    Bought some based on this review along with the new v2 jacket in black. Using the tech 5 air too. Perfect for me. Thanks for your help.

    I own these and they are very comfortable as well as have excellent protection in the knee area. Seem like excellent leather too and perforation panels are a nice addition.

      The knee armor is held in place in the same manner Alpinestars does with their race suits. Good to go, plenty of protection. - Van

    I highly recommend any riders to get specific motorcycle riding pants (jeans, textile, leather). They last longer during a slide compared to regular casual pants. I've gone down once and I wore the AGV Leather Pants which kept me very well protected when I went wide on a sharp turn and into a large patch of grass. No road rash or no bruises.

    Hey Van, thank you for always coming through with THE BEST gear reviews anywhere! My question, I just ordered Alpinestars Missile v2 Airflow pants and then I came across these Track v2 pants. I like these for the knee protection on the outside (they also seem to "match" my Missle v2 Ignition jacket better as far as the hardened outside protection). I will likely see track time mid-year although I am mostly a weekend canyon rider. Would you recommend these over the Missle v2 Airflow pants? I also don't see that they come in "short" versions as I have a shorter inseam. Your feedback is always much appreciated!

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 роки тому +3

      IMO the difference between the two is not massive. If you want to get these to match better then go for it. In terms of overall protection I would not say these will be more protective than the others in any real tangible way. - Van

    This pants are the pair of the Atem v3 leather jacket? Or there's a specific one for the Atem?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  3 роки тому +1

      No the Track V Pants are sold separate from the Atem Jacket and can be used with any of the Alpinestars leather jackets. - Van

    Hi Van great review do these V2 track pants ride up your body while you’re riding?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 роки тому +1

      I have not and will not be riding in these pants. While I would not expect these to ride up we are all shaped a little differently. When you receive the pants you will want to pair them up with your riding jacket then sit on your bike (do not take them for a ride until you know you are happy) and make sure you are satisfied with the fit an feel. - Van

    Hey, probably not the best place to ask, but I would still like to know... I bought the Missile V3 Airflow Leather pants half a year ago and they felt super slippery on my 2021 MT-09 SP seat. Like I couldn't even sit normally on the seat when accelerating, kept sliding backwards. Is that normal? Is that like how the leather pants are supposed to work? I've been using Kevlar jeans by Alpinestars up until now, these "stay put" fine :). I'm asking because I've booked my first beginners track day 2 months from now and I feel like I shouldn't be showing up in the jeans there, but thinking the slippery feeling wouldn't much benefit me either.. Thanks!

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  Рік тому +2

      I would expect a little of that when they are new but it will go away with use and time. If you have put any leather conditioner on them that would most likely make it worse so I would stay away from that. You could also throw some tank pads on the bike and give the tank a little squeeze with your legs if you feel like you are about to slide back. TechSpec or Stompgrip. We use TechSpec on all of our race bikes to help us get more locked in. Here is a link to some kits on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/parts/yamaha/mt-09/2021/?_bc_fsnf=1&Department=Tank+Pads

    Hi van, i was wondering how good this pants are against road rash. Considering they are made for track, i was hoping they would be pretty good. What do you think? Thanks in advance

    I'm stuck between 46 and 48... I wear a 46 Astar sp1 jacket and they are pretty snug which I prefer. But my inseam and thigh circumference are in size 48, while hip and waist is 46. I have a 30-31 inch waist. I'm about 5'7 to 5'8 and 154 pounds, athletic yet a bit chunky build. Hope you can help me out here, thanks.

    So, would you say this has upgraded knee protection from the original Track Pant, given the TPU on the knee ... or is the knee area constructed differently under the TPU (ie ‘in exchange for’ the TPU, so to speak ... ?)
    Also, nice watch, Brian 😎 ... What is it?
    Cheers, K

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  3 роки тому +1

      I would say this is their standard knee armor used in the race suits and will do an excellent job. To be fair I do not remember what was used in the previous version but would expect it to be similar.
      The watch is an Invicta. They are inexpensive and awesome! - Van

    I’m stuck between the two sizes 50 & 52. I can get in the 50 and they don’t feel too uncomfortable. The guys at the shop said the leather will stretch. The 52 seem a bit buggy around the bum and crotch but are slightly longer offering more fit around the knee area. Would you recommend I stick with the 50s and let them stretch. I’m 6’1 with a 32 inch waist. Tia

    Seems also if you don't need a 1 piece suit you can tailor jacket and pant sizing differently to get better fit?.....after few weeks of debating 2 vs 1 I went for 2pc.....size 48 in pants and 52 in jacket (already had).....if I ever start riding track I'll cross that bridge for 1 pc...
    Just bought these pants as they were $40 more than the missle

      Yes there is a reasonable amount of airflow from these. Very similar to wearing a 1 piece suit when paired with a jacket in terms of airflow. - Van

      You can use these in any season that you feel comfortable wearing them in. The only thing I would not do is purposefully ride in them in the rain over and over (getting caught in the rain once and a while is not an issue). - Van

    The only problem with that is the pants fit but the jacket is too big. 😆. Usually the arms are too long. Too bad you cant pay an additional premium to mix and match the jackets and pants.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 роки тому +1

      All of the pants will come with both sides of the zipper. If you have a jacket that does not zip to the pants you can take the combo to a tailor had have them sew the other half of the zip to the jacket. - Van
