I literally just came back from backtraining, Im a 53 year old Bodybuilder and since ive always trained heavy, i decided to give my nervous system a break today. I trained a lot less heavy, but contracted and squeezed the shit out of my muscles. I already know my back is gonna hurt tomorrow. Lee is right. FEEL the back. If you lose the contraction, go lighter.
Good advice man. I see all the same mistakes from people yi described. Lawnmower reference almost made me spit my coffee up. Never used to get sore after back workout, do now. Using good form and feeling is helluva lot more important than going heavy with shitty form. Godbless
it took me too long to learn to drop the weight. i kept wanting to go heavier and heavier. perfect example, i was doing incline db curls with 45's and very clearly not using great form, delts getting in there, too much swinging.. did not get much pump. i switched to 20's, STRICT form, and ROAST my biceps now.
A lot of bodybuilders keep emphasizing that. Even Arnold said don't focus on the weight, focus on the muscle. Get that hypertrophy going. Maximize physique and gain some strength. Go heavy if you don't care about physique and want to maximize strength gains.
Lee is on a whole other level to his competition. I love hearing Jay Cutler describe the first time he saw a truly enormous bodybuilder and how that literally shocked the shite outta him. That bodybuilder was Lee Priest! Jay said that literally NO ONE compared to Lees size, definition and aesthetics. All these decades later and Lee STILL looks a hundred times better than anyone you’ve ever seen down your gym or walking about! Lee you are a @#£%in LEGEND mate!
Hello Lee, my name is Harold Strickland I am 69 years old now, when I was in the 9th grade we had a weight lifting contest against all junior high schools in West Virginia, the first place winners receive a 1 year membership to the YMCA here in Charleston WV, the after the contest I found that I won the contest all hands down, I trained at YMCA till they closed 10 years later, the Charleston news paper was up in the weight room wanting to to do the bench press for him, I was warming up with 225 lbs with 20 easy reps, I have the picture of that day on my wall at home, look at it daily. After the old YMCA closed down, they reopen the new YMCA, it wasn't the same, I went to other local gym, kept training till I lost my job at that time, so I had to get a low paying job, at that time I couldn't train any more due to low wages, I postponed my train till about 43 years later, after I retired from United Dairy, that's when I started training at home, that was in September 2016, now I am training hard as ever, I will train till my last breath, weight training always been my greatest passion through out my life. I really appreciate all your videos Lee, I all muscle groups twice a week, each body part has a 3 day rest, that works great for me, I am seeing gains every week now, my max bench press back the day was 300Ibs, I would to see me benching that heavy again one day, it takes years of hard work and dedication, we all are gladiators and warriors Lee 👍👍
My goodness.... What a truly sincere genuine guy u are lee! The difference in someone whos done it all and has nothing to prove to anyone.... U sir are a credit to bodybuilding regardless of titles trophy's dimensions...... Genuine heart felt good advice..... Why havnt u been on here years ago!! Thank u.
Aussie Legend. No bullshit. Kinda intimidated by the face tatts Lee. Dude has always been symmetrical & huge for his stature, polite & forthcoming. Thanks Lee. Go the Victa 2-Stroke mate😁👍🤘
Absolutely spot on. It drives me nuts when I see guys leaning so far back on these movements. The back should be straight. Same with the rows. So many people are so upright that all they are doing are shrugs.
Thanks much for this one Lee. It's a great video on the proper technique to use when training the back. This was an "old school" lesson in correct training from one of the greatest bodybuilders ever. 💪🏆 MUSCLE UP!
This man your watching is a legend! Like Jay Cutler says Lee at 20 years old was a FREAK!! He was insane The absolutely best arms of all time ...look up the picture of Lee priest side tricept shot with Tom platz I used to have that on my wall for years!
Lee your one cool dude😎you definitely don’t have a shit back lol.. and you will always be the king of arms! Back in the 80’s you were my hero and quite frankly still are.. nobody had triceps like yours
Thanks for this Lee. Simple makes sense advice. Tired of a million new ways to do this and that videos. I'm 52, been bodybuilding for 35 years. I've reduced my rowing range and locked my muscles in before any back work now. And it is the best it has ever been.
the man, top bloke, so i was right all along just as i do them all. some people just don't get it, i never believed in mind muscle connection before, i do now, 8 years in. if ya dont feel it, it aint working.
These are the people to heed advice from, not the shirtless bullshitters with their stupid variations of exercises just looking for suckers to follow them
A good way to understand how to properly dumbbell row is to go do some sets on the old school hammer strength low row - the machine completely takes your arms out of it and really makes you kind of SWING your lats backwards.
Lee Priest has got monster sized muscles and is the only bodybuilder that does not include ego lifting... that means Lee Priest is the most intelligent bodybuilder.
Gives so much great advice and I’ve followed every thing he’s spoke about ive learnt so much from the preacher preist he’s has me laughing my head off with some of his comments this guy is 1 of the legends in the sport but there is nobody I’n the sport of bodybuilding has his character I personally believe no one the sport can come close to lee fur his honestly and straight talking jay cutler speaks so highly of the crazy oz back here in South Wales myself and my buddies talk about you lee alll the time you are a another’ level from watt you achieved on bodybuilding and your even more of a legend from yr utube videos 👌👌👌👌
Well explained Lee.I try so hard to not get arms on back training definitely a thought and technique to it.Anyways mate love your honesty as always.Newy local similiar aged.Keep up the good work helping others.Loving the Species supplements to.I really find the day time and nighttime fat burners work well.Ive got of the subject abit there but new to commenting Haha
Great INFO....again, but I find that with T-bar rows I get a much better 'feel' and stretch if I stand on a block of wood and start the moment leaning all the way back then pulling my body forward as I lift the weight- like a rowing movement kinda thing if you get what I mean, lol. Really as with all movements, the reps should be performed strictly and most importantly - the mind muscle connection bit.
“Don’t pull the dumbbell like you’re trying to start the lawnmower!” 😂😂😂
Classic Lee 🤣🤣
Start the lawnmower
@@nycwizrd8348 Make sure you yank it really hard to work your traps as wel.
He’s hilarious
I'm guilty of starting the lawn mower
Always loved Lee's physique. The symmetry and balance he brought with size too. A true legend
Lee's gotta have some big bones, his arms are bigger than many taller men.

No music, just Lee talking calmly. I have never seen Lee so calm. Omg how amazing and informative 🙏
Lee has comedian’s personality and is a riot but his workout advice is thorough and well thought out.
We simply call that personality Australian. Where they take the piss, have good humor as well as tell it like it is

NOT only did JAY cutler say that about him, but RONNIE COLEMAN said LEE is the defeat that hurts him the most 🔥 🔥

I've always enjoyed watching Lee Priest train. Absolutely spot-on perfect form: every exercise, every rep.
Keep these coming, as long as Mr. Priest is willing, 0 BS, and nothing to prove, just telling it how it is!! THANK YOU!!
I love these training videos by Lee!

Love the video. Lee has always been humble and no BS. The training video is very helpful!
My most favorite bodybuilder ever, and I like how he doesn't beat around the bush and straight talk
Love Lee's honesty and sincerity, but also love that he still trains and doesn't look like a twig like many of the pros that give up competing...
Biggest back i ever got was 4 simple exercises. pull ups, rack deadlifts, dumbell row and shrugs.
His forearms and triceps … just wow :)
Lee is the most gifted athlete ive ever seen and i love the way he speaks to the peoples..i am taking notes sir.i like your back

Around 7:32 you can tell he forgot where he was for a moment and was just completely in the moment, enjoying the feeling of his muscles contracting.
The lat pull down tip to squeeze the lats first and then pull has been very helpful, thank you sir.
Very well done. I like the way Lee does these videos. Love his calm, cool, direct approach. He is a excellent teacher and
Communicates very well.
gaining muscle doesn't always require heavy weights....what it *does* require is intensity.
Thanks Lee❤
Kinda fell into this on accident. Had no idea Lee had newer videos out. Awesome video.
thank you Lee my respect to you a true legend
Always a good video with Lee! I’d like to see how you train rear delts!
What great advice. Thanks Lee
Lee seems like one of the chillest dudes u could meet
Lee, in my opinion, is the most underrated pro of all time. He should have placed much higher, and more often, than he did when competing.
Thanks priest. I learn a lot from your way of getting your point across. “You don’t need to train your ego, you need to train your back”
Let’s all talk Lee into a come back he’s still got it!
Great advice Lee. Can’t wait to see more.😊
Definitely a guy I hope to train with one day! Great fucking video Lee
