Lord Grumps the rattle is coming from the car radio. It's all made of metal on my Lincoln MKS. I took the dashboard out after the dealership kept giving me the run around. Just take out the radio and wrap it up with duct tape to keep it from vibrating when you you driving on a rough road. Mine stopped right away.
I had a dashboard rattle on my fairly new Skoda Rapid which appeared to come from the glovebox area. However, I asked the mechanic at my local garage to listen to it, and, sitting in the passenger seat, he thought it came from the DRIVER'S side! When he drove it himself, he agreed with me. Noise waves are funny things, and they can bounce around in the confined space of a car interior. After a few minutes he found that the source of the rattle was a pair of sunglasses in the holder above the windscreen. Glasses removed - rattle gone - and he wouldn't charge me a penny - nice man. So, if you have one on these annoying rattles, first take EVERYTHING out of the car which was not in it when you bought it - even what's in the boot. If it's still there when you drive it around, you know it's something in the car itself, but do this essential check first.
Hi mate
Did you or the dealer fond the cause of this rattle/vibration?
