The Amazing Rhythm Aces. Russell Smith had an amazing voice, he seemed to have a knack for hiring top notch backing musicians, they had a cult following back in the 70s Nice job on picking this one apart.
Mark Excellent rendition of third rate romance. A good friend asked me to learn it as it is one of his (and his wife) favorite songs. You mentioned you have the tab(s) for the song. How do I get a copy of the tabs?
Enjoy your lessons very much...good teaching technique for those of us who are a bit thick and not natural musicians...I appreciate your efforts and have expanded my repertoire nicely thanks to you.. Is there a chance of getting that little riff that comes after he says "I'll even tell you that I love you if you want me to" ? Also I would like the tab you mentioned in the video if it isn't to much problem. Thanks again. Steve
+palerider333 Hi Steve. Thanks for the kind comments. Here's a link to the tab. www.dropbox.com/s/1lqpz6fii5re0bv/Third%20Rate%20Romance.pdf?dl=0 I can put that lick into another video. Maybe what I could do is put it into a "filler licks" type of lesson. Would that make sense?
Hi James. I'm sorry, but I think I made this one on my Trio+ looper pedal, so it's long gone. I found this, but it may not be what you want: ua-cam.com/video/FLhXERnoZ8s/v-deo.html
Hi. It doesn't sound like I'm using any pedals on this one. You could put a tiny amount of reverb on it and use a little compression to give it a country tone.
Yeah, this is good. Thanks. Just wish you'd done it in A, where evryone else plays it. Unless you're Guthrie Trapp, it takes mucho tiempo to transpose it down a fret.

pbourkas Glad I did it then!! :) I'm always happy to help!

Thanks very understandable lesson, the application of these double stops are endless.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for showing the simplicity in such a cool piece of work.
You're welcome. It's really nice and melodic ... and simple as you say. Thanks for watching!
Mark you are just amazing! Thank you so much! This part is dead on!
Buddy Martin Thanks Buddy! Glad you liked it. Hope the explanation is fairly clear. Let me know if you want the tab.
Excellent job. I would love to have the tab.

You bet!
Great lesson .
Thanks James!

Mark, great lesson! If you could include me when you send the tab I'd appreciate it. Thanks again!
+Delevision You bet. Tab is coming right up.
+Delevision Hi. I just put the link in the description. Let me know if that works for you!
+Mark Zabel Perfect! Thanks so much for taking the time to do that.

+Mark Zabel...that would be most excellent. I will be watching for it. Thanks again for your efforts.
Steve
Good lesson! Do you have the other fills available?
Thanks. This is the only lesson I have done on this song.
Great Job!
Can you share the strum pattern for someone who just wants to strum the chords?
Thanks,
Thanks. I'm sorry, I've never had a use for strum patterns, so I don't want to lead you astray with the wrong pattern.
@@MarkZabel Thanks anyway Mark! I had a teacher with the name Zabel in grade school in Michigan. Maybe a relative?
I'm from Michigan. The name Zabel is not uncommon though, so they may or may not be related.
Now mind you I was a first grader when I had the teacher. But her name was Sime Zabel but I'm not sure of the spelling.
Either way have a great one!
Where can I get the rhythm track , great lesson.

Just found you. Good class. How do I get tab?
'Thanks! Click on the link in the description where it says, "FREE Tabs".
You mentioned a Tablature? I'm old and slow!
There's a link in the video description. It says "FREE Tabs". Go ahead and click that.
What pedal are you using? Thanks

What is so hard? Just drop everything down one fret for A.
Dude its hard to see which fingers are playing which strings
The tab might help you. Linked in description.
I think your playing this song too sharp, it sound higher pitch.
Nope. I explain all of this at 0:37 in the video. I'm playing it in Bb as Sammy Kershaw did it. The Amazing Rhythm Aces played it in A.
@@MarkZabel Ok, sorry. I stand corrected. Nice job!
@@ClassicJukeboxBand Thanks!
I play it in A. I think that's where it was recorded and is easier to sing. IMHO.
Sammy Kirshaw did it a little different and in the key he sings in. So, either way it is played the same, just one fret up.
Great tune Mark . Almost didn’t recognize you ❤! Congratulations on your continued success
Thanks!
