I love that you don't use stupid clickbait titles or thumbnails. Just an accurate descripction of what you show. In these times of ridiculous youtuber tricks, it is much appreciated.
Watching from the UK. Love the extra information of whereabouts the train was on the journey when the stations were opened and the speed of the train. That rain cloud was awesome
Same dark skies and mean thunderstorms here the last couple of days ... Puebla, Méxcio. At least you had the views and protection of the train. My dog Rusa invited me to her bed and to lay down alongside her to calm me during the scariest moments. Good doggie. Have a great day, Señor Cabview.!!! Colonia Centro Histórico, RT sends/envía, Puebla, México.
Your program, I truly enjoy. I find trains fascinating, both the esthetics and in terms of physics. Hopefully, they catch on here, throughout the U.S., the passenger side of it. Thanks again.
Loved this ride!. The single track lines reminded me of the old Lackawanna electric routes in Northern New Jersey, an d the weather was very much like New Jersey :) Thanks for this great video!!
Okay, you must visit the country. It's beautiful. Pay a visit to Hilversum. That's where Radio Netherlands used to broadcast its foreign service on short-wave.
Hello from USA! Going to the Netherlands, in a way, I felt as if I had come home. Tidy, tolerant, and where punctuality is a demonstration of mutual respect, in a place of a totally built environment, where human scaled details count. I could live there; did not feel that way in UK, where my ancestral roots hail from. May you always love your carrear, that is of greater value than making war machinery.
I am brand new to your channel and I love it. Your country is so beautiful and clean. ❤ I am amazed to see no rubbish scattered along the rails or on the roadsides. In some videos like this (different countries) the majority of the rail corridor looks like one giant garbage dump. I am always sad to see that. Thank you for sharing this beauty. 😊
This is indeed a nice video! Thanks a lot! It must have been 20 years since I last traveled on this route. I remember back then it was pretty bumpy, and no double track between Leiden and Alphen. Now it looks like a smooth ride. And I guess a bit quicker as well, with speeds of up to 140km/h. I did spot the rainbow on the left side, even though it was very faint.
36:19 : at the left the 'Ham toren'. Part of what is left of the castle Den Ham, near Vleuten. Probably built around 1260, first mentioned in a muniment from 1325.
amazing, often people don't realise their automatic "force of habit' behavior but you even anticipate on it. It is funny, I seem to remember from my childhood that when the conductor blew their whistle and turned the key, their door would close after the train had already started moving. i assume that would not be possible anymore in any type after the "original" Mat'64?
On the still in service Virm, Icm and Ddz, the locking of the doors is not a requirement to unlock the traction controller. So yes, you can drive away with open doors.
Schitterend... I always loved seeing train cab views, but this has the graphic even more beautiful than the actual ones! And is the speedlimit in the NL set at 130kph like in Japan?
Very brilliantly colorful! How crisp the video is, like looking through a window. The information is very geographical and interesting. It is amazing to me that the railroads in Europe must earn hundreds of millions of dollars every day in fares, if not more than that. I wonder what percentage of the fares it takes to operate, maintain, and repair the railroads on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis, and what kinds of unexpected expenses do they have? Very nice ride, thank you.
I always enjoy watch train videos from all over the world but the Netherlands is really my favourite, having visited sevaral times and travel over the system to Apeldoorn, Elst, Oss and of couse Amsterdamm and Rotterdam. One thing that I have wondered about on the Railways what is the significance of the 2 white horizontal lights that you see all over the country? What do they tell the driver? Thanjs, Chris ib rge UK
I've counted a total of five classic Dutch windmills that are visible from this cabview along the line, can you spot the other four also? One is a bit further away from the track than the rest, so it appears short and tiny on the left side.
Very reasonable ticket prices. I'm in England and if I want to travel a return trip of by train to Scotland to see my family it costs more than a flight to New York USA.
It's amazing to see the contrast between a traditional windmill and a wind turbine stood in proximity! The large number of passengers that caused the conductor/train manager safety issues made me wonder whether this service would be better served by VIRM than a Sprinter set. It has been a while since you last had video footage from this route, was it a Koploper or VIRM last time? Were the wet rails giving the Sprinter traction issues?
Iron Maiden: "Run to the hills!" Dutch people: "What is the hills?" :D Seriously though, Dutch scenery is really beautiful, I blew my chance to go there a few years ago, but I'll definitely try to make it happen sooner or later! Though I've actually been there twice, but only on a bus that was going straight through to France on my way to the UK... And it was at night, so we didn't see anything... :/
It depends. I'm not an expert on the subject, but I believe some bridges without overhead wires don't require the pantograph to be lowered. That is if your train has the height limiter on the pantograph set to the Dutch standard. But don't pin me on this, because I'm not sure if I remember it correctly.
Shortly after the green signal at 8:00 there's a blue diamond shaped sign at 8:13 with a white bar and 2 white blocks. That means to lower the pantograph. After the bridge you see the same sign but now the bar and blocks are connected to form a U-profile. That means to raise the pantograph again. The numbers on the bottom left of these signs tell you when to raise the pantograph(s), corresponding to the number of cars for train units.
I don't know, I keep an I on voltage, not current. It depends on the situation: another train accelerating in the same section causes trouble at certain areas. An ICM draws around 1 kW when accelerating. Gauge is 1435.
Out of curiosity, why is it hard to keep the train still once the passenger doors are closed? Does the train start moving automatically, or do you mean it's just easy to bump the throttle?
Interesting. Surprised at just how flat it is. Should make railway construction cheaper and easier as no tunnels or mountainsides to blast through. But maybe the water table presents other issues. Also surprising was so many high-rise apartment blocks. A pleasant run but maybe not so much as a passenger as it was apparently so crowded.
I love that you don't use stupid clickbait titles or thumbnails. Just an accurate descripction of what you show.

Travelled from Chicago to San Fransisco by Zephir. I believe your country is as stunning or efen more so.
Watching from the UK.

That rain cloud was awesome
I still love your channel, after all these years. Thank you!
Thanks, good to hear!
Thank you for giving such wonderful weather to travel in. The only thing missing is the track speed limit.
Geoff, Sydney Australia 🏳🌈
I leave that to the viewer: you can read the speed signs next to the track just like I do :-)
This was by far the best clearest view you have shown us. The colors are so beautiful & bright. Thanks Cookie for a great ride!
Thanks!
So Relaxing to watch. Keep uploading

Wat een prachtige treinreis Meester. Mooie luchten. Schitterend.
Très joli, et avec des commentaires intéressants !

This looks like a simulator. So nice so clean.
oh wow, you drove the train i took going in the other direction prior to the return journey!
Beautiful!
This train is so quiet you dare nt fart . Fellow commuters will notice unless their kipping ! .❤ Dave .

Leuke Rit!
Love the Music! A playlist for MUSIC TO DRIVE A TRAIN BY WHILE CHASING RAINBOWS. LOL.

Are these bridges functional, wheel slip, do they often delay trains?
Which bridges? Wheel can cause delays, especially during fall season.

Those signals start flashing when a train is approaching. They warn railway workers.
Wait a minute... is this in the original Train Simulator? I think I have played there... or at least some parts... Great video !!
So nice videos

10:38 Oh, LOOK! A REAL Dutch windmill! 🙃

nice video
Very reasonable ticket prices. I'm in England and if I want to travel a return trip of by train to Scotland to see my family it costs more than a flight to New York USA.
Yep. Cheaper to fly to Manchester, even with journeys to the airport, than to go by train from Euston.
Birthplace of Rembrandt. Changed a bit since his time.
It's amazing to see the contrast between a traditional windmill and a wind turbine stood in proximity! It has been a while since you last had video footage from this route, was it a Koploper or VIRM last time? Were the wet rails giving the Sprinter traction issues?
It used to be a Virm or Ddz. Yes, tracks were very slippery.
Then it would be a Sprintercity lol as the service was a regular sprinter (it stopped at all stations).
How do you get that speedometer overlay with the map? That thing is way cool.
Most likely gps based
Something new. Great!

At 11:07 you can see on the right part of the tunnel that sticks above ground.
You can still see the flat he was born in third floor of the tower block to the right with the cactus in the window.
Do you have a time stamp?
Are the wind turbines that we see connected directly to the railway?
No not directly.
Thank you for another fantastic video. On some of the bridges, there are no overhead wires. Do you have to lower the pantograph for these bridges?
It depends. I'm not an expert on the subject, but I believe some bridges without overhead wires don't require the pantograph to be lowered. That is if your train has the height limiter on the pantograph set to the Dutch standard.

The numbers on the bottom left of these signs tell you when to raise the pantograph(s), corresponding to the number of cars for train units.
In this specific case it seems like there's a mistake in the signs there, because you see a 2 two times and then a 6. Normally it would be 2, 4 and 6.
You do have to cut the power though

29:46 ok that was fast
at 1.5kV, what is the max allowed current? 4kA? what is the gauge of the electric network? 1450mm?
I don't know, I keep an I on voltage, not current. It depends on the situation: another train accelerating in the same section causes trouble at certain areas. An ICM draws around 1 kW when accelerating. Gauge is 1435.

Out of curiosity, why is it hard to keep the train still once the passenger doors are closed? Does the train start moving automatically, or do you mean it's just easy to bump the throttle?
It is like a Pavlov response..
What is the maximum speed this train is allowed on this route/track?
There is a small part of 140 km/h. The white square signs indicate the allowed maximum speed x10.
And....did you catch-up with the cloud/rain?
What did you mean about 30 miles of underground tunnels for high speed rail. Surely, that would be difficult with your high water table.
The m stands for meters, not miles..
This is known as 'ambient light', the rain cleans the air.. 😏😏😏
By removing dust particles which can cause glare.
Dit is typisch zo 'n klassiek lokaal spoorlijntje zoals vroeger😅
Maar wel een drukke 😊
