I am just sitting here in tears. Watching you both grow and enjoy makes my heart happy. I have health issues and can not travel. Seeing all of these places through your eyes is amazing. Thank you so much from those of us who will never get to those places. Love you both.
I too have tears in my eyes. I was a traveler before a drunk driver put me in a wheelchair many years ago. Kara and Nate produce such wonderful videos. They are my absolute favorite. I really feel like I'm there. I especially love this one for the biblical significance. God bless them and may they continue to create informative videos and have great success in life.
"I'm gonna touch all the marble!" - Kara, 2018. I think Kara is excited...I'm not sure. Note to self, get up really early to see ancient ruins. Amazing video, as always!
As someone qualified in Ancient History, I've never actually touched any of the stonework (floors apart, obviously), except for academic reasons. I once brushed past a wall in Ephesus and even now still feel guilty...
I pray that I will be able to walk where the Apostles walked and where Paul was preaching! Absolutely amazing! Reading the book of Ephesian is definitely a must! You are showing so many great footage! 🙏✝️🙏
1 corinthians 13 is such a beautiful verse, i’m glad you included it! ❤️ i’m in high school and currently taking multiple ap history classes; watching your videos about egypt and turkey have genuinely been so helpful in placing what happened in a modern perspective! love what rick steves said- imagining the tourists in togas really gives you an idea of how populated these ancient cities would have been!!
My husband and I had the same experience at Ephesus. Ephesus was a port of call on our cruise. We opted for a private tour that picked us up at 7:30am (cheaper than you would think to get a private tour as opposed to booking through the cruise line and being on a huge group tour). We were at the archeological site by 8:00 and it was just us, our guide and ALL THE CATS until about 9am! Such an amazing place!!!!
What an experience! To have Ephesus all to yourselves. Amazing. Love this vlog so much because of the historical significance and ties to Paul. Thank you for including 1Cor13!
Yeah, they had nice pots, lol. I'm not convinced that Kara was actually impressed by the toilet situation. So many funny moments in this one. Fascinating history, didn't realize it was the second most important Roman city and that it had previously been Greek. By the way I'm right nearby, currently on Samos island in Greece and you can see Turkey from here. Very tempting to go there!
Yeah I spent three weeks in Turkey in 2009, but didn't go to Ephesus. Cappadocia is one of my favorite places. I want to go back to make some better videos. Have fun!
I went on a group tour of Turkey. Would love to go back & hire a guide to take advantage of chances like this. An empty Ephesus would’ve been amazing 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Would love to visit one day, sit in the amphitheater & image Paul preaching to the Episians. He was bringing so many citizens to Jesus that the craftsman that sold idols noticed a drop in there business. They complained loudly causing a riot.
you two are such a pleasure to watch, the joy that kara brings justs makes you smile. and you too have your own special charm, a very nice couple enjoying their travels, thanks for sharing
This place was amazing! I love when y’all share history facts! It just blows my mind to think you walked on the same ground as Paul and Mary🤯 So happy y’all do what you do!!!! Thank you!! Stay you 😘
Glad that you started to include more info about places (like history etc). IMHO getting knowledge is the most important and most satisfying part of travelling!
You guys are making me want yo go to everywhere in the world and just explore every inch of it. Like i never reslly wanted to go here and now im like WOAH TAKE ME.
Rick Steves is my travel guru! For Dubrovnik, he recommended viewing the crowds as a modern version of what the city used to be like. Several hundred years ago, they were selling fish, and now they're selling souvenirs. But they're still selling and buying and trading. It made the crowds much more bearable. :)
Good Morning.....5:20AM, Another 12 minutes and 48 seconds to start my day before getting ready for the kidlets. Well, hormone raging high-schoolers that is. But good teenagers, all the same, that are taking a college level course so I gotta keep up my game....But there is always time to relax and watch K&N. Thanks Guys.... 5:40AM, Just finished watching the video. We covered social inequities in the ancient world (Rome and Greece, and others) last week. I am SO going to share this video with my students. The architecture will supplement my lessons perfectly. Thank you so much for doing the early rising thing. It makes using these for my class much better. Again fellow Nashville native here...
That's so cool! I'm reading the book of Acts right now in which Ephesus is mentioned several times. To see that kind of history would be an awesome experience! 😃
Jared in Nashville, TN July 2020: Paul started a riot here in Ephesus. Acts 19:23, when he said the Ephesians had to abandon Artemis of the Ephesians. Love that story, and that's exactly where it happened. Thanks for this video!
This is great! Totally loved it and the humor! Loved the kitty's! So adorable! So hilarious as Kara reminded me of the actress Meg Ryan in the movie French Kiss, whe. She was with the main guy actir in France walking down the tiny alley ways yelling "Ughhh Wow! Will you just look at this?!! Gorgeous! beautiful! Wish you were here!!" LOL 😆
Ephesus is my favorite Roman ruins ever. I would love to go back. These pesky military travel restrictions are really crimping my travel style. Also - my husband and I just got back from the Faroes and driving around the ring road in Iceland. Our last day, we went snorkeling in Silfra. Did the first group to beat the line (waking up early!), and it was the most fantastic way to end the trip - so thanks for making a vlog about it! Never would have done it otherwise.
went there many times, Ephesus! Love it! Mary lived on the mountain Koressos, you have little house there. But they are not sure about it. But is great it's history 😀
This is one of my absolute favorite ruins. Besides being stunningly beautiful, the historical value is unreal! BOOKS! You never really think of _where_ the first book was made; we just use them and take them for granted. I loved getting to see that place, unspoiled by the throngs of tourists. Thank you for sacrificing your sleep, morning coffee, and breakfast for us. ❤
I love your videos! So glad you survived that mishap with the rainstorm. I am in awe of beautiful and charming you are together. I think with everything you’ve accomplished with your experience. You should give us all you tips for a beautiful relationship.
You guys amaze me! Thank you so very much for sharing your journeys. You're both a source of joy and inspiration for so many. Blessings to you both, wherever your paths take you. 💕
I have been waiting for your video for a long time .. every morning 1st that i do is to check the notification to see if your video is up.... You guys have such positive energy complementing each other every moment .. I wish you guys keep doing this and we love you ..and now i am gona watch this video ....
OMG u 2.......that was spectacular!!! Good choice getting up early. How different is it b4 all those tourists show up. And can I say how lovely it is watching u with the kitties. Remember day 4 of EBC. U were in Namche and watching a movie and Kara said "i dont really like cats that much" with a kitty on her lap...........now look at u!!!!! Love it 😀
Wow a lot has been uncovered since I have been. I remember this really blew my mind at the time. That was 30 years ago lol happy to see it through your lens guys . Great vlog. Keep up the great work! 🙏🏻❤️
You two are living my deans, thank you , thank you for sharing so much. This place hit me. So many lives lost in building this..i’m Italian my father is from Sicily but he always said I needed to come here cause of the history,
Amazing footage, seriously. Always love your videos and your personalities. Your guys' Turkey series helped us out so much in planning our trip. Regarding this particular vlog, everything from knowing to fly into Izmir to see Ephesus, knowing to hide the tripods, the safety around our vehicle and where to park it outside the archaeological site. Thank you! Sorry I kinda used this to plan our trip. We were just in Turkey in February and loved it. The people were amazing, the food was delicious. Stay healthy!
Excited Kara is so adorable (and thankfully we haven't had any more jump scares from her :P). I think it is a good idea to get to tourist spots before they arrive, it always gives me some idea of what the place was like when the original inhabitants were around.
It’s funny how things are sometimes, the moral of the vlog was get up early which is exactly why I am watching your video right now as I’m trying to get up earlier then my normal.
You guys should also visit south-eastern Turkey! It is the cradle of civilization, Mesopotamia, and historically and culturally absolutely amazing! It will also showcase how diverse Turkey is bc it is totally different than west Turkey. But sadly it is often overlooked by travel youtubers and most of them never go there :(
And the food as well...that'll bring 'em back. But, there's much of W. Turkey that they missed as well. Also the Karadeniz (Black Sea/North Turkey) region...huge country, so much to see. I'm not sure if they make it to Ankara...but since Anitkabir (the final resting place of Ataturk who is the founding father of Turkey) is there...perhaps they did?
so beautiful... how great you had the whole place to yourself (in the beginning)! also love that outfitt girl!! thank you guys for keeping us enlightened and entertained 😁😎
Excellent vlog, y’all. Ephesus is where I learned to become a photographer, I went to several concerts in that amphitheater (including Sting!) and visited often growing up. I grew up in Izmir so this makes me homesick, but in a good way.
Had the same great experience in Prague without planning it. Our bus arrived from Poland at 5 am. We watched sunrise on the river, walked the city and to the palaces just a newlywed couple talking pictures, it was amazing. Then coming back at 9 it was flooded with people. G it
Y'all are awesome and make wonderful videos, I also really appreciate the bible verse it's such an important verse! Keep it up and I can't wait to see where else you will take us next in your vlogs.
When we lived in Istanbul , we spent our spring breaks touring Turkey. Your videos of Turkey bring back memories . I was only 10 years old , but my parents were crazy about this country.
I just love how excited you are for Ephesus guys. I can understand how you feel because I was the same when I first saw the Ephesus. Otherwordly experience, right? *.*
We totally love you guys and can’t get enough of your vlogs. I do feel the need to let you know that Rick Steve’s is only 63, you guys are making us 40 year olds feel ancient. lol...safe travels.
What a great idea to download the audio guide by Rick Steves! I didn’t know you could do that - and my crew loves audio tours. And cats. And bible history. And books. Guess we have to put this spot on our list, and get up early!!

I'm in tears just reading this! Thank you❤
I am the same. I have health issues and can’t travel like that. I am so enjoying seeing everywhere you are going.
I too have tears in my eyes. I was a traveler before a drunk driver put me in a wheelchair many years ago. Kara and Nate produce such wonderful videos. They are my absolute favorite. Danielle McGrath Hi with whom you did the private your?
Great idea. I’m so doing this next time in Turkey 👌🏽
What private your was that, may I ask?
we agree! the struggle to wake up is real but SOOOOOOO worth it
What an experience! To have Ephesus all to yourselves. Amazing. Love this vlog so much because of the historical significance and ties to Paul. Thank you for including 1Cor13!
Turkey is a must visit place. Thanks for this video.
I’m so happy you guys put that bible verse on the end 😊 ( even though it always makes me cry 😉) 💜
Thanks for including some historical facts with your tour!
I knew you would love the Turkish food and especially the bread, everything is so fresh there. Great vlog thanks 😁

Ephesus blew my mind! I remember thinking "OMG Paul walked this same roads while writing the bible" the entire day haha Beautiful vlogs y'all!!
Pamukkale (Cotton Castle) has Roman ruins too, Hierapolis.
I went on a group tour of Turkey. Would love to go back & hire a guide to take advantage of chances like this. An empty Ephesus would’ve been amazing 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Paul started a riot there, too. :)
Would love to visit one day, sit in the amphitheater & image Paul preaching to the Episians. He was bringing so many citizens to Jesus that the craftsman that sold idols noticed a drop in there business. They complained loudly causing a riot.
Good morning from Chicago! So glad to see a notification from you this morning. Kara's enthusiasm makes smile!
Goodmorning Chicago :)
11:05 You two shine. Much love to you, Kara & Nate.

Jayden Woods I agree! 😍
Did you go yet? I hope you are doing well, travel is 😊

No offense to Kara and Kate but Rick Steves still has the best travelling channel, even after all these years.
Isn’t he the best?!❤️
Awesome video! One of my favorite scriptures!
Totally super agree to get up early while traveling. The feeling when you beat the tourist crowd is priceless.

I ADORED Ephesus in Turkey! Would love to go back and am now living a lot closer (Singapore versus Cyprus.)
Editing totally on point!!! Faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is....LOVE YOUR VIDEO's!!
I love how much you both appreciate every culture you come across!
Great video! We aren’t morning people in the least, but have founds it’s almost always the best time for touristy places and makes for great photos!
I love that y'all are so unashamed of your faith. It's very inspiring, especially for a huge community like UA-cam! And as usual, amazing vlog!
Fantastic that you have the site to yourselves.
That's so cool! I'm reading the book of Acts right now in which Ephesus is mentioned several times. To see that kind of history would be an awesome experience! 😃
I love how positive and fun you are, and thank you for spreading God’s word, Kara and Nate! 💕
0:15 lol... haha i love her even more with every passing vlog..
I love your videos, keep up the awesome work. Always in my prayers.
I love all the Christian info.. makes me smile.. y'all are so amazing!!!
James and Travis In Oklahoma Agreed! Can’t wait for their Jordan vlogs in a few weeks 😍
Waiting for this video for ever ... your perspective of showing the place is the best

Sooooo happy to see you this excited about architecture and history! This is me every time I see an old building 😉
Ephesus is such a special place! It was definitely worth getting up super early and skipping breakfast!
We always buy bananas the day before we explore early. They dont take up much room in our daypacks.
Thankyou for getting up early so we can appreciate the stillness and scenic nature of places (along with Kara's excitement)... :)
I hope you guys will be the cool Aunt and Uncle. Keep having fun and making great videos :)
Ephesus is beautiful! Amazing how you had it to yourselves. Remember that “Genuine Fake Watches” sign from visiting in 2011 haha
went there many times, Ephesus! Love it! Mary lived on the mountain Koressos, you have little house there. But they are not sure about it. But is great it's history 😀

8:29 that's the exact same cat I saw when I went to Ephesus, I'm so excited for pammukale!
thanks for not placing an ad in the middle of the video!!
We laughed so much at 'OK, now walk normally' . I said the exact same thing to my GF when filming our last video! Great vlog guys.
This video was so amazing! I cried so much. I can’t wait to go to this place and I will definitely get there early.
TOTALLY with you guys on the whole idea of waking up super early to get to places before anyone else!! So much more enjoyable without crowds!!

New video !!! Now let me watch it, I'm sure it'll be amazing as usual
It is amazing
Ha ha! I loved the "genuine fake watches", too! And the sales guys shouted that out with such seriousness...
I went to Ephesus a year ago and it was beautiful! i also touched the same kitty as you did at 6:33
So nice of you to cover such a beautiful historical place !!
Keep going guys !!👌👍
So cool seeing you guys on those empty streets!

Your videos made my day
What a great idea to download the audio guide by Rick Steves! I didn’t know you could do that - and my crew loves audio tours. And cats. And bible history. And books. Guess we have to put this spot on our list, and get up early!!
Do it!! :)
