actually, just imagining how much effort he puts into this videos is amazing. from the 3d animating, to simply just reviewing games takes a lot of skill, and this man does all of that, puts it into a video, and also makes it funny. amazing
Not only that, but the detail in all of it is incredible. Complex animations, top-tier transitions, and I can't even imagine how long these scripts take to write. It really seems like he puts as much effort as possible into every single video

2:03 sadly many devs NEED to shove that OPTIONAL warning for games that support flatscreen and VR mode into your face, because showing VR support in your game on Steam has shown to actually REDUCE sales, because most think that VR is required... One indie dev had to go so far as to remove VR support completely, because the game sales were going down so much and it was starting to have the "image" of a VR only title in social media.
I’ve found a little genre that I “player interaction campaigns”. These games can feel like a good open world campaign but it’s actually a multiplayer game where instead of ai, you have 10-100 real people. The interesting part is that it’s not forced on you like Gmod CW RP how forces you into a specific story that you usually can’t change. Heck, most of the time you don’t even need to RP. You create the story pretty naturally and that’s one main reason it’s really fun. So far I know of 2 games in this genre. SCP Secret Laboratory and Space Station 13. Yes I know that 2 games are barely any for a genre but I bet there are more out there that most just don’t know about. It just feels real if you understand what I mean. Here are the parts that I think make up this genre. 1. The world has to be kickstarted by something not controllable by players, but after that it’ll be driven completely by player interactions. It may be kickstarted again later if things are cooler but the round hasn’t ended. 2. Everyone that doesn’t have a “bad guy” job has a job that when done well, helps everyone else. Everyone is one cog in a machine and when one part fails, the rest start failing too. Even combat roles are support as they are not exactly required to survive and are supposed to just protect others from harm. 3. Rounds last a long amount of time. Around 20-300 minutes. This means that people have enough time to really get invested with the round and create a story.
Barotrauma can be somewhat like what you describe. Every player has a role in the submarine. The only objective is to get froms station A to B while fulfilling some quest in the meantime (so you can earn some money to pay for fuel, and maybe get some upgrades); on the way there, players are met with obstacles like hostile flora and deep sea creatures to make sure it's not too smooth of a ride.
I think I know of a game that fits this, it's called ECO. 1. The multiplayer game opens with the same event outside the players control. 2. Everyone involved has to pick a role that benefits each other the most and if there's enough people, more than one person can pick the same role. 3. Each game lasts one real life month, it might seem a lot of time, but... it's just enough, if you do well.
i love these videos, the attention to detail is insane, at 6:08 when "you" throw a bottle at the wall funke looks up from reading the script and then tosses it aside after dissapearing off of stage left.
it's not easier, he animated traditionally and the keyframes are identical to a 24fps animation but he also converted them into hold keys (either that or he remapped the NLA track to being 4fps adn that's even more work), yes there may have been some errors in those transition frames that he didnt need to fix but all his poses here are perfectly clean and with much more consideration.
hey Funke might be a weird recommendation but for a VR movement mechanic that I have fallen in love with is the arms you get from the "Mystic Hands" mod for blade and sorcery, it lets you have two controllable doc ock arms that you can functionally use like he would, climbing up buildings and general movement feels incredibly intuitive and fun

Now that ur on vr content, would def recommend making a video on vr games with actually good locomotion, bc so many vr games give you literally 2 options, being stick or teleport. Very few games actually try to build movement into the game itself. 2 I can think of off the top of my head is gorilla tag and echo vr. Both games are also just worth checking out. V fun
Dig the idea- i've kicked a script around before about vr locomotion, but at the time I had an old rift and there weren't as many VR games out. I think it'd be cool to chuff through the topic again
If we're on the topic of locomotion, there's a few games I might throw into the ring. Gunraiders has the "Black Ops 3 Movement" system with gliding and a jetpack, which is simpler, but the upcoming Zenith MMO is apparently going to have ziplining and all this cool stuff to make yourself nauseous with. It might just be a husk of what could be, but I'll find that out and report back in a week or two, lol
One of the nicher VR titles I’ve seen that attempts to innovate on movement is “The Under Presents” from the creators of Virtual Virtual Reality. It has standard dual analogue movement but there’s also this form of moving that pulls the environment to you instead of moving you through the environment. It’s like grabbing and pulling a rope, the space distorts towards you in this really unique way and instead of moving from point A to point B, point B is moved to you at point A. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how this “scrunching” locomotion method is great for dealing with motion sickness. While I personally don’t get motion sick with VR very often, I can totally understand why folks like this form of locomotion. Not only is it justified within the universe of the game itself it’s just such a cool effect to see in VR. Even though I understand it’s hard to fit a mechanic like this into a game it wasn’t made for, I’d love to see other VR games attempt a similar locomotion system in the future. Or at least, take a similar approach to innovating on VR locomotion.
I feel like a proud dad seeing how freaking good you've become making videos. Every second of these videos seems like hours of editing went into them and we really appreciate that

Ngl, I’m so glad I stumbled on this channel, really underrated content with actual meaning. Also, I recommend trying Sprint Vector, a Vr racing game that focuses on a different type of locomotion. Servers are kinda dead but it’s still pretty fun
I've been trying to find interesting VR games, and god do I hope you continue making VR Videos. Your script-writing skills combined with you actually researching good games will make it wonderful. With glory being said, one VR game I can absolutely recommend keeping your eye on is A Township Tale. Now look, it *does* still follow the stick holding trope of current VR games in some ways, but that's really to be expected, because its a low fantasy Multiplayer RPG. It has really enjoyable and well make mechanics for crafting stuff, and it has fighting that feels better than most blade fighting I've experienced thus far. Best part is, it is being given a LOT of love by its dev team, and is absolutely still growing. Aside from that, though, I'm gonna need your help to find *hip* and *cool* new VR experiences.
Thank the youtube gods for recommending this youtube video. How has this much effort gone under the radar? Seriously, the animations, the humor everything. It was such a fun video to watch.

@@FUNKe :o
Or at least, take a similar approach to innovating on VR locomotion.
jet set Island is pretty cool. you get a jet set and ropes. gotta Build a lot of speed on the ground to then sling yourself up.
I feel like a proud dad seeing how freaking good you've become making videos. Every second of these videos seems like hours of editing went into them and we really appreciate that
Why would you feel like a proud dad... Its not like you mentored him. Youre just some commenter with an anime pfp no.200
Dozens of not hundreds of hours of editing

@@Liam-fd4uh So? Im not taking credit for anyones work?
@@yeetyfreety6938 he's not taking any credit
Why are you reacting like this?
He's probably been watching the channel for a while (same as me) and feels happy to have seen funke grow this much in his video production
Same goes for me, I'm happy for him
Noone is taking any credit
This guy's humor is on a level above. And I haven't found a non-entertaining video from this guy
your animations are the kind of animations i WANTED to make when i was a kid!
6:25 the little detail of lifting the vr headset and it not tracking anymore and showing grey is the most ptsd inducing feeling i have ever gotten from a youtube video
Every second of time and effort you put into your work really pays off , You pump out masterpiece after masterpiece of fine tuned varied Jokes & amazing animation all backed into 10 minute delightful chunks, I feel bad for anyone who is missing out on your astonishing channel. Thank you for adamantly giving up countless hours of your life for our enjoyment!
9:18 WHAT A TRANSITION HOLY SHIT
my least favorite thing about melee in VR is when an enemy does a lunging attack into you and you have to play casper the ghost trying to move away from them just for them to do it again. blade and sorcery please
To be fair, I think it’s trying to get you to parry it, but I agree that the ai is pretty unforgiving when it comes to freedom of movement.
My entire Blade and Sorcery gameplay is just sidestep and punish these days. Sidestep parry, behead. Sidestep, kick, impale into ground. Sidestep, dismember. Please just make it end....
10:57 Honestly i'm just as impressed about this piano playing as the design of the Jeff level from what you described
I'd love it if he did 30 minute videos every 4 months I'd love edited and animated like this
5:55 this whole piece is probably my favorite animation from the last few months, and made by one dude
i love how the camera sometimes twitches and moves really awkwardly, kind of like a VR
"Yeet the wheat", except it's a vodka distillery-it's all distilled from potatoes.

Absolutely astounded you pulled out Feed Me Jack of all bands as a rating system - top tier musical taste along with top tier videos
Hell yeah. Was scrolling just to see if I could find any other feedme jack fans
The combination of the character animation, quick snappy pace, and you just plain being very funny really puts these videos in a league above any other gaming videos I've ever seen on youtube and since my friend showed me one I've been anxiously anticipating the next, loved this! Thanks so much and keep up the good work.

One of the best UA-camrs on this platform.
The animated parts look super smooth and stylized. Nice job FUNKe!
Ive never seen one of your videos before, but I'm blown away by the quality of this with your animations and all that. Seriously cool
Oh my god dude last time I watched your content it was TF2 gameplay and now you're making 3d animated verbal essay videos with amazing production quality. I love it
Your videos have this excellent talent where they're infinitely re-watchable
I've never seen someone animate *being in vr* they way you do, like at 0:12. Incredible.
And the transition out of it is 👌🏻
Then you should watch more videos on youtube because that is nothing revolutionary over the past 5 years lmfao
Im subscribed to like a handful of people, dunkey, internet comment etiquette, vic Berger, etc but had to sub to you. dont get how you dont have a few mil subs, the humor doesn't feel forced, actually great writing and clear passion for production/editing. also great taste in music man just keep going, lmk when some one picks you up as a staff writer lol im sure its coming
3:53 the animation style and references make this channel 100x better than other animators
that was smooth by the way, the way you plugged your plushie and how you made the viewers want the plushie dismissing their opinion, very smooth
Every Funke upload is like a birthday gift, they're always fun, the quality is incredible, and i always have a great time watching. Thank you for your hard work into making such good content!
These videos still manage to amaze me with how animated the camera is and how lively Bombi feels
You have one of the most genius ways to advertise your plushie!!! I love it!!!
I like how everything that’s on FUNKe is detachable
Always a good day when FUNKe uploads
I cannot stress enough how this animation style is just way too amazing!
it's such a treat to watch.
That's an incredibly well made video. Visuals, editing, narration - everything is spot on.
Holy frick how have I never heard of this channel before? The animation is so high quality and the comedy is magical! Not to mention you talked about amazing vr mechanics for like 12 minutes, one of my favorite topics ever! Time to watch a backlog!
I have rewatched this I don't know how many times, and I just noticed at 6:34 he pulls the collar of his shirt off to pick up the glass, then casually puts it back on through his neck.
I am glad I have been here to see you grow creatively. Since I found you, I felt that your videos are enjoyable to watch, and your past several videos recently are on another level entirely. You are awesome, FUNKe. Keep doin what you do.
7:27 My only ammo problem in the game was with the shotgun since the ammo you find for it is pretty rare. I never ran out though, even on the hardest difficulty.
I was watching this video, thinking "hey, new FunkE upload, this is really good, I love it so far." And then you just pull up with the Ultra Ego album cover from Feed me Jack as a review guide and i was instantly like "holy sh*t, FunkE knows about these guys, what the hell." And that's when i found out that you are clearly the best youtuber of all time.
This is the comment I was looking for
ye he used "Definitely you" in the outro of one of his videos like 5 years ago, that's how I know them too :)
Right? I was so confused for a second because I've yet to hear another person talk about FMJ.
These videos are so damn underrated. I can’t believe content this good is just floating under the radar. The editing, animation, and commentary are beyond great. Your content raises the bar for the genre, and is a perfect example of how to please the algorithm through retention without compromising creative satisfaction.
Ultra Ego is considered an acquired taste? hmmm
I'm incredibly impressed with this channel's script, jokes and animation, don't know how i got here but i'm glad to experience it!
Your animations never cease to amaze me
Ngl, I’m so glad I stumbled on this channel, really underrated content with actual meaning.
Tea for God.
VR Kanajo.
It's crazy how often I find new amazing channels that I have ever seen anything from before.
Thank the youtube gods for recommending this youtube video. How has this much effort gone under the radar? Seriously, the animations, the humor everything. It was such a fun video to watch.
Man, you've definitely come a long way dude and your content is genuinely entertaining and hilarious. I can tell the amount of work and effort put into it, keep up the great work!

Genuinely fantastic video, your style of presenting information and ideas is super satisfying and enjoyable for reasons I can't even begin to describe that set you apart from others. Def looking forward to hearing your thoughts on whatever else you talk about in a future video.
Also the completely out of nowhere Feed Me Jack mention to expand the Blue Album based scale fucked me up for some reason
