I reviewed the 2020 IVM Caris from Innoson

- With a punchy 2.0L engine and nicely done interior. I think Innoson means business and I’m quite impressed.
The engine is a 2.0L inline 4 from Mitsubishi. Expect anything between 138 to 141HP. Thanks to Demi Anjorin for hitting me up with this info. Much appreciated
I am Australian and I am really pleased to see the development of industry in Africa...well done! As you may know, Australia has now lost all its indigenous car manufacturing capacity due to the whims of their owners in Detroit. Buses and trucks are still made here, fortunately. If Innoson can make their cars and SUVs in LHD and produce them with a good crash rating then I can see them developing an excellent market in Australia. Innoson should give that serious thought because, at the moment, the Australian market is dominated by the Asian makers. It might be time for Innoson to break the international ice and export to Australia. Good luck, Innoson!
Australiaaaaaaaaa. South Africans love u guys.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching all the way from Australia
Wow, I hope this piece gets to Innoson management.
Thank you!
You do realize that this company import engine and transmission from other countries, right? The only thing african about this car is probably body and paint job.
lovely points you made
I should meet the management of IVM, who knows I might strike myself a deal and end up opening my own dealership here in SA, big ups to IVM company and Nigeria we South African are really proud of you
yes!!! they sure would be open to any partnership whatsoever!💯
Innoson continue to make Africa proud.
No be small
Really, they must talk more about those cars un other african countries. Very proud. From Togo
I agree with u, they need to make more noise about their cars possibly in Lagos use their car in music videos or a celeb advertising more of their cars, competition is heavy if they can make noise and give Nigerians some incentives when buying their cars, i believe it will sell more
Interior are okay but that's not how you review a vehicle, Interior is not the key component of a vehicle. you have not check the Engine specs, Axle, balancing, hose Power(RPM, and components that holds and build up vehicle . you can build an interesting interior like this in any Vehicle which is called Customizing a car. I really don't know what exactly this review will convince someone to purchase the vehicle.
Truthfully they need more PR. Because there is a three year payment plan for Nigerians. Its on their website
Who would’ve thought IVM cars would looks this luxurious?
It looks exactly like a jetta
IVM super cool 💪💪💪
Its a cool car but it doesn't look luxurious at all
@@David-ff3mz has
How did it look before?
This is legitimately a nice car!
They should export to USA because I would buy one.
I would most certainly buy this car. I am completely sold. Good review.
Did you get the car? Did you use the payment plan?
You should focus on doing more Innoson car reviews, seeing that a lot of people are interested in seeing them.
This is hands down the best Nigerian car review channel .. Big ups to you.. Subscribed!
I agree, even though I do not know any other one
I would definitely own one. Innosene motors is a great success story of that space called Nigeria.
I know that Innoson means business, and just as you said, they need to give full details of their product spec and still redesign their website. Their older website is even more detailing than the latter, looking like a job done by an inexperienced web designer. (Something I can do sef 🤣😂). The Mandarin letterings should be removed because we ain't Chinese and don't speak Chinese and the product is for us too.
Kudos to @IVM
Well done @Petrolhead234 for the review!
My first time here,i am impressed with that production from the IVM company.I will browse to see other models under their belt.
Your review brother is top notch! You rank high up there with the big dogs! Keep up the good work.I have hit both the like and subscribe buttons so i don't miss out on any of your future content.
Who is here after Ozo won this car in bbnaija to check the car out lol......this made in Nigeria badge at the back made me heart so happy
Me oh
Nice review, I love it. Sure IVM needs to do more when it comes to information about the car.
I’ve reached out. Hopefully They get back in touch. Thanks for connecting
@@petrolhead2349 do there later get back to u?
Great car and great review. I wish more nigerian cars are reviewed on youtube so that people can be encouraged to buy them.
I’m not from Nigeria however, I’ve fallen in love with this car. Hope it’ll be made affordable in my country soon! ❤️
It looks so nice, I want to buy one and I would be proud of it with the badge that says made in nigeria.
As u opened the Bonnet, I saw this is an I Vtec, 4 cylinder engine, 2 liter, max 170 horse power. CVT transmission. This car is totally manufactured in Nigeria. Just finishing parts are imported I love the G wagon SUVs
If you are old enough you will remember the beginning of Hyundai, Daewoo and even Kia, they were made fun off, but you are serious and strive for progress the great results follow. I even enjoy the fake exhaust, fake it till you make it is in the American way to pursue big goals from whichever modest beginning. Bravo IVM, 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 to the Nigerian spirit of development and entrepreneurship, let it shine all over Africa.
I like your sincerity in everything you say
Nice review and thumbs up to Innoson Motors. A quick feedback to Innoson motors though, while we understand some parts may be imported (no body is an island), it will be great if Innoson motors can fully customize the car and specifically change or translate that chinese display in the car dashboard display. All the same, great progress Innoson motors, we are proud of you 😊
They really needed to do more PR.
World class standard I mean. They have got a very good brand. Let people know and interact with every info as much as possible.
Nice review though.
New subscriber from the USA 🇺🇸
This is the most detailed content I've seen about this car and it's bad because people need to know what they're buying.
Thank you
Thank you for the review. We are doing well. We will do better. Well done Innoson.
China 🇨🇳 work why’s on Chinese language?
@@kingsly1337 Vehicle manufacturers are different from Vehicle part producers. Even Benz may still be buying parts.

GREAT JOB BRO *PLEASE REVIEW OTHER INNOSN BRAND LIKE FOX, IKENGA AND GRANITE*
Sure as soon as I can get my hands on any other models. Thanks for interacting
@@petrolhead2349 AND THEIR relative cost price please if you can.
My brother, hmm. This thing you have done is absolutely commendable. You're absolutely correct that there are no videos or details from Innoson about their cars 0:38. If I want to know about any car, I can easily see thousands of videos and reviews about that car. But there is none about Innoson. So, I commend you again and I ask that you do more, even if you have to engage the company to provide these cars so you can do this at a price. Weldon.
Working on this at the moment. Thank you for your feedback Estherons
Make a public offering so the investors can invest in the company.
Pretty nice car. And thank you for the review. I've searched over and over for IVM car reviews. Your observations are quite valid too, wonder why a Nigerian made car would have Chinese descriptions. Lastly the price range would be very helpful for future buyers. Should also give props to the dealership you used their car. Thanks again.
Last time I checked it was less than 7m I don't know for now
It has the chinese description because they import a lot of parts from China also Japan and Germany it is not only made in Nigeria. We dint make steel so things like the car frame and engine, cooler, exterior etc can’t be made in Nigeria
@@newnigeriaupdates1060 crazy but Nigeria has steel as a natural resource? No? 🤯🤯
@@blademanx
Might have the steel, but it's missing the engineers to built the high precision factories to produce car parts, wich is a very complicated process, that chinese have got to know after buying car factories from Europe like MG Rover, LDV, Volvo, Saab, etc..
@@dan_6915 I suggest when we get better leadership in the national level, they recruit interested persons to go on course in China etc .. over time they come back and apply/teach more Nigerians but we have very stupid and selfish leaders unfortunately.
Very cleann love the look of it
Before I went through the comment section, I thought I would be the only one loving this car…super impressed
Please where can we get more details on the car. Also, how can I invest into the company.
It seems the heritage of this care is originally Japanese Nissan. The Chinese used that car and the styling of the Hyundai Sonata to create the Dongfeng Fengxing Jingyi S50 which is now found in Nigeria as the IVM Caris. But it is nice to see Nigeria get its own car manufacturer and I hope in time it can produce or source all IVM vehicle components as Nigerian manufactured. Way to go Nigeria. :)
Not a very big company right now, it's okay that they don't use Nigerian parts yet
I love to see that even in Africa the industry is developing and it has a long way to go but it is obvious that most cars are just assembled with Chinese parts but that's alright. In years to come I am sure Automakers in Africa especially innoson and kantanka etc will start making their own parts and assemble them. Everyone must start from somewhere. People should know that most Korean Automakers didn't start making their own parts until the 70's because they were using british and american parts for their vehicles. So to see these cars being assembled with Chinese parts is just the start and I do hope to see innoson, kantanka, mobius evolve.
God bless Innoson motor this is powerful all Glory to God keep it up, I love the cars!!
Looks like they get their motors from Mitsubishi! Great idea and good motors for these awesome cars.
Great review. Innoson really makes me proud as a Nigerian. Maybe a sportscar will come soon.
Also looking forward to what they come up with in future
Assembled in Nigeria*,nonetheless it is a step in the right direction..UPDATE,it literally took me a few minutes to find the name of the real actual Chinese car & it’s the “2019 Dongfeng Fengxing Jingyi S50”..which is like the Chinese replica of a Volkswagen. Innosons whole lineup is just rebranded Chinese cars and I really wonder how that is sustainable or logical, especially with regards to what type of agreement they have with Chinese manufacturers in terms of percentage..but anyway, again let me not be too hard on them,it Is a step in the right direction.
You are on youtube for God sake, search for how they are made from scratch, why do black people always love to bring down other blacks especially if they are not from your tribe
No need trying to turn down the brand, it's time you appreciate another man's efforts in the right direction.
Wow,the car looks so an amazing lovely 😍
The marketing team needs to do more, especially when it comes to utilizing the internet and print media etc. For instance as a Nigerian I'm hearing about this car for the first time
Great technology from Innoson, they need to do advertisements
Pretty sleek car. I like it.
This car looks really awesome.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with their logo. Its solid looking...
👏🏿
The leather is on point
Innoson did a fair job copying VW passat at the front and the steering...Unfortunately, the small details and finishing that add value are all missing. Why would Innoson buy everything from China and not tell the Chinese to write in English on the engine, or why should the information on the instrument dispay pannel be in Chinese? It makes their cars feel cheap and gives the impression that they are just assembling parts bought from China. It would also be nice to see some crash tests results...
If Innoson pays attention to the finishing of their vehicles, gets rid of the cheap chinese badgings to make them English and really Innoson customised, post information on crash tests and safety statistics, and do a decent website and PR, a lot of middle class Nigerians would buy their vehicles and stop patronising "Tokunbo".
You should tell us the cost of the car 🚘 in your videos thanks 😊 I like the trunk space and the interior
Nice job IVM 👍👍🇳🇬🇳🇬
Great job IVM
as someone raised in Mozambique I feel proud of this as well, and believe african peoples must integrate in the smartest ways possible so development can reach and improve life standards for all africans. And for the sake of Africa: Please empower your own culture and locals, stop your best brains and wills from fleeing unless it is for returning and making Africa great, stop believing in empty dreams from the empires that got rich at the expense of Africa's exploitation and empoverishment. Copy exactly their scheme and you will turn into wolves yourselves as well, so use your wisdom and creativity to make it your own and unique way. Also hopefully you turn into clean energies soon as well and stop fossil fuel consumption, but for a transitional stage it's a wonderful achievements. Love from Chile!
This is amazing. Just like any car made in japan or korea.
I love what you do... Keep it up
All these celebs rappers artists, singers etc should use these cars for their videos
I hope other industrialists will copy his courage and then do there best to industrialize our economy
A great job done by IVM-INNOSON on the CARIS CVT 2020. But put all words in the bonnet (engine parts) in English.
I empathic ally disagree. All the car manufacturers from the French to Korean, to German and English name their cars in their languages. Why should our own be different. We ave to stop this inferiority complex of exalting another man’s language above ours. Dr. Innocent Chukwuma’s love for his language, culture, people and traditions (which are all intertwined) led to the citing of his car manufacturing plant in Nnewi and his naming one of the cars, IKENGA. Kudos IVM. I ya/ga adigide
@@adaada9738 Your comment is in English, because it's one of Nigeria's languages officially since hundreds of years ago , so engine parts to be in English for world best practices. If there is agreement for cars going to Asia , few words in their language can be in the engine parts to attract them more . Names of the vehicles can be in Igbo language like UZO, UMU, IKENGA & SERIKI in Hausa , plus Fox , CARIS in English. The diversity add perfect taste to IVM-INNOSON vehicles , buyers & everyone knows it. Really Great !
The exhaust of so many cars are the same, and those ones are displayed for fancy purposes, but they never use the word FAKE.
Really nice model. Wish to get more information on the horsepower, and fuel efficiency.
we need large number of IVM cars in South Africa
This is incredulous 🎉!!!!
Noticed the Chinese script. I don’t like that at all due to fact that it’s made in Nigeria 🇳🇬. Overall it’s a great looking vehicle. Thumbs up 👍🏿
yep
Please can I know the year, model, and the cost of this 1 in particular??? Thank you.
Wow ! M'y friend told me about cars made in Nigeria. I did not believe. Really it is unbelievable here in Cameroon, mostly us francophones.
How many years is the guaranty and how much can it cost ?
3 year's guarantee and cost BTW 3 to like 7 thousand dollars depending on the kind of car
How much does it worth in naira
What was the price for the car?
Volkswagen jetta copy, Chinese made parts and power train. Hopefully its reliable 🙏 Looks nice!
Nigerian made parts, it's manufactured in Nigeria
Which power train is made in China
@@retruthdecliesny4435 yea bro you right 😏
At least we could agree that the engine is chinese made
It looks way nicer than the regular crap VW and Chevrolet is offering nowadays
Great Job! I hope you can do more reviews on IVM in the future. Like you say in the video, it's next to impossible to find manufacturer info on the cars. All this talk about if the car is manufactured of assembled in Nigeria, I really don't care about. Even if the cars was "only" assembled in Nigeria, the company still provides alot of jobs to Nigerians that would otherwise go to other countries. If just 1 part of the car (like a seat cover, or any plastic interior part), is manufactured locally, that is supporting even more local business, which will create more jobs, and maybe also keep some of that foreign currency in the country.
The car is very decent don't know why we still but Timo over this brand new that comes with warranty
I’m so proud of #innoson and he motivated me into wanting to do something for the whole world, something #AMERICA has not done before, something no one has ever done and I’m proud to announce that me and my girlfriend are purchasing our first and best car ever on 5th of January #2022. On that day We’ll love to go live worldwide with #INNOSON THE CEO OF THE COMPANY AT HIS HEADQUARTER IN THE ESTERN PART OF NIGERIA, while we trade with him live ⚫️⚫️💭🖤
Bruh, I'm glad to have seen this video. Abeg do some more we really do need car advice. Seems you're in Enugu, let's meet if you're willing.
No automobile company produce or manufacture a car from scratch to finish. You must source some components from outside chain value to compliment. But 60% are made in Nigeria. Mitsubishi engine is better than China engine. It takes alot to build a car engine. What Innoson is doing should be commended and supported by purchasing one. Let's stop finding faults here and there. The logo is Superb. The only problem is they lack media Publicity. Nnewi man dosen't know how media works, he should shift away hope on Govrt patronage and hit the Automobile market with mass production and incentives.
My position is not to sing praises and chorus “Oh Yes”. I’m here to review cars and that involves pointing out the things I liked and the things I didn’t quite like.
I haven’t disparaged the car or asked people not to buy. I pointed out some things that could be improved upon to position IVM better in the automobile industry. If you took the time to watch the video without bias you would also hear me pointing out some great features.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts
Beautiful car..👍.. Love from india
Please bro when u find out about the price please do inform yours.
I really feel like these cars and their parts are designed, and manufactured in China, but assembled in Nigeria. Is this common in the auto industry?
The IVM should be kept, it looks unique
I love this car
Hi have you considered manufacturing right side steering because there are countries in which they drive on the left side.
i am so glad to see this. i wish all african governments bought and used these cars in their classes and banned all asian, european brands in their categories slowly by slowy until we had a 50% african homeland made cars then eventually made it 70% if not 80% made by africans in africa cars. well done nigerians
Looks great. Though I'm curious about the engine with the Chinese writing and also the inst. cluster.
Makes me wonder.
Are these cars MANUFACTURED or ASSEMBLED in Nigeria?
It just doesn't make sense.
And also, are the materials sources and MANUFACTURED here in Nigeria?
Do some research for us.
Have reached out to IVM asking for a factory tour. Hopefully they respond when all this is over and all your questions will be answered. Thanks for connecting
Tochukwu Simon Reviews alrighty then. That'd be great indeed. Hope they do agree.
Munir Umar one UA-camr has done a tour of the factory and also interviewed some of the employees. Her channel is called “banter with nj”
The cars parts come from Germany, Japan and china they are just assembled in Nigeria
Really? Germany and Japan?
Just wanted to point out that Corolla and other cars of its class are called compact cars not midsized. midsized would be camry, accord etc. Kia rio and toyota yaris are classified as subcompact cars
Thank you for the correction. Probably got my thoughts all mumbled up, talking and filming is a new level of multitasking that I'm still yet to master
I cannot find any real world videos of these cars or SUV's being driven. The car had a CVT logo so it has one gear the transmission is a continuous variable transmission.
Why caris though, it sounds white
Damn we have this piece and we busy lucking on Toyota carton corrola & what have have you, Nigerian don't value this car, cos it's coming from eastern region, but this 90% better than Toyota, that depends on hype & scotty to push it to the worls, this is way better than Toyota, the enterior finishing is incredibly better than Toyota an their co that floods Nigerian markets.. their R&D is good but I the logo is poor, and the earo dynamics needs a better design.. but I am way impressed
Any word on if this would be exported? , I would definitely buy it
Watching this video after wode Maya's visit
Me too oo my dear
Me too.
Is it that difficult to video the engine? Give us a better detailed pic. Thanks for the review.
It’s a front wheel drive that’s while it has a lot of space at the back seat 💺
It’s really nice interior
There are times I get Maserati, Nissan, Volkswagen and Audi vibes which means it's very up market.
Any crash test results for the car?
Good stuff. How much does it retail for?
They now have specs and details on their site
Why did you go ahead with the video if you didn't have the full gist? The company isn't ready to do the needful. It's still being run as a one man business. We have to see brake tests, crash tests and durability tests. Also, we have to be sure there are spare parts available.
Absence of side airbags is not a little thing. It's a big deal. Guys, let's raise our standards. We have to be critical of this company so that they'll improve. Safety should be your number 1 reason of buying a car. Until they come out with a crash test video, I'm not interested. No sentiments and compromise when it comes to the safety of my wife and kids. I had a head on collision some years ago, while driving for Uber with my 2007 Accord. I was going on 80 KM/H. After the crash, I thought my car was finished. After everything, all I changed was the front bumper and a quarter panel. I cannot leave a product that I've personally tested to a product that has no crash test ratings.
I saw this car on my street and i didn’t believe it
You didn’t mention anything about the price of the car.
How on earth is this car less than 5 million?
That negative talk at the beginning wasn’t necessary, contact them and ask them about their specifications, their is no perfection anywhere in the world,
I just watched another African vlogger and he we into their manufacturing plant that’s the type of thing I want to see not this
Thank you for your response. I did reach out to Innoson Via twitter and through phone calls but I didn’t get any positive feedback.
Secondly I am here to review cars, a review simply means giving my opinion about a product and that includes the good and the bad. I did point out the things I didn’t like as well as the things that I did. Criticisms such as this will help the automaker to improve in some areas.
Even big carmakers like Mercedes or even Rolls Royce are reviewed in such a way by professional motoring journalists.
I appreciate your feedback and I assure you that I will continue to release more reviews without any bias
I don’t consider that “negative talk” my brother, its an honest review. 5 star reviews do not instigate improvement
How can I go about buying one of the car
On the Logo, they will improve Toyota logo today is not the same as today, all brands go through rebranding, addidas etc
Very lovely happy to have made in Nigeria car more grease to your elbow gradually Nigeria will do more than this
Thanks for watching
Pourquoi les freins sont usés alors que le véhicule est neuf?
