Remember when fire and ice was completely broken in 4U to the point where you could just get a single round slash and the blast would give GS equivalent damage?
the instant tenderizer combo can also be accessed by dodge > triangle > circle 2x > L2 as well instead of circle 3x > L2 it is slightly faster and you can fit it in much more easily during a monster's claw flinch animation compared to circle 3x, allowing you to tenderize immediately when the monster is claw flinched
There is an easier way to instantly tenderize during a clagger, dodge forward -> triangle -> double circle -> L2. Its also a little bit easier to target a specific part since it doesnt reposition you that much. It does less dmg then going full circle but a clagger sometimes isnt long enough. Thought this might help 👍
I personaly do not recommend this neither find it easier, also its an additional move you will run out of time to clutch on the monster but thanks for sharing! Everyone has his own ways

I was once a Hammer Bro...until I switched to Dual Blades and realized how much faster I can shred the monster down rather than waiting for opportunities to get a headshot stun combo. Thanks to you, I was able to join with my new friends on pc when I switched from console and now I'm a Dual Blades main.
*MOUSE AND KEYBOARD* (with iceborne - idk whats different without it but i heard something is) normal attack (triangle attack) = lmb (left mouse button) special attack (circle attack) = rmb (right mouse button) demon dance/demon flurry = lmb+rmb demon mode = mouse4 (button on the side of your mouse) aim slinger (hold)/evade slinger shot/claw attack (in the instant tenderizing combo) = c aim slinger (toggle) = mmb (middle mouse button) evade = spacebar dash/sheathe weapon = shift PS: special attack is how game calls circle attacks/rmb attacks sliding (with weapon drawn) counts as special attack - is done with rmb
demon flurry has awesome s so eaven if you use all of your stamina you can dodge attacks by using that to go trough the attacks without worrying about getting hit. it has saved me many times.
Good video, but you forgot about backdash, I feel like it's a good situational defencive option that lets you keep your damage uptime more. Especially good on someone like Nergigante who has very reactable short frontal attacks, you can hit him in the head, backdash, Circle in and keep damaging him for free.
I kind of got tired of element DB so I did some random 3 pc safi 3 pc teostra combo with safi shatter claws. Balancing max resentment with 100% affinity is rather fun to me.
For my build I go with full safi beta and kjarr weapons with regeneration and elements augments. I also put lv 3 medicine skill since it increases both the weapon regeneration and the safi regeneration. It makes an excellent high elemental damage build that still provides comfort if you need to heal and let’s you dodge through attacks with evade window.
To be honest, the kjaar dbs are the best thing to happen to dbs in iceborne. Opened up sooooo many more builds. I personally went with this set up for them: Health augment, rest in element Full safi armor Maxed element, CB, WE, Health Boost, blight res and item prolonger 5 atk boost(maxed with mantles) 3 latent power and evasion window Protective Polish Disables most annoyances, speeds up dbs and have a big damage boost on top. Can heal more than safi can drain so the armor is a free potion every 5 to 8 secs lol. I find that having dodges be at half stamina is a great boon to defense, specially with 3 evade window. Works amazingly well and its very consistent. With all affinity skills active it can get close to 100% on the air beyblade atk. Its a shit ton of fun :3
At the Lesson 7: You can double circle slash from a demon dodge + 1 triangle, and from the 2 triangle + direction left or right triangle. This will most likely not over shoot you from the part you want to tenderize.
the tenderize combo is useful for dodging as well example being avoiding fatalis fire explosions and some fire attacks. if timing is right. Really useful on rajang and at velk cuz it's fast enough to where they don't do the grapple

It was fine until barioth but after that the pace of combat is on another level which the move seems to be falling very behind, you dont have 3-4 seconds of the monster staying still so you hit, nevermind hitting the part you were aiming for. Most of the time i dont have 2 seconds. It feels so far behind i will probably stop using it unless specific conditions are met. Yes once you learn the fight you might pull it off sometimes, but if its going to be like that, the fight is already trivialized enough you dont really need the move anyway.
As a dual blade main your tutorial is very helpful specially the devil furry rush in the evade slinger that i have no idea to how pull of that i been missing in most of my hunt now i been practicing in area hoping to be as good as you

I dont know I like using marathon runner I feel safer using it cause sometimes I forget im in demon mode. It adds cushion just in case I last minute realize Im still in demon mode haah

I know I love running TCE because the Silver Los armor is my favorite looking armor ever since my PSP days. I love the look of the B set with the A set waist.
Very good video ! :) The only thing i saw is that i think you can't call that a "complete build" if you don't show all the combos, even if they are worthless. I don't care about learning them as i know they are behind in terms of damage, but maybe show them and compare the damage to show visual proof that they are not good enough to be used. There's not much to it, you can do Triangle - Triangle - Circle is the monster is moving away, but it's not very fluid. Triple circle combo is only good as a setup for tenderizing or in very very niche situations when you need to hit the monster's body part that's right above you. Circle into triangle combo is good for repositioning and chasing the monster, but it is very intuitive to do that.
I've been playing since MH4, but never really felt a strong desire to play dual blades. The whetfish quest was the impetus I needed to give DBs a chance. I was surprised to hear that Marathon Runner isn't a good skill for the weapon. Thanks for saving me time and embarrassment! I've known for a long time that Whetfish Fins are an efficient way to activate Protective Polish, but I've never understood why so few people seem to do it. Like you mentioned, you're going to have windows of opportunity to sharpen, and it takes only about one second to do so. I assumed that building 100% Affinity Master's Touch came with some other benefit for which I hadn't accounted, and/or that no one used Protective Polish because people calculated that performing even one cycle of sharpening had an unacceptably detrimental effect on clear times compared to building for Master's Touch. Regarding the merits of Protective Polish compared to Master's Touch, does this apply to other melee weapons as well?

This guy told me to attack the head meanwhile im going for all bodyparts to get the most drops and most chances of getting extra items. Also getting rid of tail on specific monsters neuters them especially rathian. though head is a asap priority for me when elder dragons are below a certain health threshhold. cuz horn breaks make em easier basically just a effect similar to elderseal weakening them a looot on top of a topple.
I want to have a secondary weapon because I use ls as my main since I primarily play dps rolls and my ls build will work well with the dual blades due to similar mechanic, and we all know attack boost works on any build
this is helpful,my friend always laugh at me because I only play dual blades and they think dual blades do very little damage,It's time to prove to them（google translate😅）
My friends always thought they did the most damage as well since they use the big sword boiis, had them use damage meter mods to compare damage in a run and I consistently do a lot more damage than them using DB, they ain't teasing DB no more.
the dmg increase on the safi + velk set is 1% without coal active and 4% while active just wanted to point that out. that said I still don't like it because if you miss a full blade dance you're down to half hp already lol
Axel Müller coal is not accounted. Tce can run coal aswell. Its more about the health regen, if you use health regen resentment wont work so you will have the damage + a handicap anyways 2% in a hunt are like 300 aditional damage
I'm seeing alot of people saying that you say marathon runner is useless but I can't find where you say it. I hear you say constitution is useless tho at a certain level? Also you left out one thing about the sixfold slash. If you land the last hit of the combo it makes arch demon gauge jump by like a little over 50%. Making it the fastest way to charge the gauge.
Lol on my current build, I can only fit either lvl 3 marathon runner or lvl 3 stamina surge, I tried testing each one on my hunts but MR works better for me. Having less stamina consumption during demon mode means more stamina to use on dodging. With lvl 3 MR is like drinking dash juice just without the stamina consumption reduction when dashing. I watched every dual blade vid you make i like them alot, but I think its better not to tell to your every viewers that MR is a waste it still depends on their preference and playstyle.
Chris James Except constitution is for dodging and not MR, MR doesnt come to make a visible effect since it doesnt reduce stamina when dodging. Also dual blades are not about staying longer in demon mode

Curious how you feel about putting a point of silver rathalos essence on saif DBs just for comfort. Yes I know it's not optimal for pure DPS, but a lot of the silver rathalos pieces are kind of trash and it can be hard to fit skills like health boost (which I always want in my set) when you're running four pieces of silver rathalos. And yes, I realize you had health boost on your sets but you were also using tenderize/vitality jewels...which I still don't have a single one of even after hundreds of hours of deco farming...
Kevadu You lose 30 element for alot of more comfort, dont be very skeptic about min maxing as long the build has most important skills in. I always just display they best possible builds so people have a base to build
I have a second pair of Hellclaws with Silver Essence I use mainly against Kirin. Able to swap in the Acidic Glavenus gauntlets for Stun Resistance and Thunder Resistance that way. Works great.

Is Brachy legs good for 4 pc Silverlos (Fire/Ice/Water/Dragon) or is it prefer Brachy head? Awesome guide, it really cut down my hunt time & much appreciated for taking time to make it.
You should mention that this is for console purely for now since the title update won't come out till next week. With that said the meta for PC DBs are Safi+CE and not TCE since the numbers on this video do not take into account that PC doesn't have Raging Brachy and the Challenger 5 charm yet which significantly boosts the damage on console builds compared to PC. So instead of Safi+CE being a negligible improvement to TCE, the difference is actually quite noticeable on PC for now anyways.
it doesnt take agi 5 into account. Safi + Velk is still more damage for water ,ice and dragon. However 1-2% is legit useless since it wont make any difference in a hunt and you also can not run healthregeneration to keep up resentment. TCE is by Miles superior, more damage doesn't mean faster/better hunt. especially when 1 % in a solo hunt is like 200 damage which is 2 additional hits.
Im making several status and element DBs with kjarr DBs and full safi armor. Killed a brutal tigrex without dying or healing augments. Need to boost level up my resentment charm
So when you have a very big opening you do 3x triangle -> triangle+circle and then? Do you continue with another triangle+circle or repeat 3x triangle -> triangle+circle??
Covered a build video for brachy a week or 2 ago, brachy are as strong as raw safi, just raw dual blades on their own are '' bad '' but you can use them as an all around dual blades if youre lazy to craft for each element. Its really not that tragic to use raw blast
Do you like being a detriment to your team? Is pressing more than one button hurting your brain? Pick DB And stunlock your teammates, because it's not always possible to get flinch free to account for spammers. :P
@@ReverentGhost There's no need to gimp your build, if people use common sense. ;) But for you I would a rando-proof build. Certain attacks that send you flying can't be avoided with FF. Like people using wyvern fire near teammates, uppercuts from GS, Hammers, CB , SA. "Everyone has to account for my inconsiderate behaviour, I don't have to be careful. They should have all brought FF" that's how you sound.

@@ReverentGhost If you're charging up a move and having power charge on, and you're moving or standing you already have flinch free 1. You can get interrupted out of power charge if you're not charging. Which is probably not even the case if you're near a monster.
So, I deleted my comment out of anger, because I realized I can stack elemental V on safi blades in more than 1 slot, and I didn't know that, I really didn't, and now I am so mad at me... so ty for the info

While not the best endgame, Velk+Namielle is a comfy midgame build as you can get it before MR70 (where you unlock Silverlos).

This guy told me to attack the head meanwhile im going for all bodyparts to get the most drops and most chances of getting extra items. Also getting rid of tail on specific monsters neuters them especially rathian.
though head is a asap priority for me when elder dragons are below a certain health threshhold. cuz horn breaks make em easier basically just a effect similar to elderseal weakening them a looot on top of a topple.

I want to have a secondary weapon because I use ls as my main since I primarily play dps rolls and my ls build will work well with the dual blades due to similar mechanic, and we all know attack boost works on any build

this is helpful,my friend always laugh at me because I only play dual blades and they think dual blades do very little damage,It's time to prove to them（google translate😅）
My dad was like “You do 13 damage tops’ and like, yeah, if I stab once nothing much, BUT THESE WEAPONS ARE DOR FLURRIES.
My friends always thought they did the most damage as well since they use the big sword boiis, had them use damage meter mods to compare damage in a run and I consistently do a lot more damage than them using DB, they ain't teasing DB no more.
the dmg increase on the safi + velk set is 1% without coal active and 4% while active just wanted to point that out. that said I still don't like it because if you miss a full blade dance you're down to half hp already lol
Axel Müller coal is not accounted. Tce can run coal aswell. Its more about the health regen, if you use health regen resentment wont work so you will have the damage + a handicap anyways 2% in a hunt are like 300 aditional damage
He means marathon runner that reduces continuous stamina depletion instead of constitution that reduces fixed stamina depletion during demon mode.
Marathon runner is useless, I mentioned & explained in the video.

I'm seeing alot of people saying that you say marathon runner is useless but I can't find where you say it. I hear you say constitution is useless tho at a certain level? Also you left out one thing about the sixfold slash. If you land the last hit of the combo it makes arch demon gauge jump by like a little over 50%. Making it the fastest way to charge the gauge.

Lol on my current build, I can only fit either lvl 3 marathon runner or lvl 3 stamina surge, I tried testing each one on my hunts but MR works better for me. Having less stamina consumption during demon mode means more stamina to use on dodging. With lvl 3 MR is like drinking dash juice just without the stamina consumption reduction when dashing. I watched every dual blade vid you make i like them alot, but I think its better not to tell to your every viewers that MR is a waste it still depends on their preference and playstyle.

Except constitution is for dodging and not MR, MR doesnt come to make a visible effect since it doesnt reduce stamina when dodging. Also dual blades are not about staying longer in demon mode

Curious how you feel about putting a point of silver rathalos essence on saif DBs just for comfort. Yes I know it's not optimal for pure DPS, but a lot of the silver rathalos pieces are kind of trash and it can be hard to fit skills like health boost (which I always want in my set) when you're running four pieces of silver rathalos.
And yes, I realize you had health boost on your sets but you were also using tenderize/vitality jewels...which I still don't have a single one of even after hundreds of hours of deco farming...
Kevadu You lose 30 element for alot of more comfort, dont be very skeptic about min maxing as long the build has most important skills in. I always just display they best possible builds so people have a base to build
I have a second pair of Hellclaws with Silver Essence I use mainly against Kirin. Able to swap in the Acidic Glavenus gauntlets for Stun Resistance and Thunder Resistance that way. Works great.

Is Brachy legs good for 4 pc Silverlos (Fire/Ice/Water/Dragon) or is it prefer Brachy head? Awesome guide, it really cut down my hunt time & much appreciated for taking time to make it.
You should mention that this is for console purely for now since the title update won't come out till next week. With that said the meta for PC DBs are Safi+CE and not TCE since the numbers on this video do not take into account that PC doesn't have Raging Brachy and the Challenger 5 charm yet which significantly boosts the damage on console builds compared to PC. So instead of Safi+CE being a negligible improvement to TCE, the difference is actually quite noticeable on PC for now anyways.
it doesnt take agi 5 into account. Safi + Velk is still more damage for water ,ice and dragon. However 1-2% is legit useless since it wont make any difference in a hunt and you also can not run healthregeneration to keep up resentment. TCE is by Miles superior, more damage doesn't mean faster/better hunt. especially when 1 % in a solo hunt is like 200 damage which is 2 additional hits.
Evade shot with thorn pods makes hammer mains completely obsolete KOs all day especially against banbaro and jyuratodus

Covered a build video for brachy a week or 2 ago, brachy are as strong as raw safi, just raw dual blades on their own are '' bad '' but you can use them as an all around dual blades if youre lazy to craft for each element. Its really not that tragic to use raw blast

Do you like being a detriment to your team? Is pressing more than one button hurting your brain? Pick DB And stunlock your teammates, because it's not always possible to get flinch free to account for spammers. :P

@@ReverentGhost There's no need to gimp your build, if people use common sense. ;) But for you I would a rando-proof build. Certain attacks that send you flying can't be avoided with FF. Like people using wyvern fire near teammates, uppercuts from GS, Hammers, CB , SA. "Everyone has to account for my inconsiderate behaviour, I don't have to be careful. They should have all brought FF" that's how you sound.
@@theblackbaron4119 for me personally I'd rather just take flinch free and avoid *most* people's attacks when they decide to attack the same part as me (I usually go Hammer for multiplayer)
@@ReverentGhost If you're charging up a move and having power charge on, and you're moving or standing you already have flinch free 1. You can get interrupted out of power charge if you're not charging. Which is probably not even the case if you're near a monster.
