Hi. I’m so glad you explained what toad in a hole is. I was thinking it was more like a nested egg which is something my mom used to make for us. She would take a piece of bread, butter it and cut the center out, pop it in a frying pan and cook an egg inside. My gram used to make popovers which I think are the same as Yorkshire pudding. I myself have never had any good luck with having them rise the way my grandma did. I wish I could pull up a chair at your dinner table.
Hi Ali, I think I’ve just figured out why I feel so drawn to your podcasts! You’re never afraid to share your challenges in navigating the world around you and I love your sense of humor when the challenge doesn’t go well. I finally decided to try to send you a message on Instagram in an attempt to get better at social media. Nope! I started my message explaining my trouble with communicating via social media, my finger slipped, the half-message was sent, and I couldn’t figure out what to do next! 😵💫 So here I am, trying not to let my finger press something I shouldn’t, to let you know how much I love your podcasts! Over the years, I’ve become acquainted with you and your lovely family, the chickens, and Mia, of course. Your podcast is like having tea with a treasured friend and enjoying a moment of calm in a chaotic world. I wish you were my next door neighbor but I’m a long way off in Seattle. I’m sad that you have to put up with unwanted neighbor noise, as I’m also sensitive to noise and light. In the past, I’ve also had to contend with such behavior and understand how horrible it is. I finally bought some Bose noise-cancelling headphones so I could cope. They were expensive but well worth the cost to preserve my peace and sanity. 15 years later I still keep them fully charged at all times and have used them occasionally. Mostly it’s very helpful to know that I have a source of relief available. Sending much love and best wishes, Linda
Wow. 23 days in and I haven’t said thank you for keeping me company while I eat my dinner. I love you and your family and just love hearing about everything you are up to. I will miss you when October is over.
Hi Ali, I am absolutely loving your vlogtober episodes. I too prefer the fall and winter over summer. I actually dread the summer months but on a lighter note, I sent you the most adorable pattern on your Instagram yesterday. The pattern is written in the pages of the post. Thanks again!
Ohhh I must admit I liked the infiltration of Vlogmas. I've always enjoyed the present season and that's not going to change, but I've also always enjoyed autumn and its progression towards ever darker days as a natural crescendo towards the winter peak of the winter holidays ♥ it also served as a reminder that I'm so so behind with all the things I need to prepare for that time of the year. I have made Phoebe's cookies a week ago and gave some to my neighbours as well; needless to say they were very much appreciated and enjoyed, delicious!
I am so enjoying vlogtober and watch it everyday with my coffee. The dinner looked delicious, two of my favorite foods - Yorkshires and sausages. Every time I go back to Faversham I head to the pub for sausages, mash and veg. Here Yorkshire batter is pretty much like popover batter. Thanks for sharing your life and family with all of us! BTW there is a great yarn store in Faversham called The Yarn Dispensary if you’re ever in the area😍
Thank you so much for this vlogtober❤ please thanks your daughter for the cookies recipe they were delicious 😋 I will be making them again 😊no more boring cookies from the supermarket 😅 thank you 🙏🏽 so much ❤
Thanks, Ali. Dinner looked yummy. Love your cowl. I am knitting a shawl in the same yarn but it's amazing how crochet and knitting look so different. x
Your cowl looks lovely and the colour really looks gorgeous on you. I loved the Midnight Library so I’m off to find his the other book now! Also you’ve made me want Toad-in-the -Hole for dinner 🤣 XX
Nice Christmas ornaments. Soon be that time again. And black out curtains are great. I have them in every room of our house. Cowl looks lovely and cozy.
How to Stop Time was my first Matt Haig book and I loved it! I hope you love it too! I watch every day and love your vlogs Ali! I’ve been unwell this week and started watching some of your older ones again and it’s been so lovely to spend time with you and your family while I recover 🩷
French Knots are my favourite embroidery stitch because in my hands they're so unpredictable - sometimes I make the perfect knot and it makes me ridiculously happy 😊. Chrissie Crafts had a good tutorial on French Knots - I think she's changed her UA-cam name but it's easy to find x
So appreciative of you and your family doing Vlogtober for us!!! Yea sounded yummy! Love the cowl! I look forward to tomorrow and hopefully a flygaric update.
How nice for all of you getting to spend time with Lillia on her break! Your cowl looks lovely! For your fright night x-stitch if it looks like you need something more in place of those words you might consider adding another star or two? Or not! 😅
Watching all your vlogtobers Ali, as I wouldn’t miss them for quids! ⭐️. Well done with the Yorkshire puddings, my Nan used to make them just in one large cake tin pan & they were to die for 😇. However I tried for a good part of my younger life when my kids were young, to cook Yorkshire pudding, but it just never worked out. But my forgiving kids always said they were very yummy 🤣. Brings back wonderful memories 👏. Lovely cowl, by the way! Cheers 🥰👏❤️🤗💕😍
I’m so curious about Yorkshire pudding. I think I will look for a recipe and try to make it. Tomorrow I’m canning Apple Butter, hopefully it turns out well. Thanks for the Vlog!😊
Thanks for a terrific video Ali.i loved seeing all the Christmas tree ornaments! I’m hoping I can find the Jeff Koons balloon dog here in Australia to put on my tree this year. Cheers Chris 🇦🇺😁
Egg in a nest (a piece of fried bread with an egg cooked in a hole cut out of the middle) is what my father in law calls toad in a hole. The UK version sounds yummy too!
Loving vlogtober Ali all the videos have been fab been watching them all and crocheting along while doing so 🧶 making two different continuous/infinite granny square blankets, a regular crochet blanket, a daisy granny square blanket, granny stitch rectangle blanket and a hexi cardigan and then have two main knitting blanket projects and a couple other background knitting projects
When you do a french knot, dont pull your thread too tightly and i normally don't put it back in the same hole but one thread over on your aida. If all else fails, use black beads instead x
Your dinner looked and sounded absolutely delicious. I still need to read The Midnight Library. I forgot about that book. Also, I read The Red Notebook after you talked about it. I loved it.
Thank you for explaining Toad In the Hole & Yorkshire Pudding. I had heard of them but didn't know what was in them. Here in the US those are not recipes we fix.
Have you come across the monthly magazine "The Simple Things"? It might be in your magazine collection wotsit thingy. It's lovely. I even like the paper they use. It feels really organic. I get the hard copy (not in to digital!). Podcasts are available, too.
Thought I was the only person who doesn't like fruit in scones 😅 In Scotland I got treacle scones, I don't like treacle, but honestly, it was the best scone I ever had 😋

Vlogtober is flying past! Love the cowel, it looks fab! ☺️💛
Lovely vlog as always Ali. Yorkshire puds 😋 Cross stitch 🤩 Mia ❤ The cowl turned out really well, looks great on you. I like cowls more fitted too.

I 100% agree with Lillia I’ve listened to all the books in the series I enjoyed it 😊

I had a "not my cat" that the neighbors left behind when they moved because she chose me. Their household was pure chaos, mine was calmer 😊
Ours was opposite, our household is chaos and she chose us. 😂
One more week of Vlogtober left wow! I'm enjoying each episode so much ❤

"Not my cat" has definitely become your cat, Ali! The cowl looks so pretty.

Hi Ali, thanks for doing Vlogtober. I enjoy your videos. They are fun and inspirational. 😊

That color really suits you.

Loved the colours of the scarf you crochet …. I always wondered about thorns and roses the book … I hope lillia had time for her book reviews ❤
Oh very lovely cowl Ali. I think your Vlogtober is fabulous 😊
I’m so curious about Yorkshire pudding. I think I will look for a recipe and try to make it. Tomorrow I’m canning Apple Butter, hopefully it turns out well. Thanks for the Vlog!😊
I made Phoebe's cookies today. My family told me to keep that recipe. They are delicious!!!! The Cadbury chocolate is a perfect touch.
My day was difficult back in work after 9 days off but I survived. Thank you for all the work on getting videos out
Thanks for a terrific video Ali.i loved seeing all the Christmas tree ornaments! I’m hoping I can find the Jeff Koons balloon dog here in Australia to put on my tree this year. Cheers Chris 🇦🇺😁

You absolutely have to keep going with the ACOTAR books. Then tell us what you think of Nesta.
Hi from Australia, really enjoying your Vlogs. Have a great day.

Oh my giddy aunt……. Christmas baubles before Halloween - what’s going on🙈🎃👻🧙♀️
Your purple cowl looks like the knitted Sockhead Cowl, which I've made several of because they are tight fitting and perfect for our cold winters!
I loved it.
Love the cowl, I'm working on my cardi. Been busy crocheting blankets to donate to women's refuges at Xmas.
Thank you for explaining Toad In the Hole & Yorkshire Pudding. I had heard of them but didn't know what was in them. Here in the US those are not recipes we fix.
Christmas tree baubles lions head ?… popcorn ????? What ?
The cowl looks very pretty
Loving your vlogs Ali xx
❤🐈❤🐈 love & hugs, Suze. 🤗 xxx
Your cowl is very pretty!
Mia, the old girl is still more yours than your neighbours. The shops are deffinatly filling up with Christmas. I made toad in the hole this week too.
Look forward to your videos.
Have you come across the monthly magazine "The Simple Things"? It might be in your magazine collection wotsit thingy. It's lovely. I even like the paper they use. It feels really organic. I get the hard copy (not in to digital!). Podcasts are available, too.
❤❤❤
Christmas tree baubles are bonkers these days!
Love the vlogs Ali. Look forward to them. How is your knitted cardigan doing? Love the yarn you dyed!
Instead of the words you could add a couple more stars. Very cute cross stitch.
❤
Thought I was the only person who doesn't like fruit in scones 😅
In Scotland I got treacle scones, I don't like treacle, but honestly, it was the best scone I ever had 😋
Your cross stitch project, if you don’t do the words will what will the spider be hanging from?
Hi Ali! What shop did you see the Bubble Tea Van Christmas ornament in? I know someone who would love that 😅
Ali did you use DK or 4 ply for your cowl? #question
I started the cowl yesterday Ali. Did you go down to 3.5 hook after the rib? 🧶🍄🍂🎃
Will Dan show of his knitted hat, please?
In USA, toad in the hole is, a fried slice of toast with a center hole and a fried eye in the hole.
#lurkingdanfan😊
Think that's egg in a basket here
Who's eye do you use🥴
I hate doing french notes. I can never make them consistent so I cheat and use a bead.
❤
