One of the funniest scenes in the movie! They don't make movies like this anymore..Art Metrano was so hilarious in Police Academy 2 and 3. Brilliant comedian. Too bad he didn’t come back for the rest of the film series.
You’re absolutely correct like they don’t make comedy movies like they do or dead back in the day Caddyshack animal house weird science fairs, Bueller’s Day off revenge of the nerds back to school Ghostbusters police Academy, the pink Panther, all Classix
Did you guys know Brian Tochi who played Nagata was also on The Brady Bunch season 2 episode What Goes Up? and played one of Peter's friends. This episode is when Bobby sprained his ankle and develops a fear of heights after he recovers also he was on The Streets Of San Francisco season 1 episode Trail Of The Serpent as the brother of the Cobras gang? He leads Lieutenant Stone (Karl Malden) into a trap after one of the Cobras is arrested for pulling a 211 then a 217 but despite being a member of the gang Brian Tochi's character David is a very bright boy and forms a friendship with Mike Stone while Mike is a hostage of the Cobras and Mike sees David has a promising future ahead of him. Brian Tochi also voiced Leonardo in the early 1990s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movies and reprised his role of Takashi in Revenge Of The Nerds 3 and 4
Nagata somehow seems partially Chinese. I LOVE THE 80S MOVIES THOUGH, BACK FUCKIN' THEN, MOVIES WERE MADE FOR PLEASING THE AUDIENCE! THESE ONES WERE ABOUT LAUGHS, FOLKS!
@@wns808 spite that Proctor was a total retard with REAL special needs. he was a very funny character. So dumb that if he took an IQ test. He would have been given disability benefits
Sat down and watched this with a mate last nite, as we’re massive Police Academy fans (1-3 only). Was looking forward to seeing this clip, as it’s the funniest part of the movie. Unfortunately, Comedy Central had cut the clip, even though it was after 9pm here in the UK. Yes, I do know the real reason why it was cut. But still, such a damn shame.
Nagata is Takashi from Revenge Of The Nerds. I guess Takashi changed his name after graduated from Adams College he wanted to put his days of being a Tri Lamb in Lambda Lambda Lambda behind him and join the police force
@LisaK71000 It's in several movies. Proctor and Harris go there. Also Blanks and Copeland. Then Proctor by himself, naked. Then Hightower stops a riot there.
One of my favorite Scenes, however, I wish it was extended a bit longer, when Mauser is walking past his cadets, at the beginning of this scene. I just got the Blu-ray Box-set earlier this month from SHOUT! FACTORY. I only like the first 3, after that Meh. 4 is okay. 1-3 are the best! Lol!
I must be a really amazing person because I can laugh at this (partially because it's so un-PC) and somehow I can go away not thinking that all Japanese people are super-friendly and -solicitous, speak bad English (though the "l" and "r" mixups are true among many Asians because of the way their languages are constructed), and deferential. It's almost like I can tell that it's a movie and that they're playing characters. Having traveled in Asia, though, I can say that Asian people do tend to be more polite and often friendlier to foreigners, but not in the "Oh, sank you!" way you see in movies.
What happened with Art Metrano vs. G. W. Bailey. Metrano appeared only in Police Academy 2 and 3. Bailey appeared in 1 and 4 and anything beyond 4. Was one not happy with their role? Both seemed to always be annoyed by Proctor, but what was the deal with these two men? Why were they exchanged between movies? It would have been nice to see both of them together in the same movie.
Fun tip: Harris and Mauser would've been in one of the movies and Mahoney and his Cohorts should choose who's the better and funnier character. either Harris or Mauser.
Yeah... Imagine a bunch of 18 year Olds with Muppet vomit colored hair telling you that this is all wrong. Probably even cry to Hillary to get it banned
It's an old movie. Not really cool to act like this in real life but the bad guy gets their comeuppance and the one getting picked on gets the girl and stands triumphant in the end.
People who think this was simply not political correctness is an idiot. Its out and out racism. Anyone notice how south central isn't full of boyz in the hoods anymore ? What happened to gangsta rap? This simply proves how we're all totally manipulated. Still my favourite films !
I was an '80s teenager, and I remember racism very well! In high school, I nearly slapped a classmate for calling one of the black students the n-word, but I was so shocked that I froze instead! She was eventually expelled!
I was bothered by this too, but then I watched the whole movie(from 1986, btw). First, Mauser is the bad guy, you're supposed to hate him. Second, they end up pairing Nogata with Callahan(pretty blonde). So, sure, in a way the jokes and stereotypes are very off-key and haven't aged well. But it took us until, what, The Walking Dead before we felt comfortable with another asian guy, white gal romance on TV? The problem I have with modern PC culture is simple: we're far too concerned about what people say and not concerned enough with what people actually do.
That racist guy is Antagonist of this movie. And not gona lie, when someone comes to whichever country, he usually didn´t speak it´s language very well. And that didn´t apply just for one group. When turist came to ask me, on the way, they usually speak english rather than language of the country.
