- Speed 2: Cruise Control is a 1997 American action thriller film produced and directed by Jan de Bont, and written by Randall McCormick and Jeff Nathanson. It is the sequel to Speed (1994) and stars Jason Patric, Willem Dafoe, and Sandra Bullock (who reprises her role from the original). Cruise Control tells the story of Annie (Bullock) and Alex (Patric), a couple who go on vacation to the Caribbean aboard a luxury cruise ship, which is hijacked by a villain named Geiger (Dafoe). As they are trapped aboard the ship, Annie and Alex work with the ship's first officer to try to stop it after they discover it is programmed to crash into an oil tanker.
I feel like she knew full well during this interview that she was in a stinker.

I'm sure Sandra woud be interested in discussing the Speed III sequel which is rumoured to be very expensive to make....posssibly involving more than [one] director.
Speed III is rumoured to take place in a slick downtown L.A location and a desert island location - some fight scenes are rumoured to be very violent - new ideas on technology and [computers] are rumoured...other cast members have yet to be confirmed.
Speed III is rumoured to focus more on the central character played by Bullock....& a more dangerous villian including a very high speed water chase,,,,

Keanu made right decision not to take a role in Speed 2. Speed 2 was a really horrible movie. Chemistry between Kanu and Sandra were special in Speed 1 and thats gone in speed 2.
You are so right. I have a feeling it would have still been a trash movie even with Keanu, it just would have had the both of them in it, which would have helped it. But Sandra told the truth in that Speed helped put her on the map and I can’t blame her for taking another movie and payday. But Speed was never a movie that could spawn a sequel or series. I wish Sandra and Keanu had made several Rom Coms together. Now that would be golden.
But in fairness Keanu has been in plenty of really horrible movies..
