I was able to snag a Ninja Gaiden 3 at a local retro exchange store, loose, mint, for $79.99 and I was thrilled.

Do you have to pay to get in these conventions?

Yes, especially large ones. Usually the tickets aren’t extremely expensive, maybe $30-$50 or so. The most recent one I went to was $50 for a 3-day pass.

@@PyyrusGaming I thought these were paid for by sellers. It does seem like a high premium to access ebay stores. I think the last seller was way too expensive. Condition matters, but his stuff was being sold at a premium.

@WhatsOnMyShelf sellers do pay the venue to be there, but so do attendees. In fairness there’s a lot more going on than just vendors; there are tournaments, free play, meet and greets, all kinds of stuff. The last vendor definitely knew what he had, but he was more willing to move than some of the others. If you’re nice, with good product in good condition then I’m not bothered for a bit of a premium. As for EBay, you have to keep in mind taxes, fees, shipping, time to arrive and you don’t get to physically inspect it until you get it, so there are trade offs. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@WhatsOnMyShelf The admission price varies by convention. Too Many Games in Pennsylvania is really expensive to get into but has one of the largest vendor floors (if not the largest) on the East Coast, while Southeast Game Exchange is cheaper to get into for the whole weekend than a one day pass to TMG. I would suggest looking at the websites of cons near you to see if it's something you might enjoy. There are also YT videos of various panels from different shows to give you an idea of what you can see at an expo as there are a lot of interesting guests. (The man checking out the booth behind the vendor at the 6:35 mark was one of the founding developers at Activision and creator of the new Casey's Gold game, for example.) Plus, it's just enjoyable to be around people with liked interests.
