I think the more calm, rational thought Marcel was too hyped to say was, I'm happy that things have progressed in the offices but it's July 1. It's go time. I would be very cautious hyping players like Ugarte and De Ligt. The FACTS are that De Ligt failed at Juve, now at Bayern. Ugarte didn't impose himself in the french league... Again United is buying players that are not needed in other projects. I don't know if they're gonna be good or bad for United, I would just be cautious with celebrations, that's all.
And saying that De Ligt played under ETH at Ajax is not that important, as Donny was in the same situation at United and how did that work out?

I'd argue 42m is a very reasonable price for De Ligt. 200k a week or above is the cost of a exceptional defender.
Length Yoro, Braithwaite, Inacio, Antonio Silva would all expect over 100k in wages. I don't believe any of those defenders formerly mentioned are better than De Ligt. I'd be very worried expecting a 17 year old to hold down CB.

@@MistahJoeCool De Ligt I believe, the consensus is, he is Bayern's best defender. De Ligt was Ajax's Captain at 18, and played exceptional throughout the CL run. Certainly more experienced, and statistically better than any other option we have available.
I believe there is a significant difference between a 17 year old like Yoro and an experienced defender like De Ligt. Bayern are being forced to sell, and 250k a week is what is generally required for a CB of De Ligt's ability.
