Thai food became popular in Fairbanks in 1989 with the opening of the Thai House, and since then, it has become a favorite with locals and travelers. Also, in 2002 the Thai government created programs to incentivize the exportation and promotion of Thai food globally. One initiative was the "Global Thai" program, where the government offered loans to Thai nationals to open restaurants abroad.

Even without the Aurora, still a great video! Lots of fun things to do, especially the sledding! Love the videos where Amy gets to join you. The kiddos probably would have loved the sledding too!

A good thing to remember is, milder temperatures bring snow & cloud cover, then after mild spell when temperatures drop to -20°c to -50°c then skies are clear and you would see the northern lights...
I lived in Northern Ontario, Chapleau specificly, we could see northern lights especially in January and February, as Great lakes were usually frozen so no lake effect snow, most days in those 2 months are absolutely beautiful in all the sunshine... We would average especially in January -30°c with a week of -50°c with clear skies (cloud cover always makes it warmer).
Probably if you had been there week before with -35°F you would have clear skies and the northern lights would have lit up the skies for you both!! Hope this is helpful. All best next time!!! Love the video makes me miss living in the north ♡

Seems like you did a lot in 3 days, you can see the northern lights in Michigan in various places along the shoreline is the best place for viewing. It was -45* F in Wisconsin a couple of years ago, for sure you have to be careful.

The museum doesn't have enough room for only a fraction of the wonderful artifacts. There is a tremendous amount of things that have been donated never to be seen again. They don't have to room. Alaska has so much we can learn from. The University is worldwide geophysical institution on campus.

We went to Fairbanks in March of 2021. We booked space at an Aurora viewing establishment and lo and behold we did see the Aurora that night. It took a while for it to appear, but when visible the views were amazing. On renting a car, we did. Got a Jeep AWD and got around fine. The drive out to Chena Hot Springs was sketchy though. It helped to know about driving in snow as we're from Nebraska. Not sure I'd risk it if I weren't an experienced winter driver. Some advice: it got down to -25 the night we were Aurora viewing. Be sure to come with some serious winter clothing. I thought we did and we still froze!

    Hi Josh & Amy,
This is your new found buddy from Phoenix😊 Even though we did the dog mushing (our dog musher is also named Amy!), and Chena Hot springs with you, your video looks so good, I decided to forward that to my family & friends instead of sending them my own pictures/videos. Your videos and narration are that great! I had the same time as you at the ice museum but unlike you, didn't learn about its full history till now.
We were lucky to catch the Northern lights the day after we met you, and I raised my hot chocolate to the Northern Lights in yours & Amy's memory🤩 FYI the city buses go from Fairbanks to North Pole ($45 savings each way for the taxi) and if you are a Senior citizen, the bus rides are free!! We got a pre-arranged taxi, as Uber & Lyft services are bad in Fairbanks.
Really enjoyed talking to both of you, as you two are one of the nicest and most wholesome couples I ever met❤
Please continue to entertain and inform the rest of the world with your videos, narrations, insights & just being yourselves.

Ah man you guys missed them:( I just talked with this guy who was parked along the hwy here. He drove up from Oregon and stayed the night in Tok last night, said he got to see the northern lights right above his hotel and in the area. The days are nice and sunny and mostly clear, so great chance for them in the night time. So, you guys gotta come back again sometime:)
