Call Me Kevin
The Sims Life Stories is the first game in The Sims Stories series. The pack bears similarities to the console ports of The Sims games. In Story mode, it begins with the problems of Riley Harlow and Vincent Moore. Rewards are unlocked as set goals are achieved. In the open-ended Classic mode, the player creates Sims and then chooses how they will live their life, akin to typical The Sims gameplay.

There's a real layer of creepiness to this game, from the cameras in the changing rooms to the fact that someone breaks into your house and you're supposed to woohoo with them. Bold choices, writing-wise.
The old games were FULL of this kinda stuff but i guess once the Sims (and gaming as a whole) became more mainstream they couldnt really get away with that stuff anymore. Nice to revisit it through these LetsPlays!

totally on brand for the time period... early 2000s rom coms are creepy as all hell.
It’s just people getting overly sensitive for no reason. Like getting offended for the sake of it. With every generation it’s getting worse. And it’s people my age raising their children this way, I don’t get it.
Kids are not as sensitive to this kind of stuff as everyone makes it to be. Creepy game most probably won’t give them actual trauma, while parents ignoring them and just giving them money to not feel guilty most certainly will.

It's not a real party until someone is passed out in front the entrance to house blocking off access. Let's go round back, there IS a back door to this place although it's pretty fucked.

Dylan was never in love with her. He wasnt cheating. The other girl(Ashley) doesnt know about Dylan’s plan to take Riley’s money. Dylan’s only crime partner was Agora.
@@ccaamille_ And yet when you finish the game and go into Free Mode, Dylan has better chemistry with Riley than Mickey does
as well as Mickey has ROMANCE aspiration while Riley has Family so Dylan doesn't have incompatiable aspiration either(he has Fortune)
and aspirations in Sims 2 do count towards chemistry btw
edit: Riley actually has Fortune too so SHE IS EVEN MORE COMPATIABLE WITH DYLAN

This was so funny I immediately rematched the video and noticed so many funny foreshadowing moments… When the aunt doesn’t return, Kevin says “Was she kidnapped or something?”. Also Riley giving Mickey a romantic back rub in a bathroom, only to have him propose in another bathroom at the end. Life comes full circle. :’)

That really was a wild ride. Lol. I loved it. It really did seem more like the Desperate Housewives game than a Sims game.
Never have I seen a more accurate representation of Sisyphus rolling the same rock up the mountain only for it to roll back down as watching Kevin once again play Sims Stories and immediately changing Riley's appearance drastically and fecking up the game's chemistry system...

I never played these sims 2 stories packs, never really understood them either xD
So naturally watching Kevin playing them is the best way to gain the knowledge of the only correct way to play these stories :D
The way he always tries to break the game or do it completely wrong makes it so much better lol
They were basically cut down versions of Sims 2 for low spec laptops with a campaign instead of a full sandbox. Watching though, I'm surprised how hard it is to tell any difference from Sims 2.
@@occono3543 i think the main difference is that the game doesn't seem to let you do fecking anything at all. Like if you don't complete an objective, the npc will stay at your home until you do it. And if you somehow fail, like dying in a fire, it will send you to your last save

Once you see Kevin playing a game there's no going back, you are physically unable to play it the "normal" way

Sims bustin out is technically a story mode, and by far my favourite sims game. Between bustin out and castaway. Great games

This game was my first intro to the big whacky world of The Sims when it first came out. I remember saving up all my allowance to buy it, even stopping my buying of other toys and candy until I had enough saved up. It was one of my best young-me decisions :)

You just unlocked a childhood memory from my brain. I've had this game and I loved it. I think girl's name was Ritoletta or smth like that. There was also another storyline to play - of a guy named Vincent, but after I finished hers I didn't care enough about a dude to play his bit.

This was my first Sims 2 PC game! I was so overwhelmed and confused, and I didn't even realize that it wasn't main line Sims 2 for a while lmao.
I love that he named the twins after the guy who kidnapped the aunt and....hairdryer.
The plot twist was truly something I'd expect from a normal Kevin video, but the game just put it in instead.
Every time he plays, several lives are utterly ruined beyond repair :)
I can't even describe how much I love that Kevin plays an array of games, but always includes something like Stardew or Sims. He dips his toe everywhere, and we love what he does no matter where he is

The way I played this game into the GROUND as a kid. My mom didn't know it was different from sims 2's normal run so she got this and a few expansion packs. Good times💜
I was kind of confused by the look of the house, but then I remembered that the last time I saw it was in Kevin's last video about it after he completely rearranged the furniture to set things on fire...
Sims 2 for the ps2 was way different than the PC release, they had a pseudo story mode where you'd move from house to house getting new roommates
