Here's an amazing tip. Save all your extra candys and Pokemon. Don't evolve, don't power up. Save them until you reach level 9. At level 9 you get a lucky egg which doubles xp for 30 minutes. Use that lucky egg and go to town on evolving all your Pokemon with the candys you have been saving. You get 500xp for each evolve and an extra 500 if you evolve the Pokemon into a Pokemon that you haven't yet caught. I did this 2 days ago. Got 22,000 xp, I skipped levels 9 and 10 entirely and was about half way level 11. Trust me that's the best way to use a lucky egg.
Oh btw the 500xp for evolving and finding new Pokemon is BEFORE the xp is doubled by the lucky egg, good luck!

You can tell the bike girl is gonna be a pokemon master.
you can actualy see which direction the pokemon is:
if you tap on a specific pokemon in the nearby screen and spin your map arround slowly the little nearby bar on the bottom right will pulse when you turn it into the direction the pokemon is located

It's not like they matter really. I havn't found any of the starters in the wild yet. Much less a pikachu
From my experience the rarest pokemon is Bulbasur.
Coming from L.A. we don't have a lot of grassy regions.
-The dry/arid climate gets us plenty of Charmanders.
-Suburbs give our bounty of Pikachu (at least for me.)
And with L.A. and it's proximity to the ocean... Well having a Wartortle and 84 candies speaks for that.
+Sayu Satoru In Alabama Charmander seems to be the most rare, I've gotten several squirtles and bulbasaurs. Never seen a Charmander in the wild, I picked it to be my starter. I've also encountered a single pikachu in the wild.

When this came out people were wandering around shops in our town trying to catch pokemon. I had no idea what was going on, they'd be mumbling to themselves staring at their phones. A friend of mine walked into a shop while I was there and said to me, "I can't catch this f****r for love nor money" and I was like "what?!", in the end shops actually put up posters to stop pokemon go players from coming in lol.
Another good tip that is often overlooked is to try to time your eggs so that they will hatch at or near the same time. I did this with a 10km egg and 3 5km eggs hatching at the same time. Right before they hatch use your lucky egg and you can get an amazing amount of XP. To make it even better you can then evolve your other Pokémon as well!
Very good tutorial, shown and explained extremely well. I am level seven and have encountered many pokemon. Also have pick a team. I picked team Mystic, so me and my friends can team up to fight gyms. Thank you and keep doing what your doing!

I had a Pikachu waiting in my house for 3 years for me to start playing the game... caught him today, and now my house is a Pikachu magnet. Just need that Pokestop across the street to be a little closer to my bedroom and then I'm set for a while.

Wow that is bad luck. You should find a pokemon every 5 minutes or so with a incense, at least I did. I sat on my butt the whole time too.

If you have an incense you were probably walking away from them or something, stay in one spot the next time
Use incense when you are in one place they don't work great while walking

Nobody's treating it like its the cure for cancer. You need to relax. People are getting out and walking, socializing. It's nostalgic for many. I've read about so many people with social anxiety being able to finally feel good. It's not a cure for cancer, but it sure helps with other issues.

I hate this game right now. I say "right now" because there is almost no major typical Pokemon features, like battling friends or trading, or battles with wild pokemon. And I already almost have every Pokemon anyways, I'm only missing the other starters and the unobtainable ones.

HOW TO SAVE DATA WHILE PLAYING POKEMON GO!:
Go to Google maps
Download the offline map of your area/city when on WiFi
This way you'll save more than half of the data pokemon go would have consumed otherwise!!

you can battle a gym that is held by your own team. Its makes the gym stronger and a harder for others to take down.
One other tip not mentioned: Try to sync your Lucky Egg with evolving a bunch of Pokémon or hatching eggs to get maximum benefit from the XP they give.

Things said that are actually wrong in the video:
You can't pickup missed balls, it does not take dust to evolve Pokemon, and DONT just use your lucky eggs! Lucky eggs need to be saved! Use one when you first start the game because each new Pokemon will be 1000xp. Then save the others and a bunch of evolutions. When you have like 20-30 Pokemon to evolve at once, use a lucky egg, hatch an egg, and evolve everything quickly. This will give you 1000xp per evolution and push you through a couple levels quickly.
I got a free gym with my dad today.. but it got taken over.. and I actually know these things lol... also.. there's a trick for Eeveeloutions, Rainer for Vaporeon, Pyro for Flareon, and Sparky for Jolteon.. also.. if the gym is your own team color, you can only fight it with ONE Pokemon, while a gym for a rival color, you can fight with SIX Pokemon. :)

I have found that rollerblading is much better than biking. I can move pretty fast, stop or slow down easily, and use both hands, which is safer. Plus, I can sit near a stop without having to watch my bike.
Actually when your looking for pokemon you can pull up the tap that shows the pokemon near you to make it the only one to show in the lower right hand corner if you are walking in the right direction that little tab showing the pokemon your tracking will blink if your going in the right direction. So your wrong there is a way to tell if your walking in the right direction of a pokemon. Also they're called teams not factions.

If you select the pokemon youre looking for then the shortcut in the bottom right will pulse gold if youre headed in the right directioin
I wish that you could battle wild Pokemon to increase your likelihood of caching them like in the Game Boy Color games. Also, it would be really awesome if you could battle other players on the road.

lots of the game capture footage was done on my phone, a sony z3 - but my case is real ugly so i try to keep it off camera as much as possible. you can see it in the footage of me biking tho.

hey guys. for the freezing problem. I kinda solved it on android where all u have to do once u click on the pokemon u wanna catch in yr area, ur camera open then u slide down to get the "quick settings" from the phone notification bar, where there is the GPS thingy on. turn it off. catch the pokemon then when u get the "gotch" sign. I put GPS back again. it has always worked with me and I have been doing it for the last week now and there is not a single problem. u r welcome 😁
Please don't waste your lucky eggs while your catching pokemon, This game is all about experience. Save up until you have about 60-70 pokemon ready to evolve, then use the lucky egg and evolve them. Each evolve is worth 500 xp so 1000 xp with a lucky egg. and you can evolve nearly 70 in 30 min.
I hate people who play but have never watched the show and say they have no interest in it but act like they know everything about it.

Guys another tip biking even can be to fast so bike at a slightly lower pace. 20 km is the listed maximum speed but anywhere above 15 will often not work to hatch your eggs

To get the Pikachu do I need to leave the starters completely ((from the circle)) or can they still be in the circle?
My starters are all spread out unlike in the video. So do I need to go within the 'triangle' of the starters then walk away or do I just go to one starter then leave?

It would've been the best if pokemon go was an offline game I mean you don't get wifi's all over the world or you don't have some crazy plans for unlimited data packs
actualy there is a way to track them thahts not hot and cold (u can prss the pokemon in the menu with the footprints then u will get acircle around ur pokemon ) onc u have thaht cirlce sync up ure compass to the way ure charcter is facing then turn around ur menu will glow up if ure facign the right way wher the pokmon is at !
The gym closest to me is a graveyard across from my volunteer group, we stood outside yesterday watching all of the kids in the graveyard go pokemon hunting
Lucky Eggs, should not be used all willy nilly! Save all Lucky eggs until your ready to start evolving Pidgeys, Weedle's, Caterpie's. all 12 candy ea. to evolve, but worth 1000 xp for the first level of evolution. You can gain 4-5 levels if you saved up your candy for a day or two.

Turn the AR off. It helps u catch a lot more Pokemon easier and they don't break out as much. My cousin turned his AR off and he experienced less troubles. But when he turned it on, everything bugged out. I turned my AR off and it's easier to catch Pokemon

Now I say I'm playing Pokemon go, I seem less of a creeper that way.
Polemon Go isn't just a game, but a tactic to help Google to map everything not visible on satellite. It's called spatial geo mapping. This way they can map the insides of buildings, the underside of forest canopies, etc. Then they have a photo of the area as soon as you tag the creature you find. Do you really want various government agencies use you as a human spybot?
It's so much easier without AR mode on. The background is just shaky and makes it so much harder to catch them
