    My wife left me a year ago I see my sons weekends .
    So my dog is my only company and he is helping me going thru this hard time.
    He doesn't talk but he gives me plenty of love and attention.
    I don't mind cook for him or spend $ on him he deserves to eat well.

    • @treasuretrovel3816
      @treasuretrovel3816 3 місяці тому

      FYI, bone calcium is much better than egg shell calcium form (which is calcium carbonate and lacks other minerals). The legumes in this recipe are also a no-no as it puts to much non-species appropriate, fermentable fiber into their carnivore GI tract. This recipe would be greatly improved if the beans were eliminated and the liver and egg yolks were not cooked or at least very mildly cooked so as to preserve the vitamins. Also, I would make sure to rotate this recipe with others using human grade bone meal as the calcium source or better yet, giving the dog a raw, edible bone like a duck neck.

      @@xXxTimbyxXx And what do you think burnt to a crisp kibble is made out of? You guessed it GMO foods. At least now it is a much healthier meal. If you want to use non gmo organic foods, go for it, it will just cost twice as much.
      I assume since you left that comment, you never eat any gmo foods? You never eat anything from a restaurant, you never eat anything with any corn product in it (corn starch, corn syrup, etc.). Don't try to talk about something when you don't even follow what you say :p

      Imagine if you had to eat dry corn flakes for every meal of your life from a toddler until your death… You would come down with a multitude of illnesses, you would have pain all the time and your life span would be only about a third or less of what it could be. That’s what dry dog food does to your dog. Dog food companies have no legal liability for the health of your dog. They care only about money and could care less about your dog - how sick they get or how miserably they live or die. Under current law animals are only property. They have no more rights or value than a lamp. Dogs nutritional needs are very similar to our own. Vets schools do not teach anything about nutrition. even though they claim to know everything. They don’t.

      Yes he has. As I because to many dogs ESPECIALLY die at early ages now from messed up don't even know what's in some of dry foods. To the meal etc products by products crap? Lots have changed over the years. Also many of the bigger brands are stating changes to theirs as well. But 1st when I started my research Blue buffalo to the Hills Science which vets highly recommend to try and even Sale. Some bad batches of both of these we're killing dogs. I've yet to use either one. Causes cancer at early ages. Not cool. Yet seems many are trying to step up their game too.

      Research what goes into. kibble and I' m sure you'll be horrified....absolutely disgusting. And the extreme high heat that they have to use causes cancer causing end products called A.G.E.'s.
      Don't remember right now what they stand for but you can research it. There are no good kibble or canned foods. The only healthy way to feed your dogs are raw or lightly cooked fresh whole foods - human grade and organic if you can especially with the blueberries, or other fruits and vegetables. Dogs don't have the digestive enzymes to digest vegetables
      and fruit. In the wild the fruit and vegetables they ate were already partially digested in the guts of their prey. But in the summer, wolves will eat some wild growing blueberries.

    My Shih Tzu has pancreatitis and I have made her food since she was 8 weeks old. I use only chicken (breasts and thighs skinless cut into 2 inch pieces) because she can't have too much fat. I use 3 1/2 cups of water to simmer the chicken, carrots (I use regular carrots because the "baby" carrots are bleached), celery, sweet peas and Lima beans to season the water (she LOVES the creamy Lima beans). Once the chicken is cooked through, I take it out to cool, and take out the veggies and place them in ice water to stop the cooking and preserve as much vitamins as I can. I add 1 cup of brown rice and 1/3 cup of dried cranberries to the water. I process the chicken, then the veggies when cooled, and the rice is done in about 45 min. The rice is still soupy so I also add 2 pkgs of plain instant oatmeal. This is enough food for about 14 days, being fed 1/3 cup twice a day. Today she is 12 years old and still runs and jumps like a puppy! She had maintained her 14 lb weight all her life and the vet says to keep doing what we are doing because her yearly check ups have been perfect. Next time I am going to add eggs to her mixture as you suggested. Thanks for putting this video out there!

    This looks really good! Glad the pups love it. In 2005, there were a lot of dogs that died from dog food made in China or with ingredients sourced from China. It prompted me to make their own food. Not only do they love it, I know exactly what ingredients are in their food. I usually just use one type of protein though per cooking and switch it up every week with a different protein. Sometimes I add chicken liver to the protein. For vegetables, I switch it around as well each week: green beans, carrots, zucchini, squash, pumpkin, chards, peas. For carbs, potatoes, sweet potatoes.
    I also make my own chicken broth. I used to buy them until I discovered it has onions/onions concentrate in it.

    • @earthling1984
      @earthling1984  Рік тому +1

      Good for you! Happy dogs! Yes you can use whatever store bought or homemade broth you want (or use just water). Some vets say tiny amounts of onion and garlic are actually beneficial. But online, you'll find conflicting info on any topic. In the final meals, the amount of onion is miniscule. My dog is 13 years old now. Never been sick or injured his whole life. Acts like a crazy puppy still. And still has sharp white teeth equal to a 3 or 4 year old dog. I also make homemade healthy treats (see my dog treat playlist).

      Just wanted to add. Get those organ meats in there. Livers, tripe, kidneys, etc.. Also bones and calcium are important. My dog will eat half a raw chicken, or whole cornish hen, bones and all. Never feed cooked bones, only raw. If you don't want to feed bones, save all your egg shells. I just smash them up in my meals, but you can dry them and blend them up to a powder to add to the food.

But do not normally give her any cooked veggies. Also we do not normally feed our food as it contains salt and some sort of tasty bits like chillies, onion, garlic etc. We are getting off kibble, that is what the breeder gave. We continued for a while with mixture of fresh meat and veggies eggs, coconut oil, oats, salmon oil. We are gradually getting away from kibble. She is nine months, so by the time she is 11 months, she will hardly have any kibble. She does not seem to mind, as not fussy eater. Just loves all foods. Bur keeping them healthy is our job.

I use raw goat milk, human grade bone broth, Stella & Chewys freeze dried raw mixers with the kibble. I hydrate the kibble and then my pup is also a fan of raw or gently cooked meat and he will snack on carrots.

      Yeah. You can find all types of info and misinfo online. Some vets even say small amounts of onion or garlic is beneficial. Overall, the tiny amount of onion in the broth and the miniscule amount in each final meal, isn't an issue, and could be beneficial.

    Thank you for this wonderful recipe. My picky Tibetan Terrier loves it! I went to 4 stores and could not find the heart/gizzard combo so just doubled the gizzards. This made 20 cups for $25.00 and is much more nutritious than the Ceasar individuals I was getting. Most of Cheezie's front teeth are missing but she easily ate through the softened meat after I cut it up to bitesize.. Also, I figured out that for each serving, I will save 42 Cents!!! OVER ONE HALF of what I was paying! Thank you...going to try the budget recipe next time! ONE QUESTION: I will feed her 1/3 cup in the morning and wonder what you suggest for the evening since you mentioned dogs should not have organ meats all the time.

    • @earthling1984
      @earthling1984  2 роки тому +7

      The amount of organ meat in most my meals is not going to be too much. But, I usually feed some raw meat and bones (may be hard for your dog) fresh caught fish when I go fishing, and I make homemade dehydrated muscle and organ meat for treats (also maybe too hard for your dog). You may want to stick to just the soft foods. Just make sure to have a food variety, make food slightly different every batch. I don't use any supplements, but for your dog with missing teeth, you may want to add a little powdered dog vitamins to your home cooked meals for peace of mind.

    I've cooked Steve(my great dane) food from scratch several times, and it's honestly a lot of fun, arguably cheaper than store bought(40-80 dollars a bag that he burns through in a week or two), and it makes him super happy. Dog kibble always seemed kinda cruel to me. People will use the hypothetical question to each other, "If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?" I can guarantee no dog would choose kibble. There's a reason dogs have a tendency to beg for "people food", their food isn't very good. I hope it becomes more commonplace to feed dogs actual food, not a bag of dry flavorless pellets.

After it's packed in bags it sits in the warehouse possibly for months where it can grow mold and fungus. Not very appealing. Please check out, (Pet Fooled).
