    Heath, so seasoned them exactly like you did and mopped them just like you did & cooked them for about 5:30 hours. I have an old Traeger they were fantastic man! Best I ever cooked! My granddaughter she’s 3 ate 2 and my grandson he’s 5 ate 3! I thought they were going to pop! Lol! Thanks man I’m a total amateur but that recipe was simple enough even I couldn’t mess it up.

    Now we are talking. I use some Wickers, apple juice and Maggi seasoning in my mop. No wrap with the butter and brown sugar goop. I do cover them lightly, not tightly and let them rest on the stovetop for about an hour.

These were the best ribs I have ever made and in my opinion were every bit as good as what they're serving at places like Rendezvous in Memphis. I hope you have time to answer my question. I've been using a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker for a few years now and have done very well with it. However, I feel I'm ready to move to the next level. I like the results that I've seen you get on your videos using a Traeger Pellet Smoker. I would like to know which model you are using and would also like to hear any advice you have on which one to buy or not to buy. Thank you.

    • @HeathRilesBBQ

      I have all 3 models. For the money the Traeger 885 Ironwood is hard to beat. I actually use it to cook my competition chicken on too!

    • @David13Rome
      @David13Rome 3 роки тому +1

      @@HeathRilesBBQ Thank you so much for your advice. I appreciate it. The Ironwood series certainly seems to be a cut above the pro line. I'm not sure I need one as big as the 885 but I'd still consider it especially if I can find a retailer that offers an interest free payment plan (or low interest, LOL) - Might look at the 650 Ironwood.
      BTW, I almost exclusively use your rubs and BBQ sauces. I often mix and match them but love using layers. I recently smoked shrimp using your Garlic Butter and Sweet Rub (I sometimes use Old Bay on a batch of them too). Only took about 20 minutes at 250 but turned out fabulously.

      @@HeathRilesBBQ To follow up, I had a pellet grill for a couple months (Grilla Silverbac) and was very disappointed in the amount of smoke flavor I got even with a smoke tube. After checking around that seems to be a common theme with pellet grills but many people are satisfied with the lighter smoke. They certainly are great at keeping steady temp though. Anyway, I wanted more so I went and got a Char Griller 980 Gravity Charcoal Smoker and man I'm in heaven. I love this grill. I know you're into to pellet grills but I would love to see you check out a gravity charcoal and do a cook on one. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I appreciate your help. Your videos are the best. I just restocked on all your rubs, sauces and butter bath. It's amazing how fast in hits $100 LOL but your rubs are the best. I love your new Cajun creole butter rub. It's fantastic on steaks and burgers, especially if you add smoked cheddar cheese to it. Thanks again.
