Plus you can't custom order a vehicle and won't do dealer to dealer trades, so whatever they have are your choices. Big fan of Kia here (currently own Sorento PHEV), my suggestions for the Sportage 2023.5 update: get rid of the piano black and separate the controls for volume and HVAC
In this car and other Hyundai, Kia, Genesis cars, you just hit the lock button twice, or the remote start button, and it will shut off. No need to hold or repeat “remote start” steps
Which model is this? The hybrid GT Line in Europe has 265 HP combined, 180 for the engine and 90hp when you're in electric mode, same 4 cylinder 1.6 turbo engine.
Did you try doing what you do to turn the car on from the key fab, to turn the car off? Ex: my car is push twice button for on and to turn off from outside it is the same function.
You can actually have the car turn with you when using the fob you’ll have to be near it for it to working correctly and also the infotainment system you can adjusts the rest of settings for the trunk one of the best things about that car it’s 38mpg across the board I’ve seen as high as 44mpg
The lines are getting blurry with luxury amenities and the mainstream brands nowadays. Might not be worth spending the money just for the badge. Kia is killing it and has been for years. Nice job!
This beat out the Rav4, CX-5 or CX-50? I know the last two aren't hybrid, slightly unfair. Just drove the latter, and it was kinda nice....for an SUV....
Sounds like it’s under damped. Damping controls the springs, so over damped would too strongly stop the spring from compressing or rebounding and be jarring rather than floaty
Considering I mainly use the steering wheel for my audio controls, I'd just leave it in HVAC mode and set that as default as others have suggested that way if passengers what to change the radio it goes back to temp controls which I tend to futz with more
@@TheStraightPipes I owned the 2023 Sportage for a month now and I found that switching audio sources via the steering wheel "MODE" button will also change the screen. E.g I switch the audio source to Radio and my screen will automatically exit Carplay and goes to the Radio screen. If I switch audio back to Carplay, then the screen automatically switches back to Carplay. Also my screen automatically switches to Carplay when I plug my phone in. I have not needed to press the shortcut to Carplay in quite some time. Also I think a lot of people nowadays just live in Carplay/Android Auto and the Radio/Nav buttons are useless to them. If they use Radio/SiriusXM then I can see the buttons being inconvenient.
I'll just use the steering wheel controls for the volume. And use the screen for Android auto . There is a mode button to switch between streaming to.AM/FM and XM. On the steering wheel..
I love the look of the Sportage's interior over the Tucson, but I'm wondering how the "Leatherette" of the Sportage holds up and actually feels comfort wise compared with the real leather interior of the Tucson...🤔
The Sportage really does have everything going for it apart from its rear which makes it look cheap in my opinion compared to the Hyundai. If the Kia had a better exterior rear I would of went for it.
Well technically Sportage in Korean makes it sound like “spotigee” so I’d say US version of Sportage makes more sense. But I do like how it sounds in Canada SportAhhhHhHge :)
On the Genesis when you move the car using the key fob you tap the hold to start button and it'll shut off the car. I don't even know how I figured that out, I think I was doing the same thing as you all and figured there had to be a way to shut it off remotely and I started pushing buttons until something happened lol.
As the primary driver...I would only ever use that bar to adjust HVAC and use the steering wheel controls for the volume, radio, etc. My current vehicle...I never touch the audio controls on the centre stack. Those buttons have literally never been touched since the first day I owned the vehicle which is like 10 years ago. I would set the HVAC controls to show as default and never need to switch modes...like ever.
FYI and FWIW, underdamped is the correct term: Damping "...slows things down...", so underdamped equates to "...not slowed down sufficiently...": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damping
i could be wrong but i didnt hear if you guys stated the range of this vehicle, ya know the actual important stat for this type of SUV. As EVs are not quite there yet
4:27 noticed the speedometer jumps by an increment of 30km/h, going from 120 to 150 instead of the usual 20 km/h increment... now I'm trying to rack my brain wondering why? Is it to tick off those with OCD? Or is it to show a higher "top speed" than the competition? 🤣🤣 This has to be a specific Hyundai/Kia quirk

Yeah this looks fabulous. Love my sportage but it does not look good. Can't wait to update!
Nice job!
11:22 if you press and hold the remote start button again it’ll shut off.
This beat out the Rav4, CX-5 or CX-50? I know the last two aren't hybrid, slightly unfair.
Just drove the latter, and it was kinda nice....for an SUV....
For me in this segment, it is between the Tucson, Sportage, and CX 50
This is better than all of its competition. Hyundai Tucson is right behind this
I have one, if you hold the main button again after using the assist buttons it shuts down.
If it still bounces 2-3 times after hitting the initial road anomaly, it’s underdamped
Юрий здравствуйте. Подскажите пожалуйста, в версии hybrid есть запасное колесо или как и в plug in запаска непредусмотрена? Заранее спасибо
I just bought The X-Pro, I love it. Sport Mode makes a presence.
Sounds like it’s under damped. Damping controls the springs, so over damped would too strongly stop the spring from compressing or rebounding and be jarring rather than floaty
Are you guys not doing the box test anymore?
If you press and hold the remote start button after the vehicle starts it will power it back off.
The fact that they are driving and reviewing the car is the best part, rather than keep it stand still and talk about it.
Thank you
hybrid or phev ? what is better? how is 4wd on offroad? what kind of audio system this car come with? thanks for answers !
Considering I mainly use the steering wheel for my audio controls, I'd just leave it in HVAC mode and set that as default as others have suggested that way if passengers what to change the radio it goes back to temp controls which I tend to futz with more
But then your CarPlay shortcut key is gone
@@12100ji I use voice commands to change XM stations on my Prius. Does that work the same way on the Sportage?
When u doing the Trailblazer RS!?
The intro at the start was relaxing honestly.
I'll just use the steering wheel controls for the volume. And use the screen for Android auto . There is a mode button to switch between streaming to.AM/FM and XM. On the steering wheel..
I like the Sportage better the Tucson looks to flashy with all those lights imo
what happened to the box test?
I love the look of the Sportage's interior over the Tucson, but I'm wondering how the "Leatherette" of the Sportage holds up and actually feels comfort wise compared with the real leather interior of the Tucson...🤔
Thanks Yuri for not letting the climate control panel ruin your mood this time
It’s a car I would never consider because of it. BUT. whatever 😘
Press PTS button without holding to turn off....that usually works on my mom's 22 Tucson
Are the depreciation on Kia’s a lot faster than other cars?
I’m curious if that sunroof opens at all and I’m also curious if there is some sort of hard shade to block the sunroof so no light comes in
All the panoramic roofs have a sun-shade.
Got my wife one . We love it .. they’re quick and whole bang .
The Sportage really does have everything going for it apart from its rear which makes it look cheap in my opinion compared to the Hyundai. If the Kia had a better exterior rear I would of went for it.
*rear looks really good!*
Yesterday morning in Florida I saw a dark yellow Plymouth and it was convertible
Wait the Kia website I go to only offers Lx, Ex, and EX premium?
As the primary driver...I would only ever use that bar to adjust HVAC and use the steering wheel controls for the volume, radio, etc. My current vehicle...I never touch the audio controls on the centre stack. Those buttons have literally never been touched since the first day I owned the vehicle which is like 10 years ago. I would set the HVAC controls to show as default and never need to switch modes...like ever.
But ur 10 year old car doesn’t have CarPlay does it
If you press the remote start button again it should shut it off. At least thats how it works on all my vehicles
Crazy that adaptive cruise is only available on the top trim for this, at least in the US. The Corolla cross even has that…
FYI and FWIW, underdamped is the correct term: Damping "...slows things down...", so underdamped equates to "...not slowed down sufficiently...": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damping
i could be wrong but i didnt hear if you guys stated the range of this vehicle, ya know the actual important stat for this type of SUV. As EVs are not quite there yet
That is the same price point as a well equipped Sorrento. That gives a useable thrid row to kids, teens, and shorter adults for quick trips.
Eh, the sportage SX Prestige hybrid is $38k with AWD the Sorento S is about the same with AWD
Does the panoramic roof open or is it just a glass roof?
Love it when y’all drive normal people cars
2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid new body style looks great ! Interior looks well appointed & comfortable ! Slainte' ! Cheers !
Definitely something I'll be considering for my next car purchase for sure.
This has to be a specific Hyundai/Kia quirk
Are there any engine problems on this model of Kia Sportage Hybrid ? I heard old ones have some of engine problems.
