Running across Skyarrow Bridge and seeing the camera move all around after 4 generations of remaining static, and hearing this beautiful, optimistic masterpiece playing in the background at the same time...is an absolutely unforgettable experience.
I replay BW and B2 from time to time just to listen to this song. I walk up and down Skyarrow Bridge absorbing the views and this song is really meaningful and special to me. It got me through my junior year of HS. All those late nights studying and doing hw or projects. Really really nostalgic. EDIT: Here I am now almost turning 22. I was also 11, but in a totally different circumstance. I had many friends and this theme makes me think about my former best friend because we were on this bridge in Pokemon just to listen to this. He broke up contact years ago without telling me why and most of my friends are gone now too. So this theme is a bittersweet memory for me, it feels fantastic and a bit melancholic to listen to this.
I remember how cool it felt crossing that bridge for the first time. I was 8 years old sleeping over at grandma's, playing this game sitting on the kitchen floor on a rainy saturday morning. Life was so simple back then.
Me too. I remember, my best friend and me went on this bridge just to listen to this theme. Magical and to hear it more than 11 years later is a bittersweet feeling.
I've been humming the theme to this for almost the last 12 years, I knew it was from a Pokémon game but didn't know which game and which city. It took me a few hours of listening to every game's city music, only for me to not find it. I then had to check the route music and I eventually found it. Today is a good day :)
Just the greatest of themes, B&W was a beautiful gen, why did so many in the past see it as bad? It's only as bad as you make it and now Gen 5 is becoming insanely popular again.
Main reasons were because you had 150 new pokemon but no old ones that's a win to me lol why buy a game just to use the same crap again, the other one was that some felt like it was a gen 1 cop out didn't see it either just people that wanted more gen 1 crap. Btw these games are the reason we get very little mons each new gens because if the complaints of "too many new pokemon"(this was another complaint)that was a stupid argument.
I also thought it to be a bad game at first. Gave it a try and now I really love it. Some of the Pokémon designs are still pretty bad though, although some are really great too. One must give it a try. It's different from what most people were used to.
@@silverbolt9439 I deadass remember so many people bitching about exactly this, normally older man babies in there like 20s angry they couldn't use any older gen pokemon till post game ( like that wasn't a theme already running between the games where you unlock the old shit after beating the game ). I actually don't use Skyarrow Bridge for hatching my Pokemon, mainly because, while it is long, you still have to pay attention to when to turn back. I mainly use the Battle Subway to hatch eggs, mainly because it's a huge circle, and when you reach an area that has no NPCs blocking the path, you can tape down the D-pad and run button and do whatever you want.
Lyrics: Skyarrow Bridge, I said the Skyarrow Bridge Is the longest bridge in all of Unova Skyarrow Bridge, yeah Skyarrow Bridge It takes so long just to get to the other side Cars and trucks racing down the highways they're so fast (yes they are) It's so much fun to chase them back and forth again It takes a while to reach Castelia City so while we cross this bridge let's start to sing this song again!
I used this bridge for hatching Larvesta eggs, first one I hatched on the bridge had a Timid nature and had perfect IVs in three of it's stats, I still love this theme for that reason.
I remember seeing the bridge so much at the into of the game and when finally reaching this bridge, everything just felt so ethereal. Hearing this song again just makes me want to cry yet I can't because it's a bop.
I made lyrics to go with this song! Here they are! Crossing the bridge, towards a brand- new adventure as I'm running I look down, and I see the sea Cars pass below, and planes pass above, as I'm headed towards the grand Castelia City Every day's a new adventure for a Pokemon Trainer Brand-new places to explore, and brand-new places they can see Always moving forward, this is still just the beginning of my journey, as I'm running, across the Skyarrow Bridge Thumbs up?
This is the place where I felt the journey was really starting. By then, we already had 2 badges and a bunch of encounters with Team Plasma but I don't care. There's an Unova before Skyarrow Bridge and an Unova after.
There's that small area right after you leave Pinwheel Forest and the camera angle gives you a view of the bridge before you get to it. It's where the route 2 theme plays for the last time. I love that small little area. It feels like a transition point as you can still see the forest around you but also the bridge and city skyline in the distance. They didn't have to do that. They could have made pinwheel forest lead straight to the gate. But it's small details like that small area that I enjoy a lot.
This moment in the game is what makes me wish the eventual Unova remakes will use the HD2D art style from Octopath Traveler, Skyarrow Bridge in particular would benefit from it so much.
I loved how dynamic the “woosh” sound effect when the camera would rapidly pan up and out through the titanic support pylons was. It was so gosh darn cool!
I spent a lot time running/cycling on this bridge in W, even after the league, just for the song and the 3D effect, as a kid I was amazed by the beginning of 3D in Pokemon, now I'm amazed because the DS was capable of doing this and it does a better job at showing the impressive surrounding of Castelia city. Now in W2 I felt so happy in the postgame to be able to go back on it and also really emotional when I understood I could see the previous mom and the professor once again and possibly our previous character too, needless to say I was sad when I ended up not finding him and learning that he was looking for N, which to remind you stays in the ruins of his old castle. Despite that I still love W and W2 and I'm glad that emulators are a thing or I would have never been able to play W2 again since I lost my game
