Great navigation information. You can tell these young women have grown up learning the right way to become a responsible and safe boat captain. Thank you Gale Force Twins!
Very good info ladies . I am so nervous just bought a whaler 32 vantage . From the Midwest but full time Florida resident now . Not scared of any waves only scared of running ground
I’m 61yo. Grew up on the water for first 20 years, then off 10. Back on for 5 then off for 20. On the water again at 61 and sucking up as much info on all the pertinent points. You guys have already taught me a few things, and I appreciate it SO much, THANK YOU! The videos on navigation, handling a boat in rough water were awesome. Perhaps another video or two building on those would be great. What is more important then knowing your boat, navigating, and being able to be and stay safe? And BTW I want to say you two are class acts. Your also beautiful enough not to have to wear make up or reduce yourselves by unnecessarily wearing inappropriate clothing, unlike others. I hope someday you guys get your own show on TV. Kudos and THANK YOU!
You two bring back great memories, my English Dad took us to the craziest places when I was young. Much later when 'I knew what was what' he said to me ' I don't do sea trials , I do recon ,,,,,,,,, burn that gas ladies .
Great tips! Enjoy the helpful boating videos. You touched a bit on it regarding the tides, but I’d to see an entire video on planning a boat outing - checking the weather, the tides, float plan, fuel etc- basically what are the steps you should be doing each time you go out to be safe
Videos like this are what keep me coming back. I had a PWC for years and graduated to a 21’ center console. The information I’ve learned is amazing. From learning to use trim tabs to learning how to dock, these videos are great. Obviously I still have to go put it into practice but pointers like steer before your gear have given me much a better handle on my boat. Thanks for all the great guidance.
A big tip for being on the water, first and foremost get a good pair of polarized sunglasses, they cut the glare so you can see into the water and not only see shallow water easier but you can pick out fish if your fishing shallow water, I have prescription polarized sunglasses 😎 and I wouldn’t think of going out on my lil cheap 20’ boat without them !
Love your channel. Looking to get into boating. (retired) I would love to see a lesson on what type of boat is best in rivers, (length, hull shape etc.) and close for near and off shore fishing. So many boat types. So much to learn.
Fantastic content, guys, thanks! Just be aware that in many parts of the world red and green markers are used the other way around with green on your right returning to the coast. Just to make life a bit more difficult I guess.
I once was told when I was a kid was to keep the one channel marker between land and the marker. Can you clarify or do a video Love watching you gals so informative and very well explained. Thank you
Chart datums for NOAA referenced charts are on MLLW, not low tide. It’s not the lowest possible, but the average of the lowest. Mean Lower Low Water. This can also be effected by winds as well at the tides you mentioned.
I would be interested in your recommendations for the best boat trip planning resources. In other words, A to Z steps in planning a trip with an overnight hotel stay, etc..
Hi! Love you guys! It nice to see other women who enjoy boating and fishing like me! Will you guys be getting anymore shirts in in the ocean blue or pink stuff?
Red, right return only applies to American waters. I applied this in my test and failed. Australian waters is opposite just like the road. Why is water navigation NOT universal ???
Just substitute the saying for down under, say Red to Red Returning, also the girls say Green marks are square and red are triangles....this is the opposite in most places other than America....and why is it not universal?? Because America....feet, pounds, inchs, miles blah blah blah
I’m in the Uk and red is to port when returning. I was told it used to be universal but the US swapped around in world war 2 to confuse the enemy, then never got around to changing it back….
Thanks for all the videos. I appreciate all the information and how you present it. I also appreciate that you are clothed and professional…so sick of all the BS bikini videos presenting half accurate information assuming nobody would notice. You two rock!
I wouldn't say this is common but there are situations where staying in between Red + Green will get you in trouble. For example, at the entrance of Boston Harbor 2 channels come together at the entrance. It's not that uncommon for boaters to run in between the Red of one channel and the Green of the other channel. That puts them at a low spot at low tide. With 10 foot tides you can usually get away with it but I have seen boats aground in that area.
Clearly you use a drone for overhead filming; that would seem to be a good tool also, and probably more fun. I just found your channel, and and it's very entertaining and informative. My business partner is a world class sportfisher (Bixby Winner 2016), so I'm trying to better understand his obsession.
So if there's a lot of shallow water and you finally hit a deep hole mark it because that's where the fish is going to be in the winter time so that's what I do on the intercoast of waterway I fish in shore mainly yellow mouth trout weak fish usually they'll be close to the shoreline and they'll be dropped just drop the bottom just drops out and goes back up again you'll find the bottom it's close by I can't tell you where it is but you'll find the hole lots of seabass
thanks for the video !! you're definitely my favorite captain girls in UA-cam. I have a question though: what about the white sticks you sometimes see like the ones there are near the fisher inn in Islamorada? how do you navigate those?
Red Right Returning you stated it was from a larger body of water to a smaller body of water. That doesn't work on the Trent-Severn canal as the buoys flip midway at the highest lake. It would be annoying if they kept changing based on the size of one lake vs the next. I have always been taught it is Red Right Returning as in you are returning home up stream (against the rivers general flow direction). But maybe things are different/complicated with the Oceans, ICW and tides in Florida?
Keep one barracuda use over cut bait and I usually get black tip sharks you're allow three black tip sharks per day if they did change is probably keep the thins keep everything on the black tub use the thins the skin for purses also catch a eels your last six or seven hills per day so I used the skins for wallets and purses and I use the star jaws and sell them I'll sell the keep the fins I keep the beat I use everything on the chart three black tip sharks per day I usually use a barracuda for bait or Lady fish or a needle fish for bait
Red right return doesn't work the way you would think it should over on the Ft. Meyer's side. Since the markers were laid down from the east side of Florida all the way through lake Okeechobee to Ft. Meyer's on the west side of Florida. Around Ft. Meyer's into the canal waterway heading east, it's all backwords.
I've noticed in Florida Bay (and other places too probably) there are small white posts in places. What do those mean? Are they unofficial channel markers? Are there rules of thumb to navigate the white posts in an unfamiliar area where electronic bottom mapping is not great and water visibility is poor?
You really need to go dove hunting or pigeon hunting or duck hunting but really if y'all have a chance go Force twins I will tell you to go wild pig honey or hog hunting in the winter time it's the best I stock up on 50 to 30 hogs a day bow and arrow with a 38 shell inside of it it's like a bang stick
Hello girls, thank you for the content. You guys rock. I’m also a UM grad. Need your honest opinion. I have the same flats boat you have. I recently noticed that you have seadeck. I don’t know if it came when the boat or you installed it. What’s your thoughts ? Does it stain? Is it hard to keep clean ? Does it become unglued ? Thanks JC
Bridges go over but there's a key bridge is good the railroad bridge is not so good cuz they s*** on the railroad bridge they don't fish the railroad Bridges usually fish the dot Bridges use your fish to docks I usually fish a old barges that sunk halfway in boats and we're left to empty so you know it depends on what you find it depends if they didn't clean it up or not but old barges old boat sailboats were left over from a long time ago we usually have fish on them
Everybody overlooks boat ramps so how I catch my seller's choice I go to the boat ramp let him watch everybody watch their boats and fish along the boat ramp programs are the most unused things but they're the best re-artific for baked fish bait fish and mullet and a small jetty boat ramps the best fishing place of all rocks are too lots of rocks means good fishing
Keep one or two mother-in-law's but they got to be a certain size I usually keep them about probably 2 to 3 ft smalls you know I keep mother in laws I usually use the tell me and the head beat I usually go ahead and then use that for bait or just go ahead and cut it up and boil it make a soup out of it but you can't eat them so they're not that bad but they're okay croakers and spots lots of shrimp small hugs and shrimp and falls when they lay their eggs and spring they go back out so it's probably I catch my limit on spots and croakers and mullet live it out I get so many mullet I feel a cooler full Chad and mullet use a fly rod and when the barber starts shaking you set the hook it is a shaking motion then you know you got to got the wormy he's put the worms in his mouth and you set the hook you got to be fast
You want to fish close to the bridge pilots the closer you fish to the bridge pilots to the shoreline the better off you get more fish if you fish deeper you'll get black drum and bigger fish the fish the pilots are closer to the shoreline and when Todd runs high fast you want to fish close to the shoreline that's how you'll get your fish
Python chili a hot pythons too they're pretty easy bow and arrow or a black powder gun hit him in the head and take them out good wallet same with the alligator and staffing turtle you're allowed three per day turtles take them out make a good wallet or a purse out of it it won't hurt anything same I do with an alligator or a crocodile when it's alligator season oversize works the best you allow stickers barley and a swordfish live too per year same with undersized goliath grouper you're allowed one per month called a gag grouper and gag grouper loud one per month
If you're on welfare and you're born in the same county you can fish with a cane pole or food stamps you can fish with a cane pole or hand line only but you can take only which was invasive species or follow the fishing rules three fish per day you got to be born in the same county get the welfare or be on food stamps or Medicare or social security you're allowed a painful and a hand line you got to go to the fish and game and asking for a sticker or license got to be on Ada laws and you don't use an ID card if you use an ID card then you have to do each state's different sometimes I can request you how to use it on your drivers or ID card same with restricted license for disabled person all you need is an ID card
Necklaces. I don't remember who wears what, but they are different (they mentioned it somewhere). After a few videos you can pick out who's who based on their demeanor's.
Amanda wear hoop earrings an Emily wear studs....but pretty easy to tell em apart after wat hing them for awhile...plus one parts hair or ponytail on left is Emily an Amanda does her on the right....they told me this few years qgo hope I got it right cause I can tell apart just by there voices n personalities
I recommend setting your keel offset what it is plus 2 ft mine is 3ft so I set it for 5ft or set it for 6 ft extra safety JT HOOKED N ROLLING OFFSHORE 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐟🐠🎣🛥
Hands-down the best tutorials and education for beginners like me. Thanks Gale Force Twins!

3:40 Thank you so much for mentioning between. I have heard the “Red right return” while ignoring staying between the markers.
You two bring back great memories, my English Dad took us to the craziest places when I was young. Much later when 'I knew what was what' he said to me ' I don't do sea trials , I do recon ,,,,,,,,, burn that gas ladies .

Agreed! A video touching on this is greatly needed. Thanks in advance. Keep up the great work ladies.
Thanks for the information, I'm new to boating on the ocean and this helps so much. Dinner Friday night? Worth a shot🤣

Fantastic video ladies ☺️
Thanks for the color-blind tip..... That really is helpful......
Wow... Really, really great info. Thank you, ladies!
Would love to see a top 10-15 tips for new boaters, what to look for when buying your first fishing boat etc.

Watched couple videos I'm a subscriber now thx ladies.
Love it! Very good information. 😊👍
I miss Florida so much but I love watching you girls 🤙🏻♥️🥰🤗😃😍☺️🥂🥂🥂🥂
Good tips and a way to remember !!!
Southern New England markers are nuns, cans or bell bouys and even lighthouses.
I once was told when I was a kid was to keep the one channel marker between land and the marker.
Can you clarify or do a video
Love watching you gals so informative and very well explained.
Thank you

Another great video.
Always great tips
Been subscribed for a while, don’t comment much. Good video. Keep it up.
Thanks I had no idea
Grat video as always. Miss seeing you on the Intrepid. Are you going to review the new penn authority reels.
Thanks for sharing 🍸

Ladies, this was a fantastic segment. How cool of you to think to do this. Get on a Sub next.. lol Cheers

Red, right return only applies to American waters. I applied this in my test and failed. Australian waters is opposite just like the road. Why is water navigation NOT universal ???
RRR only applies in certain geographical locations/headings plenty of places in the Us where rrr will not work
Just substitute the saying for down under, say Red to Red Returning, also the girls say Green marks are square and red are triangles....this is the opposite in most places other than America....and why is it not universal?? Because America....feet, pounds, inchs, miles blah blah blah
I’m in the Uk and red is to port when returning. I was told it used to be universal but the US swapped around in world war 2 to confuse the enemy, then never got around to changing it back….
Cuz America is awesome!
Red right return should be made to be international rules... Because it makes the most sense and easiest to remember...
Great videos I wander about trailering some boat for example permits , wide load signs; what are those laws?
The word you are looking for at 6:45 is mnemonic.
Thanks for all the videos. I appreciate all the information and how you present it. I also appreciate that you are clothed and professional…so sick of all the BS bikini videos presenting half accurate information assuming nobody would notice. You two rock!

How to side dock on a crowded dock (like parallel parking)
Great idea!
This is what separates you ladies from every other female anglers on UA-cam. We actually learn from you .
Thank you 😊
Great info! Tight lines! #reelcoastal

good advice girls
You should be able to set your draft in the settings on your plotter.

Did you redo the decking on your small boat? Looks nice.
are you guys right outside robbies, just north of long key (channel 5 bridge)?
Keep one barracuda use over cut bait and I usually get black tip sharks you're allow three black tip sharks per day if they did change is probably keep the thins keep everything on the black tub use the thins the skin for purses also catch a eels your last six or seven hills per day so I used the skins for wallets and purses and I use the star jaws and sell them I'll sell the keep the fins I keep the beat I use everything on the chart three black tip sharks per day I usually use a barracuda for bait or Lady fish or a needle fish for bait
💯
How about tying lines so they don’t tangle when you store them. Seems simple but so many have issues.
I agree, it always confused me on the Gold Coast. Going to have to loom into markers in Australia abit better
Red right return doesn't work the way you would think it should over on the Ft. Meyer's side. Since the markers were laid down from the east side of Florida all the way through lake Okeechobee to Ft. How do I get a Gale Force Twins Mayday sticker? I just saw some on a dudes boat.
I've noticed in Florida Bay (and other places too probably) there are small white posts in places. What do those mean? Are they unofficial channel markers? Are there rules of thumb to navigate the white posts in an unfamiliar area where electronic bottom mapping is not great and water visibility is poor?
To mark an obstruction (maybe a submerged rock, log etc)

Running aground on rocks does serious damage to engines, either in Fla keys or even in Maine.
How to 6 minute or 3 minute rule with boating speed and distance
