The old games were FULL of this kinda stuff but i guess once the Sims (and gaming as a whole) became more mainstream they couldnt really get away with that stuff anymore. Nice to revisit it through these LetsPlays!
It’s just people getting overly sensitive for no reason. Like getting offended for the sake of it. With every generation it’s getting worse. And it’s people my age raising their children this way, I don’t get it. Kids are not as sensitive to this kind of stuff as everyone makes it to be. Creepy game most probably won’t give them actual trauma, while parents ignoring them and just giving them money to not feel guilty most certainly will.

This was so funny I immediately rematched the video and noticed so many funny foreshadowing moments… When the aunt doesn’t return, Kevin says “Was she kidnapped or something?”. Also Riley giving Mickey a romantic back rub in a bathroom, only to have him propose in another bathroom at the end. Life comes full circle. :’)
Never have I seen a more accurate representation of Sisyphus rolling the same rock up the mountain only for it to roll back down as watching Kevin once again play Sims Stories and immediately changing Riley's appearance drastically and fecking up the game's chemistry system...

They were basically cut down versions of Sims 2 for low spec laptops with a campaign instead of a full sandbox. Watching though, I'm surprised how hard it is to tell any difference from Sims 2.
@@occono3543 i think the main difference is that the game doesn't seem to let you do fecking anything at all. Like if you don't complete an objective, the npc will stay at your home until you do it. And if you somehow fail, like dying in a fire, it will send you to your last save

I wish Sims 4 was like that too, that's way more realistic
So with Kevin doing this longer form Sims 2 videos, I really hope he does one of Sims Castaway Stories because honestly, that one is nuts. I love it and it's one of my favourite childhood games but now I'm older I admit I've had a couple of "Wait... the game wants me to do what?" moments and I think the ending would really suit Kevin's humor.

I remember the Sims Stories games. Sims Pet Stories was my first Sims game. Very true that basically everything got one single sound each. When I got The main Sims 2 game it was all strange hearing multiple sounds because of how used to the repetitive sounds I was.
