Here’s a pedantic sidenote - if a damage source is less than the amount blocked by armor, it gets reduced to 1, not zero. So a squad of mustangs will chew through an armored opponent eventually.
One of my secret counters to Assault Mode Marksman is electromag Hackers. They hack them almost instantly and as soon as they are hacked, they regain all those tasty tasty hitpoints and splash damage.
You really should pick the farseer at Turn 3, and upgrade them with Electromagnetic, they fire two missiles first one disable assault marksman tech second one kill it.
I saw him playing the linked sledges recently and I started running it as a last round all in as well. It feels similar to dropping a lvl 2 WF to tank late game.
One thing I like to do when I feel like doing a share/heal sledgie comp is to put lower level sledgies in front of the higher level ones. Not only is it common to get level 3+ sledgies through that strat, but adding a layer of lower levels in front provides two big bonuses: #1 they still take forever for melting points to kill, but the weaker front layer die off before the whole blob, causing the melter to reset their beams and giving time for the tanks to heal back up. #2 the lower level sledgies hit the chaff first, making it more likely the high levels will get their damage on a juicier target.
Does anyone else think Sabertooth specialist needs a buff? I mean, ever since Sabertooth was made not only a core unit, but a potential starter, it's kind of lost its appeal. Sure, it's worth a free 250 supply (and 1 free deployment) if you DON'T have Sabertooth as a starter unit, which is more than, say, Quick Supply Specialist gets (although I think QSS sucks anyway and never use it) and Sabertooths (Saberteeth?) are good units, but it still just feels a bit dull now.
I still really like it because you don't have to wait very long before you get the power spike turn. It isn't stronger the QSS, but the downside of waiting isn't really a problem because you then get to place the Saber after seeing your opponents board. It is still hard to pass up a Giant Specialist, free giant unlocks is just so tasty, but Saber Specialist is still on the upper end of ones I pick.
@@Hunter-pt4zy Well yeah, but most specialists are worth a measurable amount of free supply. Sabertooth Specialist is, as I pointed out, technically worth a free _300_ supply (200 for the Sabertooth itself, 50 for the free unlock, 50 for a free bonus deployment) so it's automatically 100 better than QSS. And as I said, I don't even think that's very good (compared to the likes of Giant Specialist, which gives you the equivalent of a free 200 supply for every giant you unlock and deploy at least one unit of). The ONLY advantage of QSS is that it gives you its extra supply in round 1, increasing your chance of winning that round in particular- and because of the tiny size of round 1 armies, even with 200 extra supply, it's the least-relevant round to win in the game.
@ Yes, but given how you spend it, that extra 200 can allow you to set the tempo for the game completely and force your opponent to overspend into something while you build up a different board. I once opened with a scorpion on QSS spec against sledge hammer/fang and my opponent could not get any answer to the scorpion. They couldn't afford to dedicate too much to fighting it given I still had marksman/crawlers from my starter to contend with. It just depends on how you use it. Combine it with a loan, you can do some really crazy stuff with QSS. Not saying it's better than something like Giant, but it certainly provides opportunities to play the game in a way no other spec does.
No. Ignite damage is effect damage and doesn't get spread among the sledgies. Sledgehammers are also generally low health so the ignite does very low amounts of damage. It's not like ignite counts the combined hp.
It’s refreshing to see a game creator who is really, really good at their own game.

Maybe Bearlike is gonna start a new meta from the old meta. xD

I mean it went from being kinda OP to less OP. It’s still better than all the non-unit specs except maybe quick supply.
It's easier to think of QSS as a free 200. That's 200 gold over your opponent that they will never get over :D
