just begun. So happy you're here." which is wicked-creepy knowing the background to it. These things KEEP HAPPENING to me, almost everyday. I really wish I could get to the bottom of them.

I had a striking synchronicity that happened years ago, so I don't doubt the truth of these events, but it came about pretty casually and I don't feel it really had serious meaning, although it nags at me a bit because I guess we have a need for meaning.
Nagging, like most feelings, comes from the unconscious. It is a condensed signal of a result (positive, negative, neutral, etc.) of information being processed. Synchronicity, as I understand it, is an even more evident way of turning your attention to the matter. Even though such events may be occuring daily, it is just the ones that matter (which require our attention) that surface. And those, that nag you, are probably vital to some aspect in your life. I think.

And having studied ancient wisdom, Greek, Egyptian, Chinese philosophy, synchronicity is never mentioned, so why would it have a purpose in our life's?
Nah, if you see 63 everywhere it doesn't mean you've been born in 63. Synchronicity, as I understand it, is a way to put something on the forefront of our conscious mind. Something, that needs processing. So, even if some numbers or events occur a couple of times, daily, it is only the even which you see, that has meaning for you.

Is anyone else getting tired of the side effects post modern messiahs created by insisting on rejecting spiritual energy that is sometimes but not overwhelmingly biased toward a divine plan as the cause of all psychic phenomena and their own messiah revelations? Jung is just one of many pioneers of modern pseudo-science that failed to grasp the simplest solution rather than let go of their religious/anti-religious dogmas and worship of the human mind, especially their own.

Untrue. Just requires a very large data set that documents the events in real time objectively. Then the density of extraordinary objective evidence speaks for itself.
@@richardpaschal2218 plus, he mentions that those "ESP" / card guessing experiments were not argued. Meaning, that they were done scientifically correct. I think, that science (the way it is nowadays) isn't built to accept anything that has no strict line of cause and effect. Jung wrote in this book, that there is no causality in synchronous events, meaning that synchronicity is "unscientific". But, for me at least, this means that science is unscientific, because it fails to recognize repeatable events. Science allows calling that what can be proven with scientific methods unscientific.
