Great dig, guys! I've dug examples of the Mrs. Winslow's and the Acme Blacking in 1880s sites. So you're int a great era for glass. The Burnett's Cocaine is amazing! GL&HH
Heck of an assortment for our first privy. It spoiled us for sure. Thanks for watching!
That giant marble was very cool. The Hosters beers are from Columbus Ohio, I dig those things everywhere. Be careful, once the bottle bug bit me, my metal detector grew dust.....
Lol between metal detecting, bottle digging, and arrowhead hunting we have our hands full! Thanks for watching!
Awesome bottle finds. What a great dig.

Freaking awesome!!! Is that the same lot you guys were detecting this summer? Check around there might be another pit or even a trash pit! Congrats on your first !!! Your hooked now!!! Good luck to you on your next time out, hope you find another!!!
Yes I believe it is it’s one of James spots I’m happy he brought us along for the ride gl &hh
Incredible wax sealer jar your woman pulled. Very early apply 1870-1880s on that one
Old masons are my favorite and she graciously gave it to me. She will get the next one we find Forsure haha
Wow you guys found some awesome bottles. The first one Becky found was amazing. You need to check out Kit and Caboodlers. They are Mudlarkers in the UK. They found and did a history of the baby soother medicine. It was nick-named the baby killer because it killed more babies than it helped. Keep up the good work guys.
Sweet dig!
Thanks Dawn! Appreciate it!
nice old privy
Thanks! We have more bottle videos dropping soon!
I'm assuming you guys are from the Pittsburgh area. If you are I'm from Beaver County just down the Ohio. We dug a lot of great privies over the years. Pittsburgh was the largest glassblowing center in America throughout the nineteenth century. We. Live in a great bottle area. Good luck in the future.
We sure are, New Brighton area and McKeesport area! We just started getting into dumps and privies last year and have had a blast. Still learning!
@@TheCopperPoppers That's really cool, I'm from Beaver. I'm older now don't dig anymore, it's probably been about six years ago. Great hobby, hard work but can be very rewarding. We dug bottles worth thousands of dollars and I mean thousands. I always enjoyed the historical flasks with eagle's on them or Pikes Peak and one of my favorites is the Clasp Hands Flasks, in the quart size they are beautiful. You dig flasks in colors other than aqua you start getting into serious money on many of them. I dug for about 12 years and still would but my back can't take it anymore. After a while we got spoiled, when we opened up privies like turn of the century we would say no and onto the next one. 1880's and earlier is what we were looking for. Civil War was my favorite era pits because it was just cool to think that the last hand that touched that bottle was during that war and now I'm holding it. For your first pit that was some great stuff and was cool to see the young lady down there and tell her I said first great find for her. The broken jar was a heartbreaker, the marble was really cool and that's worth some money, research it. Burnett's Cocoaine was really cool, I have an early one. We're there any pontiled age bottles in there ? Don't think you will hit pits like this like this all the time, you might go weeks and maybe 15 pits with nothing your looking or very little in there. Be patient, it will pay off. Please keep posting your digs. Keep learning and stay safe, people have died in pits, watch the old wood liners, a wall could come in on you. Always have someone on top looking for cracks forming above you, if so get the hell out of there and bring that wall down from the top and then resume digging. Stay safe and happy digging . ☮️💕👍
WOW!!! Is the glass globe actually considered a marble? I'll give you $50. for it. That turned out to be an awesome privy guys. Thanks for bringing us along
Thanks Bruce, it's a German onion skin marble! I don't think James will want to sell it now but if he ends up considering it we will get in touch!
Wow amazing video! I would love to dig a privy but I don’t have any digging buddies to help me
They are tough to do alone Forsure!
That is a sweet pipe
When you dig on private property, do you sign a release waver or anything like that? Just wondering.....thank you.
No usually it’s just a mutual understanding between the property owner and ourselves. We do have waiver forms if anyone asks though
Awesome dig guys! Did you dig to the bottom?
Yessir we hit the rocky bottom. It was about 6 1/2 feet deep. So fun though
The bottle poppers baby
