I think I watched this around when it came out and didn't know 70% of the songs, but since 2016 or so I've owned the albums that most of them are on after rediscovering them through Pandora
Absolutely Amazingly Awesome. I have a C-3 and a 122 and a 122RV stacked in my living room here in Pittsburgh. I spent 4 years searching this country until I found the RV in Iowa in a church that had closed and it probably hadn't been played but a few times.
Dude you rock. I've watched this clip like 20 times during the last 5 years. I'm a full time musician, i know little about the hammond, I know some of the prog rock tunes you play, but i like them all. This is the kind of video that keeps me inspired all the way. Love it
I have probably watched/listened to this video a few dozen times. It always brings tears to my eyes. There is nothing like the sound of a Leslie rotating speaker driven hard. Perfect Strangers! O M G! Such emotion! Great work, Thomas. Thanks for sharing this.
I'm a guitarist, but whenever I see a band with an organist my eyes are looking out for when the foot hits the Leslie pedal to send it spinning fast - it's a truly expressive sound, and I'm fascinated to see it being brought in and out of play!
Exactly. When I was very small and even not aware of what Hammond is, I was fascinated by that "screaming" instrument familiar from classic rock recordings, such as Deep Purple , Uriah Heep and Pink Floyd. That rocking sound became my obsession and I sought after it in many recordings. I only found truth about Hammond organs with availability of the Internet
Excellent playing. I've been lucky enough to meet Keith Emerson, Steve Walsh and have dinner twice with Yes; when all band members were there. THANK YOU for keeping all this amazing music alive. I'd love to hopefully hear a CD from You and Rick WAKEMAN. Your amazing!
Brilliant use of your C3 and 145 period and the mini Moog was a nice touch. Never get tired of the sound of either instrument, and you showcase them both very well.
Just came across this on the day that we got the sad news that Keith Emerson was dead. This reminded me of him, especially the 'foot' assistance, and the Hammond/Moog combination (although I never saw him use his nose!) A fine performance which brought a smile to my face. Thank you Mr B.
Great video, I had a very good time watching. You really had me smiling when you went from Child in Time back to Thick as a Brick! Also since Deep Purple and Jethro Tull are my 2 favorite bands! Keep on playing! \m/
Apart of excellent playing skills, very good choice of music - few prog-rock classics! Also great songs featuring decent Hammond part: Yes Roundabout, Genesis Apocalypse in 9/8, Argent Hold Your Head Up, Boston Foreplay
Excellent recommendations! I'm gonna give these a chance once I find time to withdraw from life... ;-) I did in fact transcribe the Argent solo some time ago and played it live on one occasion. It was a hell of a work but the audience reaction proofed worth it.
OMG , I think I just experienced my very first ever .. "Eargasm" .. Excellent performance and honor paid to one of the finest musical instruments ever made ..
Absolutely great music! A little "Rick van der Linden" or "Keith Emerson" or "John Lord"!!!! Ekseption is my lifetime-music! I know Rick van der Linden very personally and I met him several times in Germany and the Netherland. Thomas, you are a great keyboarder! Thank you so much for your excellent and exceptional music!
Outstanding Solo Performance! Please keep up the great work! I’m a huge Kansas fan! Saw them live with entire original crew in 79-80. #Kansas #JesusisLord
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I'm a guitar player first, then a singer/songwriter etc. and my solo project is a 60's/70's "Acid Rock" sound inspired band called Bossfinger. I'm a huge fan of Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, The Spencer Davis Group and several others that all have that nasty, grimy, "in your face" Hammond sound. You also appear to be a fan of that wicked groove as you have nailed down not only the awesome tone but most importantly.... the feeling. Cheers to you sir! Well done. Again, Thank you soooo much for this.
After a long, almost myopic obsession with the blues, I'm feeling a renewed hunger for prog. This vid only fanned the flames. Magnificent performance, sir. A nice reminder that the first heavy metal was called baroque.
I loved your work, especially with Kansas (though I got some serious Keith Emerson vibes with your foot on the keyboard, if you didn't have your Moog on top, you could have tipped it over, or maybe used a knife!) Seriously, I loved Portrait, of course on stage, Steve used to play organ, while Kerry played the synth. Great showing! Of course, Kansas is still recording and touring, with original musicians Phil Ehart and Rich Williams. RIP Robbie Steinhardt :-( .
Hi Thomas thank you thanks you for playing kansas and deep purple. jon lord is smiling down on you for sure. I am looking at a C3. you convinced me to stay old school. i am in Los Angeles. i hope you are with a group now. keep us posted! Marcel
I can't get enough of the Hammond organ! Long live Jon Lord!
He was a stellar musician.
And Thomas Burlefinger
Hammond and Leslie are the only electric couple who never got divorced, they are literally the perfect match.
life mates for life and they are immortal so YAY US!!
I know, no Hollywood drama here, no sir. They live happily ever after...
Jon Lord sitting on a cloud with a big smile
So good! When that organ goes overdrive the world just becomes a better place.
I think I watched this around when it came out and didn't know 70% of the songs, but since 2016 or so I've owned the albums that most of them are on after rediscovering them through Pandora
Wow! Thomas, that was great! I heard ya all way down here in New Orleans.
The Hammond with Leslie is unreal.. WOW! Excellent playing...
Brilliant. First time I heard this amazing sound was from the acclaimed world in action theme.
Well done. The Moog reminded me of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the Leslie 145 internal side view in action.

Man dude, that was so intense. Lit one of my favorite keyboard videos of all time now. Amazing

YES! When I die I want to time travel & come back as a Hammond B3 organ, Leslie included, being played by Steve Winwood's lovely fingers.
Great pics for medley. Awesome sound. Smooth playing. Thanks.

The Kansas stuff.... My God Walsh was a beast!
your playing is incredible, your keyboards are ggreat, but also you are very funny
Dude, I love you man. Solid stuff.
Brilliant use of your C3 and 145 period and the mini Moog was a nice touch. Never get tired of the sound of either instrument, and you showcase them both very well.
Couldn't have picked a better band to pay a tribute to.. great job
I remember when I stumbled onto this video almost 10 years ago and was blown away with your great playing! It still sounds just a terrific today!
Still listening in 2023.

Beautifully done. A complete privilege to listen to this. That Hammond is fantastic, too... nothing sounds like it. Wonderful instrument.
Hell yes to The Spider! Nice job

OMG , I think I just experienced my very first ever .. "Eargasm" ..
Excellent performance and honor paid to one of the finest musical instruments ever made ..
I don't know if there has ever been a more perfect pairing of keyed instruments than the C3 + Moog.
Excellent video. I thoroughly enjoyed it! :-)
Fantastic! Love it!!!
thank you for that! it is very inspiring to see someone so dedicated to their craft and enjoy what they do! amazing sounds!
ONCE I ROSE ABOVE THE NOISE AND CONFUSION JUST TO GET A GLIMPSE BEYOND DISILLUSION! I WAS SOARING EVER HIGHER!
You can line all of the Yamaha Motifs,Korg's and even Nord's and you just can't beat a real Hammond and a Leslie. Great Job!
This is incredible, love the growl of the Leslie speaker and the classic Hammond sound that us prog rock fans love, great video!!
Wow so much of that stuff brings back such memories. What a lot of fun you're having there.
And the more you get into it, the better it sounds.
Great job! Named them as I listened, then realized you put the titles in.
prachtig om te horen wat een Hammond presteert als hij op de juiste manier word bespeeld, perfect!
Loved the transition from Tarkus to the Spider, very well thought.
Hey Eduardo! Thanx for your detailed reception! ;-)
Yeah. I would pay money to witness that live with a band. That was awesome!
It´s Amazing. Great
This T. Burlefingeer transition ! Awesome ! An Eargasm !
Nothing like an organ, especially a Hammond & Moog set up!
Absolutely great music! A little "Rick van der Linden" or "Keith Emerson" or "John Lord"!!!! Ekseption is my lifetime-music! Great sound Thomas - "cut " C3 playing at it's very best with some nice Moog work. All the best Keith.
Well done. You looked like you were really enjoying yourself!

EXCELLENT!!! What great sound you have, and talent!
Thomas, you are amazing! Precise and intuitive playing, am truly blown away by your musicianship!
Great medley and good technical skills. (Deep Purple's Jon Lord is my favorite).
Pretty fine playing Thomas. Loved it.
Lovely playing! The overdriven leslie is unbelievable. I enjoyed it very much thank you!
this is exactly how in my mind a hammond and a minimoog should sound together
Well done! Two Beautiful classic instruments together.
You are a lucky guy to have this beautiful instrument and really know how to play it!
