As an introvert and emotional guy, I guarantee that Keanu knew Sandra had feelings towards him. It's just that he was kinda shy, and he didn't want to be distracted from work, and most importantly Sandra was too outgoing for him to absorb all in one second, and by the time he was comfortable with her, the movie was finished or something and they had to part ways. So it's a pity for such a pair. But it's OK, because so many good people got together at their young ages and let a good relationship ruined by youngster's immaturity. Keanu and Sandra remained friends for their lives, and it is better than a fling. A lukewarm, stable, reliable is so much better than a set loose romance, because 9/10 times such romance doesn't work out.
