    ERRATA:
The Blender chart has the i3-7350K at some ridiculous low number. This is because Google Sheets can't handle fractions of seconds, so it converted "26:47.11" into "02:47:11" as if it was the time of day. The i3 actually took 26 minutes 47.11 seconds, not 2 mins 47.11. For the future, I'll probably just round the fractions off...

Hi, I love watching your videos.
I think that the error is that Google Sheets uses hours (of the day) indstead of minutes, if you pay attention to the chart you can see in the "x" axsis are written some values, (i.e.: 00:00:00, 06:00:00 12:00:00 and 18:00:00) after that the cycle repeats. Could be it? Hope I've been useful for the next video.

Are these sellers seeing something that we aren't? Like the video said, you can get a better cpu and motherboard for cheaper, and carry your ram over since I'm assuming people who are eyeing the 9900k or similar are on older ddr4 motherboards.

The i9 9900K was the best Gaming CPU money could buy at the time, but nowadays you can get a Ryzen 5 5600 for the same performance at half the price, and even cheaper a used i7 8700k, for roughly the same performance. Not to mention that the 5s of Intel 12th gen and Zen 4 just smoke the old flagship.
Only reason to buy is just for bragging right at this point, since the most logical reason is to jump on 12400f+mobo for the same price of the i9 9900K. And it's a rather good deal! A whole platform upgrade of cpu+mobo+ram for a new 12th gen kit, probably enough for a 12600kf and ddr5, or just the i9 9900k to cover for the 12400f and mobo cost while selling the mobo separately for a bit more than in a combo.

This shows that the IF is dependent on the RAM speed (2GHz, since DDR is double data rate) and very low latency RAM.

Even on my (now) entry level system on my cheapo 2 fewer Zen3 cores there are much fewer stutters than with Zen. It's the only change I've made other than sticking a 1TB Samsung Evoplus 2.5 SSD to replace a 512GB 2.5 HDD to expand memory,

the memory instability comes probably from a heavily degraded IMC.
intel had no limits and i have seen coffeelake(R) CPUs running at 1.5V SA and IO with high frequency XMP kits.
my 9900k for example runs 4x8 4000 CL18 fine. but with auto voltages it overvolts both VCCSA and VCCIO by over 450mv which is a destructive voltage.

Many Ryzen 3000 chips have fallen victim to this as well with many used chips having dead memory channels and falling well short of boost clocks that they used to be able to hit when brand new.

There is something wrong with your chip or the platform.
I bought the 9900k a year and a bit after it released for under 400$ and the Aorus Elite mobo for 180$, started with 32gb of Corsair vengeance 3200 cl16 that I oced to 3600 cl18, then upgraded to 64gb Crucial Ballistics 3600 cl16, getting 50ns latency running XMP so good enough, the CPU is running 5ghz all core, I have a 6800xt so a bit slower GPU and I'm getting more FPS in the games that I own and you tested.
I love this platform and have no plans to upgrade, playing at locked 4k 60hz almost in all the games no problem.
Actually bought an Asus z390 maximus hero on Aliexpress during the recent sale for 80$ to replace my mobo, also got a few Bdie sets that maybe I'll play with to get sub 40ns latency, maybe try squeeze 5.1ghz from the CPU.
Also got an EVGA z390 dark but that's for a collection and maybe play with not daily use.
Also looking for an Aorus master z390, I know I have a problem but oh well.
I do agree tho that it's not worth buying now at the prices it's selling.
A good alternative to 9900k is i7 5960x on x99 mobo, I built a system like that recently, put 16gb of the Corsair vengeance ram in there and it ran at XMP 3200 cl16 no problem, the 5960x ran at 4.7ghz all core with a Noctua nhd 15 cooler, got rank 1 in time spy and time spy extreme with that CPU and 3060ti, just sold that PC for 1000$, mobo is still a bit expensive but the CPU is 50-60$ on Aliexpress.

I thought this chip was the bomb until I got my hands on an 8700k. Then I realized it was just more Skylake. From my 6700K all the way up to 10th gen it's all the same give or take caches and clocks. Core counts and tweaks. 11th gen brought a new uArch but it also got back ported into 14nm as it was originally designed for 10nm and that process wasn't ready yet. i9 added cost to the consumer and that is what Intel needed at the time. An infusion of cash while waiting for 10nm desktop to become a reality for them. I agree that they should have waited for i9 until Alder Lake. It would have made more sense. However at the time i9 was relegated to HEDT. If X299 was Threadripper material, we wouldn't be talking about this but unfortunately it never was. I hope Intel comes back to HEDT with a TR peer.

People pay a premium for intel over AMD due to longevity, life cycle, and performance. Most intel chips will outllive for 20 years. While most AMD chips begin to fail by year 9. Thats why the i9 9900k is a premium over the Ryzen 5700x. I remember back in the days of the intel 3rd and 4th gen I core up against the AMD FX chip sets. Intel you can still find in abundance while the FX chips the few that remain go for dirt cheap because its bound to fail.

@@tymont6339 not here to have a pissing match on the internet but their are loads if facts that AMD paid TSMC far far less for its CPU manufacturing processes. Than for intel to spend bilions now trillions in its own in house cpu manufacturing processes on smaller nm architecture.
