Deep Sea Wreck Fishing - Lure Fishing and Fishing at Anchor - Autumn Sea Fishing.

- Travelling far offshore, solo small boat fishing can be exciting and challenging. Autumn and Winter can offer some wonderful wreck fishing and this was a prime example. Trying a new location I had an incredible day fishing with lures and some monster fish with bait. Pollack, Coalfish, Ling and HUGE Conger.

SuperNova - I’m sorry I don’t understand the acronym?
@@TheFishLocker Hi john i have looked this up see here ariamedtour.com/blogs/fue-vs-fut/ maybe this is one supernova we need to burn out
@@carlharris2808 - The cheeky bugger!!! 100% my own. There’s a few greys but absolutely all my own.
Mate when using a spin reel if you hold the braid lightly between your finger’s on the drop, the lure will sink straight down instead of fluttering the whole way down. You’ll get into the zone a lot quicker
When John says to watch that rod for him and a minute later you realize you've been watching the rod! 🤣
- Haha. Thank you for that. You can come fishing with me any time. 😬🎣
Good one mate!
The best day of the week is when you upload really helps me with my mental health just to sit back and relax for 40+ minutes getting educated and enjoying the amazing scenery you are living the best life mate keep the good work up 👍🏼
- I am very glad to hear that the videos are helping you out Aidan. Take care my friend and have a wonderful week. 😊
Nice one 👍
"Christ on a bike" is absolutely correct. That conger was an absolute monster. Great catch!
- Haha. Someone said to me the other day. “You day the most polite curse words” haha.
@@TheFishLocker Big conger? A tiddler... not surprised you threw it back. Mary in a motorcar...I’ve caught bigger anchovies😉❤️🤭
@@mikewilliams4499 hate to burst your bubble Mike. But the biggest fish i caught was a Hammerhead off the coast of Auckland. Ok it was 15inches in length. But by careful placement of the camera and me and my rod, in relation to the frame where it was hung for the photo, my mates and i were able to make it look 8-9ft in length. Just another fisherman tale. Not sure if there's a photo of the thing as it really looked. Might be one somewhere. Atb.
You fish ethically and humanely. What a great teacher for little James.
Thank you very much. We are simply sharing a little of what we love in the hope that it helps folks out. 😊
A phrase I thought I would NEVER hear fisherman say " I stopped using that rod because I was catching too many fish with it" Pure Magic!
No need to be greedy was there. 😊
Incredible. Miles from shore, tiny boat, new gear, young lad, incredible seamanship and fabulous fishing. And all on film.... Thanks man.
Thank you. I am simply sharing what I love doing 😊🐟
I get nothing done watching you, I enjoy your twang and your interaction with James, always makes me smile.
Thank you very much Tony. 😊👍🏻
Cracking video John. My dad used to wreck fish the channel out of Littlehampton, some cracking days of Ling, Cod, Pollack and big conger. I used to go out with him as a lad, made up when I got my first boat rod with a Mitchell 624 reel. 60lb conger first big fish for me at 12 years old!
Thats a brute of a fish for a young lad. 😊
Im in Chicago area surviving covid 19, survived the worse, now watching your videos to recovery. Thank you
- It is our pleasure. Welcome to our channel and stay safe. 😊
A good friend of mine told me about your channels. We have a small boat out of Fowey and go fishing as often as possible. I don't know anything about sea fishing but after watching a few of your videos I know I can learn a whole heap of skills. Thank you for taking the time to make every single one of them. Needless to say I'm a fan now!
Welcome to our channel. I hope you find the content helpful. Any questions just leave me a comment. 👍🏻🎣
Great watching your videos can almost smell the sea air . Can you recommend a book or video that illustrates setting various rigs up .
Spent every summer holiday of my childhood years in Cornwall. My favourite place in the world.
Wonderful part of the world isn it. 😊
I never heard of you, ran into you by accident, I'm Strictly a So-Cal Fisherman. Anyways, I truly enjoyed watching you fish, you do indeed have some serious MAD SKILLS on Catching. For being such a Wicked Bad Ass Fisherman, you sure are Humble and Down to Earth. "You're my New Hero!" Thank You
Thank you very much for the compliment and welcome to our channel. We actually hope to go on vacation to near LA some time and I’d love to do some fishing there. I hope you enjoy the rest of our content and take care. 😊🎣
Look me Up when you're down here, I'll take you out to Catalina or where ever the Fishing Action is "WFO" (Wide F'ing Open!) Take Care Bro
You know what I like about this man? Popping the chapstick during his video...gotta give this man credit 10/10
- I've said this from the start. Our videos are honest. 😊
My best buddy and I are just about to embark on our seafishing journey. Me as freshwater angler man and boy, my buddy has never fished.
We both love your engaging style and boundless enthusiasm for your fishing and for sharing what you know. You have us completely hooked. Thanks for sharing.
Good luck to you both. 👍🏻😊🎣

Probably the best site for this type of fishing on the net. The Channel certainly outweighs, outsmarts and out informs anything I have so far seen.
Just watched your video sat in the caravan in North Wales next to my boat which has not been in the water for two years now due to me needing a total hip replacement - which I have just had! So until next year when I can get out again I shall carry on watching your excellent videos...... while waiting for the opp I have stocked up with a new rod and reel after watching the fishlocker work shop reviews and some new soft lures - please keep doing your videos as it is the nearest I can get to actually fishing until I'm back on my feet thank you and your family take care Mike
- It is our pleasure Mike and I wish you a speedy recovery. 😊
Hi Mike - good luck with the Hip, if it's anything like mine, it should give you a new lease of life. I was told I had Aseptic necrosis of both hips back in the early 90's - luckily only the right side ever gave me serious trouble. I was too young to have anything done back then so had to wait until Autumn 2007 when they decided I couldn't go on as I was, so did a 'Birmingham' (name of the joint type) replacement. Since then, once it had healed and I "got back on my feet" it has been brilliant! 13 years ago now and I get an occasional slight twinge, but I'm walking better now than I was before being diagnosed. I hope yours turns out with the same amount of success! 👍👍
LOVE watching your videos!!!! I'm home sick today, very relaxing watching you ..... actually makes me 'feel better'!! 😄👍💙
You work so hard!!!! Ty John!!!
God Bless you & your family!! 💙
Thank you Debra and have a lovely day. 😊💙
Lovely morning and a cracking day's fishing. Your family will be fed well this week for sure!
- They were fed to bursting that week. Its a wonderful feeling to be able to share the fruits of your labour with your loved ones isn't it.😊
The Fish Locker certainly is, even better when your heart is in it like yours, too. Superb! 👍
So I stumbled on your channel when I was really homesick ( Florida USA) and missing the ocean since we have lived in a Land locked state for the last 5 years. Now fast forward almost a year and my ( soon to be 3 year old ) son also loves your videos. He is obsessed with ocean and fish and loves videos where Fish Locker Jr is tagging along. I love learning different fishing and foraging tips and tricks. Thanks for all that you do and your passion for the natural world and conservation of it too
I am really so happy to hear that you and your son are enjoying not only the fishing but also the shoreline videos we make. I am glad that you can visit the ocean vicariously through our videos and we wish you good health in the coming year. 😊
My Goodness John what a session and what great fish , glad you enjoyed your trip; stay safe stay well Manchester UK
- Thanks Fred. Take care mate. 😊👍🏻🐟
This vlog John is definitely in the top ten club.
- Thanks mate. 😊
That is what you call a great days fishing. Great PB with the Coal fish, few Pollack, Ling and a superb Conger. And to top it off, the wildlife around you.
- It doesn’t get much better than that does it mate. It’s experiences like that where I honestly feel like the ocean is rewarding the effort you put in. 😊👍🏻🐟
@@TheFishLocker That's worth all the bad days for sure. Think you might need a bigger boat for the next Conger.
One of the best parts of fishing for me is catching the unexpected. You never know what's on the end of your line in a lot of situations until it hits the boat.
Absolutely right. Its such a rush isn't it!!
Lovely outing off shore. Peaceful and fruitful day away from the shore. Good catch, mate.
It really paid off didn't it. 😊
Big beaming smile - what a cracking coalie...well deserved and thank you for entertaining us all - we love it!
- Thanks Chris, take care mate. 😊
That was a grocery day filling the freezer very nice!👍😄🐟🐟🐟. That was also a huge eel!😳👍😄
- Haha. It was a big one wasn't it. 😊
Another cracking video John. The reason why I like your videos is, you don't talk down to your audience, you talk informative and I can hear you're loving it. It's your passion and I can see and hear it. Well done.
- Thank you. I don't know why anyone would talk down to folks? I am simply sharing what I love doing. Take care mate. 😊
Must say love seeing these videos. One of and if not the best fishing channel on UA-cam. Keep up the great videos 👍👍👍👍👍
- Thank you Stephen. Really glad that you're enjoying the videos mate. Tight lines and stay safe. 👍
After a crazy day at work what a way to relax and watch you enjoy your fishing so much. Well done John don't stop!!!
- Thank you Joe. This really was a brilliant day, really glad I get to share it with you all. 😊
What a fantastic day fishing. Watch all your videos you have great personality, love your son hope he is keeping well.
Thank you John, we are all well at the minute thank you for asking. 😊
Awesome video, what a perfect day for big fish.i bet you’ll go back there huh.?
Enjoyed every minute,thanks.😊
- I will certainly remember where this one is. 😊
Lovely days fishing John with some interesting visits around the boat days don't get better than this Sir
If only every day was like this. 😊👍🏻🎣
Love the way you have so few editorial cuts in your vids and just rock and roll with what you've got in front of you.
- Thank you very much. I do that on purpose because that is what life is like. You just have to roll with it and figure it out. I hope it shows our videos are honest. Tight lines and best wishes. 😊
Worry of judgement; lack of likes; or fear of failure. So many reasons why my vids have so many cuts. Confidence grows a bit each time though.
Nice trip out John. Some real good fish caught. Thanks all the best.
- Thanks Paul. Take care mate. 😊
John, congratulations on the PB coalfish, nice to see you excited
I still haven't come anywhere near close to beating it!!
Nice bunch of fish. With the covid I haven't been Pollack or Haddock fishing this year, From what I have been told the haddock fishing was great all summer and into the fall with pollack coming in strong later in the fall. Hopefully next year I will be able to get out and get some great fish, For jigging I mostly use jigs in the 12 to 16 ounce size. Some times I have to move up to 21 ounce jig , I tend to use heavy jigs due to how many people are on the boat so it is better if I m straight possible to cut down on tangles
- Those sound very heavy. Are you fishing in very deep water or strong tides?
@@TheFishLocker If we are fishing around 100 ft is is pretty shallow for the most part we are in 200 to 250 ft range and the tides can be strong also
@@thomastonelli3272 - That sounds about right. Here in all but the biggest tides I can hold bottom easily with 6oz in 100ft.
Now that's what you you can only describe the perfect fishing video, it had it all. Brilliant day afloat John, your arms must have been wrecked after all that. 👏👏👏👏
- Haha. My arms knew they have been used. Put it that way. Was a brilliant trip, I'm really glad I could share it with you. 😊
Used to love going Wrecking out of Bridlington with skipper Ian Taylor. Sadly don't have the mobility anymore so live vicariously by watching you.👍Keep the videos coming, gives immense pleasure to my day!
Thats a shame. I have a wrecking trip planned for when the weather allows so hopefully have one soon for you mate. 😊👍🏻
Wow .!!! Some Cracking fish there John, thanks for sharing mate 👍🏻🎣🎣
- It I say pleasure bud. Just sharing what I love doing mate 😊
I love how you explain what you do..I was getting ready for a lesson on how to apply chapstick on a rocking boat!!😉
- Haha. When Ive figured it out I'll do a video. 😊
It’s official...the solo boat fishing is like a fascinating chemistry lesson where you learn tons. The foraging vids are the lessons you miss lunch for cos they just take you to another dimension. Wonderful film John. Surprised you haven’t got a shiner after saying on the live session that Hannah couldn’t bake🍰🧁🐟
- Haha. She knows it was in jest. I wouldn’t dare call her cooking 🤣
@@TheFishLocker I think she's a cracking cook and like Jim, a natural in front of the camera. Being easy on the eye don't hurt any either :)
Another cracking video here John, thanks for posting 🎣🎣👍👍

I had little interest in fishing until I somehow came across your channel. Your enthusiasm and your Yorkshire accent are what got me hooked, pardon the pun.
- Haha. Well I don't mind what it was, I am just glad that you are enjoying what you are watching. 😊
One of the best for a good while John. Nearly a substitute for not getting out, except it makes me want to get out.
- Haha. Almost but not quite the same ey mate. 😊
This fella knows his onions!

What a cracking video John, that Coalie was a monster ....never seen anything like it.
The Conger was nice as well.
Said it before say it again, your knowlege and input is on another level...
Many thanks for sharing.
- Thank you very much mate. I had a great day on the boat, I'm glad you enjoyed joining me. 😊
Really enjoyed watching you fish for the first time today. Love all the information you provide too. My fishing days are over due to chronic illnesses and a recent stroke, but joining you via video is nearly as good as being there!! Well done! Thanks for doing such a great job. All the best! Keep safe. Warmest Regards from Gippsland, Victoria, Australia!
- I am glad that you enjoyed joining me on the boat. I do love my fishing and hope you enjoy the videos we have some crackers in the playlists. 😊
This is the first time I have watched a sea fishing video and it’s amazing. This guy understands tides and sea conditions and looks like an ex army type. Great watch and good guy . David
That's what I call a good days fishing, good entertainment thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Mal, take care and tight lines mate. 😊
Congrats to Whitby's finest. A brilliant vid mate, I've never caught a Coalfish, so absolutely fair play to you!!. I'm sure your father in law will be enjoying some of your hard earned spoils. Along with Mrs Fishlocker and the rest of your wonderful family. I hope James is enjoying his new Lego set!!!

As Roy Schneider commented in Jaws the movie ......“I think I’m going to need a bigger boat”😂
- Here's to swimming with bow-legged women. 😊
@@TheFishLocker when I watched you drag that Conger eel onboard that scene in Jaws came straight to mind😂
As a city dweller in central England and with vivid memories of river fishing as a kid I visited Weymouth some years ago and dabbled in a bit of mackerel fishing.....don’t remember much of the fishing as I had my head over the side🤮 the whole time. You might of guessed that I don’t tolerate sea sickness very well.😆

Cheers, Richard.
Haha. Win win. You get to fishing and yet stay warm and comfy indoors. 😊

Wow, what a day of fishing! Never have seen a Conger that size. Lots of fun & good eating. Thanks!
- It was a fatty wasn't it.😊
John, yes, that one was ready for the Adkins Diet!
How envious am I, that looks like a cracking day you had there.
Red letter day 😊
Great day fishing! You remind me of Finn, an old friend of mine. When our freezers were getting low he was just like you. He would always be on the fish and we had a great time catching them.
Good Luck.
Dave
- Finn sure sounds like a good guy to know. 😊
By anybody's standard ,that was a great day fishing. Bucket list material. I don't have a lot of time in the summer to watch videos, but I'm sure glad I caught this while I cleaned squash. Brilliant!
- I know what you're saying my friend. When the suns shining we're busy people too. Come winter time I love a good fishing video binge. 😊
I haven't watched all your vids yet, but one of the things I have noticed as a retired mariner, is that you always have ' a weather eye' out when boat fishing. You are constantly looking out for approaching vessels etc. As for the fishing and foraging , lovely stuff.
- You know what Roger. YES!!! Thank you. Finally another proper seagoing mariner notices that. The number of times I get people saying "Who are you looking for? Why do you keep looking round? Why don't you keep looking at the camera all the time?" Haha. I guess those who know, know. Take care brother and stay safe 😊
By far my favourite UA-cam channel!! absolutely brilliant vid again 👌👍😎😎🎣🎣🎣🎣

What a cracking day John, certainly caught some beaut fish, show us the cooking part please 👍👍👍
- Thanks Jack. All these fish went to family I'm afraid so no cooking video. Next time I'll keep one back and we can cook it at Jim's.😊
Wow ,that eel was a monster..no wonder those little pollack had gashes in them hehe. Very cool way of fishing for those fish. Lots of good eats . Cheers from Ontario Canada.
- Those slashes are from something bigger and toothier is my bet. ;)
What a days fishing John ,its no wonder you moved from up north to Cornwall, you can't get any tighter lines than that ,cracking video 👍.
- I moved down here because the quality of life was better for me and the family. The fact the fishing is better was just a massive bonus. Haha. 😊
What a brilliant days fishing you've had John that's certainly stocked a few freezers for winter. Amazed at the size of that Coal fish, not seen one that but before. The best fish of the day for me was that finger closely followed by the ling, not because it but your thumb but it was a really good size, wouldn't mind seeing how your wife or Jim will cook it. Next time you catch a decent size long can you do a gutting and prep video please.
- Thank you David. All of this fish actually went to family so there isn't a cooking video, but I will keep the next one and we can do a cook up. 😊
Fantastic day of angling and dangling. Lot of work but had a great adventure. I’m a little tired after all that so I’m gonna take a bit of a nap. Well done.
