My current application has limited space, so I was originally considering the 8010, but I may be able to fit the 8020's.
Can you summarize the important differences between the 8010 and 8020 series that would figure into the equation? Obviously the bass would be extended (slightly?) in the 8020, but are there other differences that would tip the scales to the 8020?

Hello, thank you for the good question. 8020 indeed plays lower frequencies, but other benefits are also that it will be able to play louder, and has better directivity for longer listening distance. Don't hesitate to reach us at support@genelec.com for more questions and we are happy to help!

    Hi sir,
I am thinking about to buy Genelec Monitor Speakers but I'm confused!
Should i buy Genelec 8050B or Genelec 8040B with 7040 Sub? For Music Production, Mixing & Mastering.
    Please help me!

      Hi Aashu-
In my experience and to my ear, 1030As give you the raw data to parse out details in a mix, and the 8040s shine when it comes to making 2-Buss decisions -Mastering in a small room, for instance.
Paired with a 7060 Subwoofer, they are quite impeccable.
The sub dropping 85Hz out of the monitors helps them to breathe, increasing clarity tremendously.
The 7040 sub was designed for the 8010, and for those, it works well. Stick with the 7060B when using 8040s.
      -Adam.

Call me old school, but I'd take a pair of 1032 SAM's any day over the 8000-series.
