One of the best pieces of advice I can give about the lights is that they roam. During an emergency room run from Delta to Fairbanks My family actually ended up following them all the way to town. Which might not sound impressive but it's about 100 mi drive.😊
Hello there, Thanks so much for walking us through your Itinerary. I am heading to Alaska, Fairbanks on February 1st and i don't know yet what to pack and what to wear there with the Freezing temperatures, what would be your recommendation in terms of what to wear and how many layers, Thanks and greetings from DC.
hi, what a wonderful expeience! may I know what the tour did you use for the aurora light ? or you go by yourself ? and where is the aurora point did you go ? thank you
Nice video I’m going to Alaska in about 10 days. Staying for 7. I chose to an air bnb in North Pole and will be renting a car as well. The only tour I’ve booked is the arctic circle day trip. I plan to go to Chena hot springs and hopefully drive to Denali one day, running reindeer ranch is also on my list and possibly dog judging but it is very expensive for short trips I wouldn’t mind just a visit with the dogs and to learn about them. That would be nice but so far have not seen a place that just does tours with the dogs. I think I should have booked my trip for 10 days but I’ll try to cram it all in for the time that I’m there. I hear the Aurora is spectacular now as people have even been seeing it down here in the lower states. Even in my state CT. All in all your video was cute and informative.
I've gone to Alaska, based on travel guides, and the depressing UA-cam videos. And by far, the best experience, is don't rely on anyone nor anything, to travel to Alaska. I just go for the hunting. So, I pick a destination, pack the truck, and drive-off. No brochures, no one telling me what to visit or where to stay(I prefer a tent, in the wilderness). Relying on someone else's experience, will probably not make you very happy with your visit. Much the same as believing what other hunters say about a particular location. Always hunt, where no one dares travel.
Sounds like you dropped a ton of cash.. pretty typical for the average tourist around here.. and you weren't even here during the peak season when prices soar. Pikes is a great hotel but very expensive during sping/summer. Glad you got to see the Aurora...it can be very unpredictable.
