I can manage, I buy a lot of my stuff as partial kits secondhand on ebay, in bundles, or front my local game store which is cheaper than direct from GW. Plus I take way longer to make kits with all the converting, so it spaces out buying kits a lot too
@osiris4457 yesss omg but still in the realms of being achievable to draw inspiration from. And like the painting isn't overly complicated but looks so bloody good
Yeah, this did use a lot of skills I've built up over a few years of kit bashing, plus a few more I picked up just for this. I try to learn something new for each build that helps me in other stuff going forward
Stuff like this inspires me to get out of my comfort zone and kitbash more. I tend to get into the mindset that "oh, I'll just screw it up" but the pure go ahead and do it attitude you have just gets me fired up to do it myself. Great video.
Go for it! I was very cautious about it all at first too, I started with just simple head/weapon swaps and just adding a few ornaments to space marines, and just worked my way up into doing a bit more with each build, after enough times and practising enough methods you get a good feel for it, and are more confident it what you can do and learn next
I have no idea how you think this is not a great model. This stuff is some of the highest quality model conversion work i've ever seen on youtube. There are Hobby Wizards out there, and you are among them! Also the Lich's Lab Jumpscare at the end, was not expecting him to get a light shout out, but I understand it. You are a person worth donating to, I just wish I didn't have to keep a tight hold on my wallet so I could support you.
Thanks, and don't worry about not donating or anything, that's just a very optional extra, just the usual youtube things of liking, subscribing and commenting is stuff I'm still grateful for and it helps out a lot
Okay this is *incredible*, genuinely - the interior especially got me there is so much detail crammed in there and an actual body to the hull-mounted gun like you put more thought into this than GW put into the vehicles it's based on. One of the finest conversions I've ever seen, genuinely :))
There are a few of those in the TANKHEAD book I've wondered how I could build. Dunecrawler legs would be a good starting point, but the body is a little unusual, hard to think of small-ish vehicle parts are flat and wide
The video is great. The kitbashing is awesome! The final mech mua Chefs Kiss. The background music... gives me a headache and I think I'm having a nosebleed....
The conversion is so good that when the pieces of the model were separated before painting it looks like its supposed to be an official model kit. This is amazing and inspiring work keep up the awesomeness conversion king!
This is great. Proportions, open space to busy space ration, the paint job, the graphic placement etc... brilliant stuff! Happy to be a new subscriber!
The sheer skill and creativity that goes into this is mind blowing! UA-cam's got some great kitbashers, but I think you're at the top. Me? I don't think I'd even be able to *begin* seeing the shapes and combinations you've been able to figure out. Also, for someone who says they're not much of a painter? That's some *damn* clean painting! Very neat, very refined.
Thank you algorithm for bringing me to nor just a great UA-camr but also a new sci-fi setting that is very aesthetically pleasing for lovers of giant robots. Keep up the good work, good sir 👍
That mech you made and showed at the start is amazing! I paused to type this up so the other ones in this vid may be just as amazing, but damn I want to play a video game where I get to pilot that or play as it as a sort of android or whatever.
Been following the build on Bluesky, and if by magic, the Algorithm blessed me. I'm pucking up the book when I get paid. Cheers for the reccomendation.
Good work, now a baneblade. Jokes aside, this is some stellar work! I enjoy your creativity and ingenuity throughout the process. Definitely a new subscription!
Thanks, your stuff is always great and inspiring too, I'm sure the model reveal at the end of this video wouldn't be nearly as cool without your great music playing
Wow this is so awesome I couldn’t even imagine a leman Russ one and a bane blade with a titan or even some mechanicus stuff would add some cool bits for this worlds mechs
He has! He's even commented and shared it on his twitter and instagram, it's a little surreal being recognised and talking my favourite artist/mech designer
I do love armoured core, I'm still waiting on an order for the 30mm nightfall kit. I think a white glint armiger would be a cool idea, and even just for small things I've always wanted to try giving one of my builds a pile bunker weapon
What thickness of Plasticard do you use? I’ve been meaning to get some to make some makeshift armor that looks like ERA for my tanks, but I’m not sure which thickness would be the best.
Try using Gundam Kits for these, more humanoid silhouettes might make it easier to get what you want, they’re also push fit and a damn sight cheaper than WH40K so mistakes would be easier to correct and less expensive to start with
I did actually build gunpla before I got into warhammer minis, and doing custom MS is what got me started with my mini kitbashing. I found warhammer stuff easier to work with initially as you can be a bit messier with it, since gunpla parts and painting has way more clean flat surfaces and lines to worry about. I do want to try going back to gunpla with all the skills I've picked up from warhammer, or even other plamo stuff, I'm still waiting on the 30mm nightfall model I've had ordered to come back into stock
I got really inspired by your BT-7274 Armiger and kit bashed one into a proxy for an Admech Thanatar. I'm not fully satisfied with it but I may take some inspiration from this video to modify it
I did it very carefully with my hobby knife, mostly multiple small, controlled cuts, done repeated. Either pushing through with the very tip of the knife, or repeatedly scoring a line of where I want to cut. Then afterwards I did clean up the cut by sanding it smooth
Btw, what's your opinion on the grotmas knights detachment? It doesn't look that strong, but your projects were the first thing I thought of when I saw it
That may be a good place to look in the future, but MG hands are probably more in scale, comparing to my own gunpla, HG's line up more with my armiger-based builds
Yeah, this wasn't cheap, but I've had this idea and been collecting kits for it for a while, I got most of the knight second-hand and cheap from ebay, plus a lot of the other bits I have leftover from older builds, the only thing I had to buy new was the tank. Plus it took me a while to put it all together so it was mostly worth it in the end.
I should have ignored my friends and never left hobby craft. I used to kitbash before I knew what that was. I was good... But I chose pot and a bunch of friends that as of 10years ago, I speak with none of them. Definitely need to get into it again as a light hobby. Just wish I ad been doing it for 28 years now and have my own studio.
Man, I hope you can keep yourself financialy stable, with so many knight kit purchases
I can manage, I buy a lot of my stuff as partial kits secondhand on ebay, in bundles, or front my local game store which is cheaper than direct from GW. Plus I take way longer to make kits with all the converting, so it spaces out buying kits a lot too
That and Doom Crawlers
You do easily the best conversion work on YT
It’s insane that he only has 11k subs!
Wow, that's some high praise, thanks!
And it's actually fully-fledged conversions, not just sanding something away and slapping a horn or bone on the mini and calling it a day.
True...
@osiris4457 yesss omg but still in the realms of being achievable to draw inspiration from. And like the painting isn't overly complicated but looks so bloody good
absolutely awesome, the fact that the armour is removable and the inside is modelled makes an already cool model even cooler
This kitbash is on a whole different level, the complexity and skill behind this is incredible.
Yeah, this did use a lot of skills I've built up over a few years of kit bashing, plus a few more I picked up just for this. I try to learn something new for each build that helps me in other stuff going forward
Making the armor and many parts removable with magnets is EXCELLENT !
So fun
Wow! Amazing conversion. S tier

I’d love to see your take on a Crab walker style Tank/Mech! Lots of legs and a really big gun!
There are a few of those in the TANKHEAD book I've wondered how I could build. Dunecrawler legs would be a good starting point, but the body is a little unusual, hard to think of small-ish vehicle parts are flat and wide
@ I’ve gotta buy this book. Love the content!
The video is great. The kitbashing is awesome! The final mech mua Chefs Kiss. The background music... gives me a headache and I think I'm having a nosebleed....

Amazing work cant wait to see what mech you make next
your work makes me genuinely happy and excited to kitbash more stuff myself
this is so cool man, the crew you made was awesome
Dude using a leveler on your phone to ensure the waist and legs are balanced is awesome!! Incredible work dude, well done!
Amazing job! I love that we live in the era where there's a nerd for--and lots of videos on--everything!
By far the coolest build I have seen in a long time. Amazing.
This is some dark mechanicum creativity 😂
dude this is awesome
This is so awesome. Thanks for bringing my attention to the art book. Your conversion is incredible
The sheer skill and creativity that goes into this is mind blowing! UA-cam's got some great kitbashers, but I think you're at the top. Me? I don't think I'd even be able to *begin* seeing the shapes and combinations you've been able to figure out.

Such a cool redesign and color scheme execution! Love seeing the back and forth that happened mi-building.
Yeah, it comes quite a long way over the course of the building, I always like looking back at the early steps to see how it evolves
Honestly amazing
Thank you algorithm for bringing me to nor just a great UA-camr but also a new sci-fi setting that is very aesthetically pleasing for lovers of giant robots.
Keep up the good work, good sir 👍
Incredible work. 4 months of effort? Bravo
this is awesome, and thank you for introducing me to tankhead stuff
That mech you made and showed at the start is amazing! I paused to type this up so the other ones in this vid may be just as amazing, but damn I want to play a video game where I get to pilot that or play as it as a sort of android or whatever.
Such a stellar piece, man. Your first 40K Tankhead kitbash already blew me away, but you leveled up 10x with this build!
These just keep getting better and better, the detail and skill is just mind blowing.
Amazing man such a cool model keep making great things
bro this is amaziiiiing!!! the amount of kitbashing and customization u gave it is insane!!! the omissiah is beyond pleased!!
Outdone yourself with this one DRS, finest conversion I've ever seen. Good work!
Simply amazing work. Looks fantastic!
This conversion is nuts, I love it.
Been following the build on Bluesky, and if by magic, the Algorithm blessed me. I'm pucking up the book when I get paid. Cheers for the reccomendation.
Well, damn, this is one of the best mods/conversions i have seen so far.
I’m just watching this amazing video and realized that BT-7274 is in your army! That is beyond bad ass!!!
It sure is, I love titanfall and have done a few conversions inspired by it, I've even got a few videos on them too
Good work, now a baneblade.
Jokes aside, this is some stellar work! I enjoy your creativity and ingenuity throughout the process. Definitely a new subscription!
Your modeling skills far outweigh your editing skills. Amazing work on his kitbash.
The Fact Bro Only Has 12K Subs And Made This Is Insane
this is next level, absolutely incredible work my dude
AMAZING!!!!
I love everything about this
This is beautiful!
Hoooly that looks epic man! Great work, very inspiring.
Thanks, your stuff is always great and inspiring too, I'm sure the model reveal at the end of this video wouldn't be nearly as cool without your great music playing
@@DumbRobotStuff Thanks. It's super satisfying seeing my music paired with your work, they definitely compliment each other well.
Looks awesome man, stunning work.
That is in a completely different league than your previous tankhead. Simply astounding work.
Absolutely amazing work!
WOW. like straight up the most engaging and awesome video I've seen all month. Inspiring!
Damn, that is literally amazing.
Good work.
Awsome!
You need more recognition.
This is amazing, so inspiring and educational, truly great work!
Wow this is so awesome I couldn’t even imagine a leman Russ one and a bane blade with a titan or even some mechanicus stuff would add some cool bits for this worlds mechs
I didn´t know you had a channel.
I saw your works on Bluesky.
Marvelous work by the way. You did an excellent job.
I want more of the internal goodies.... this is epic
Stunning work! I hope Emerson Tung has seen your amazing model!
He has! He's even commented and shared it on his twitter and instagram, it's a little surreal being recognised and talking my favourite artist/mech designer
@@DumbRobotStuff You definitely deserve it!
This is phenomenal!!
I was following you on twitter and TikTok but didn't know you had a YT too! i loved your Titanfall X 40k mechs and this thing came out AMAZING!
This is so bada##🤘🔥
It come out amazing awesome work.
This is amazing! I'd love to see you make something Armoured Core inspired.
I do love armoured core, I'm still waiting on an order for the 30mm nightfall kit. I think a white glint armiger would be a cool idea, and even just for small things I've always wanted to try giving one of my builds a pile bunker weapon
Thank you for the uploads
WOOO!!!! more mech!!!!!
Playing a 40k-30k game against you would be legendary!
Now I'm gonna need to buy this book. I'd love to play a game set in it.
Really awesome work!
Imagine the Admech finds this idea.
All knight will have additional turrets
This is amazing!! Got my sub for sure.
As a mecha famboy who's name is also Emerson, tankhead is my fucking jam, awesome work as always!!
You are Zog' gineus! (Mekkanik appruved)
Incredible!
Niiice! well done man!
I love your job !
Oh my god, I remember you building this! My youtube had another name at the time!
Yeah, I did quite a few streams on this one, it's my biggest model yet so it took a lot of building
@DumbRobotStuff turned out great
That's really cool
What thickness of Plasticard do you use? I’ve been meaning to get some to make some makeshift armor that looks like ERA for my tanks, but I’m not sure which thickness would be the best.
Most of the time I use 1mm, it's thick enough to be sturdy, but thin enough where it's not difficult to cut
Try using Gundam Kits for these, more humanoid silhouettes might make it easier to get what you want, they’re also push fit and a damn sight cheaper than WH40K so mistakes would be easier to correct and less expensive to start with

Awesome. Sorta like the old game Ring of Red
Looks awesome
getting .... Ring of Red - Flashbacks ....
Absolutely amazing next you should go big and do Warlord and baneblade
Very cool, I think I prefer the tank/chest gatling gun to the second cannon, but that in no way detracts from the fact that this is very cool.
I did magnetise the weapon options including the chest gun, so I can swap them if I want
This is so fkn gorgeous.. I'm a little upset with Games workshop so seeing their kits being chopped to make something unique is beautiful.
Baneblade based on dominus or cerastus chassis?
Tankhead is as hard to find as an honest politician. Lol
I got really inspired by your BT-7274 Armiger and kit bashed one into a proxy for an Admech Thanatar. I'm not fully satisfied with it but I may take some inspiration from this video to modify it
👍
How did you separate the legs so cleanly, when I did it it was a mess
I did it very carefully with my hobby knife, mostly multiple small, controlled cuts, done repeated. Either pushing through with the very tip of the knife, or repeatedly scoring a line of where I want to cut. Then afterwards I did clean up the cut by sanding it smooth
Btw, what's your opinion on the grotmas knights detachment? It doesn't look that strong, but your projects were the first thing I thought of when I saw it
I'm not that knowledgeable on rules, I build and paint WAY more than I play, I only really get in the occasional game of killteam
Nice!
for the hands i would have gone with the gundam 1/144 scale aka high grade model kits
That may be a good place to look in the future, but MG hands are probably more in scale, comparing to my own gunpla, HG's line up more with my armiger-based builds
This had to be ultra expensive
Yeah, this wasn't cheap, but I've had this idea and been collecting kits for it for a while, I got most of the knight second-hand and cheap from ebay, plus a lot of the other bits I have leftover from older builds, the only thing I had to buy new was the tank. Thats a fucking METAL GEAR

this reminds me a lot of the gen 5 ac i made with foamboard
this looks better than it ofcourse
