To everyone who keeps saying that cutting this scene was a good thing or that the Harris rant was overkill by this point in the film. This is not meant as a Harris moment, even though he is front and center for the entire sequence. This is meant as Mahoney's final moment of character growth. He now realizes that his antics were no longer funny and were starting to affect his fellow squadmates. People who actually walk onto the campus wanting to be cops. You can tell that this is what they were going for when all the other cadets but Mahoney are still snickering while Harris speaks. This, plus the leadup to the horse incident where he tells Harris he now wants to be a cop and the subsequent scene (also deleted) where Mahoney confronts Thompson and she responds "I think you've done enough" were the final steps for Mahoney to start taking things seriously and see the training through to become a cop. If it were that much of an overkill, it wouldn't have been restored for certain televised broadcasts.
Lol I remember me asking my mom what happened why is his hair all wet why he needs a new hat why are calling a veterinarian lol I even ask did he get his head stuck inside the horse but lol I was only 5 years old
I wanted to disagree with this, but then I realized that I've watched this version forever since taping it as a kid. And this was probably the preceding scene and this scene I rewound over and over again the most. I even had this sort of actually happen in real life when an instructor said something this funny in real life and ham it up without knowing it and 20 plus of us had to stand there almost failing to not laugh for 5 minutes.
Interesting, but the joke works better without it as Harris' speech afterwards takes the limelight. Plus, this was starting to overdo the obsession with getting rid of the cadets. I'd have cut it too.
I just got thru watching this scene and I SWWEAR I laugh just as hard as I did when I first saw it, I bought the PA Collection from Target but the part after jones made the horse sound was cut from mine...didnt make a difference tho....I LOVE THE 80'S XD
Well I'm not really for sure but I think the story line went when Mauser was that the precinct and Harris was still at the Academy and in part 3 Harris I guess got promoted as Captain and the storyline and Mauser became commandant in his own Academy but it would have been nice and part 2 with Mauser first meets Mahoney and just when Mahoney least out the door to go meet up with this partner stollman it would have been nice of Mauser said oh Mahoney Lieutenant Harris from the police academy called me earlier today and told me to really keep an eye out on you if they would add that to the storyline that would have been nice but it was still Classic Movies nevertheless
My favorite part of this scene is everyone holding in their laughter.
Except for Tackleberry

Watched this scene on TNT
This scene was included in most showings on TV, but was cut from the original DVD release.
As a child I never understood why they all laughed until someone told me what happenend to him and the horse

1. How was it even possible for Harris to even become a cop?
2. How does he even have the brains to even be a good and honest cop.
This actually isn't a deleted scene, it's part of the original movie. The speech Harris gives is usually deleted when shown on TV for time purposes.
It's not on any home release. It's a deleted scene (We're talking about the last 15 seconds or so).
This was not in the original release so yes, it is indeed a deleted scene. Trust me, I ran it for almost a year in the theatres.

This shows how really insane Harris is.

I saw this on TV, and it didn't include Harris' speech after Jones made the horse noise.
They showed this in Australia
I remember seeing this on Comedy Central back in 2012.
police academy 4 was my fav =D
of course I can't remember any other police academy movies in its entirety but that's beside the point XD
Troy: "I've only seen two Police Academy films. The last two."
Guess it wouldn't make sense with the scene because then why would the cadets even bother finishing training if they were all going to be cut.
never seen the speech on the tv after he made the noise.. and i seen it like a hundred times.
It doesn't make sense, since he did like Blanks and Copeland. Better to have cut that.
i can see why it was deleted
@richlove404
this is from police academy 1, mauser was in part 2, and harris and mauser were never in the same movie
Never seen this before, it is only on the US TV broadcasts whereas the shortened theatrical version is shown everywhere else and on DVD.
God damn chikaboo. Oh shit. Oh shit!
man wtf this is in all the movies ive seen this is not a deleted sence
I think it was also available on VHS releases...weird they removed it guess some horse didn't like it !
q
This WASN'T deleted.
This reminds me of the "Biggus Dickus" scene in "Life of Brian".
@Rawk4Life It was a deleted scene originally. I guess they felt they didn't need it when they did the editing. All films do this.
Harris was so grumpy.
this wasnt on my police acadamy 20 aniversery dvd, im gona re watch it 2 ssee if i missed it.
