    Yo do you close the airflow all the way or keep it open after two hours I can’t get the same type of bark you get?

      @ChefJasonMorse Рік тому

      Hi Dawson, I keep it wide open. This barks comes from not wrapping and the spraying. Chef Jason

    I suck so bad at ribs. Can you say 3 alarm fire? make sure you don't rip the foil or you will have a really smoky afternoon putting out the fire.

    Today was my first pork rib cook and I followed these recipes and techniques, but the finished product doesn’t have enough smoke flavor. The Rib looks good, but my electric smoker with chips does a better job, I used 250 degree throughout. Does this grill put out more smoke at a lower temp cook?

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 2 роки тому

      Hi Robert, did you wrap your ribs at all or go the entire way at 250, unwrapped., sometimes wrapping them can affect final smoke flavor, that's one of the reasons I take mine all the way at 250˚. Chef Jason

      My model doesn’t have a adjustable P setting, so I used a lower temp and got good smoke, looks like I need to use a longer cook time and I usually wrap at the end of cook time,

    Great video- Question - Will the foil wrapped ribs come out the same if you put them in the oven instead of putting them back on the grill? I would like to save my pellets for another cook.

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 2 роки тому +3

      Hi Aaron, you can finish them in the oven if you would like, shouldnt affect the final flavor once they are wrapped. Chef Jason

      the only difference between an oven rib and pellet rib is a faint faint faint smoke flavor

    They look amazing. Is turning 2.5h after first putting them on or after the first hour of cooking or?
    Got my timberline coming next week and can’t wait to try these first!

      Hi Paul, this is after putting them on the grill. if you are laying the ribs flat on the grill grates, no need to flip them. enjoy the new grill and please let us know what we can do to help. Happy Cooking, Chef Jason

    Do you "just" put the butter and brown sugar on bone side?

    Does the same temps and cook times work for baby back ribs?

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 2 роки тому

      Hi Artjan, timing should be very close for baby backs. As long as they are about the same size as the spares, should be close or within 5-10 minutes more cook time. Happy Cooking, Chef Jason

    What bottle are you using for the apple cider vinegar

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 2 роки тому

      Im using Apple Cider, not ACV. I used Motts Apple Cider on these ribs. Chef Jason

    Amazing video. Two quick questions…. 1) do you use the super smoke setting when cooking these? 2) if I cooked 8 baby back slabs with the same method would it work? I saw you responded to someone else with 5-10 minutes difference. Is that per slab or total?

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 2 роки тому

      Hi Patrick, you can use super smoky mode if you want to add extra smoke flavor, I did not for the smoke. The extra time it takes to cook eight racks of ribs would be total cook time, but definitely do a tenderness test To make sure they are done to your liking. Happy Cooking, Chef Jason

    Can I use distilled white vinegar?

    • @ChefJasonMorse

      If you want, I don’t like too much vinegar flavor and the cider vinegar has a smoother flavor I find. Chef Jason

    What kind of "apple cider" do you use???? does it matter? Can i just press some apples and make my own???

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 2 роки тому

      I use a basic cider from the grocery store. You can press your own, that would be next level. Chef Jason

    Nicely done Chef. Great way to please different tastes. Do you do bend test or IT check at the end?

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 2 роки тому +1

      Makes everyone happy at the table for sure. I do more of a pull test, I check to see how easily a rib pulls away from the rest. Oh I almost forgot, I temp checked a rack of bark biter ribs.. 197˚ seemed to be the right temp for texture, bite and bark. Chef Jason
