One even said that you should put the eyeshadow on the lips ad then coat it with lip gloss precisely for this reason. Seeing people making a whole bottle of custom lip gloss had me squirming in disgust.
"I don't know if tea tree oil irritates eyes but we'll find out" immediately made me think the tiktoker who made that video was deliberately trolling people because OUCH
I recently tried a primer from ELF that I only found out after applying had tea tree oil in it. My skin was SCREAMING. Not to mention the eye irritation. I don’t know what the formulators were thinking, and they’re professionals…I can’t imagine how much worse that DIY concoction would be. Also I think she was trying to go for some kind of micellar water or oil cleanser thing, which makes me laugh…don’t you need a detergent in there of some kind? It’s just gonna make a mess…
@@dubblebubbletoilandtrouble6646 to be fair, I have managed to make a super effective waterproof eye makeup remover by following an even simpler recipe.... Literally just olive oil, then if you're lucky, a baby wipe for the excess oil. But that was "ah shit I forgot to hit the pharmacy and now it's 2 am I I'm not sleeping in this" makeup remover, and it sure as hell didn't involve putting teatree oil in my eyes!
I don’t mind giving questionable advice to the UA-cam algorithm, but for humans with actual earlobes… don’t go to Claire’s to get your ears pierced if you’ve got access to a piercing/tattoo parlor. The machines they use cause a lot more trauma to the earlobe than is really necessary, and they’re not always properly sanitized. I got mine pierced at Claire’s and it turned out fine, but if I could go back I’d rather trust a professional than a part-timer with rudimentary training
I got my ears pierced at Claire’s and they got infected, I just let them close up eventually. Got them pierced again at a sketchy tattoo parlour and they turned out fine lol

pressurized injection actually causes more tissue damage than needles which means higher likelihood of scar tissue forming, more swelling, more bruising. But a lot of people (including myself) have a fear of needles so a needle-less option seems less scary/ more beginner friendly when in reality its the opposite.
@@highestqualitypigironooh thanks for the info . I also had a pretty big fear of needles, but I just try to close my eyes during my entire Botox migraine procedure and hang tough . Pressure is air injection sounds Hella painful.

LMAO the vitamin C serum. Whatever didn't get destroyed in the boiling step gets oxidized and gone just by bure exposure to air/sunlight. there i a reason why beauty products with vitamin C come in opaque/solid non-transparent bottles.
I love following HowToCookThat on here, Ann Reardon has done a ton of social media food and craft debunking videos, and she breaks down why, scientifically, the recipe just could not work the way the video claims it does. She also makes sure to try each recipe (unless it's so bonkers it's a health hazard) and shows off how the original uploader probably faked their results by showing evidence of jump cuts or even what they had to do to get their final product. After watching a bunch of her videos, it's been way easier to spot insta/tiktok recipes that are likely fake/edited so I don't waste my time and ingredients on trying them!
The problem with that hyaluronic pen is that it's not precise. It just shots the product deep into skin, much deeper and stronger than injection. And there lies the danger. You could clog the blood vessel or at best, make yourself look lumpy.
I love how Edwin is the antithesis of that loud TickTocker with the orange juice spray. It is so much more comfortable here on this channel. And on this platform. 😌
The Vitamin C "serum" part made me cackle 'cause oh lawd. It is notoriously difficult to find effective Vitamin C fr and even then it needs to be used super quickly lest it lose it's efficacy. I don't include Vit C in my routine for this reason lol. I hate the whole notion of skincare from the kitchen so much, so that bit hit different. I'm chill with making your own exfoliant from sugar or coffee grounds, but HATE slapping on whatever potion because it so icky feeling. I'll take my chemicals in skin care thanks.
@@alicegaiba if on the face, definitely! I'll also add walnut to that. I didn't specify but I meant sugar and coffee exfoliant on the body... and those work just fine iirc. thank you so much for censoring the lip filler gun thing, i have such a fear of procedures and stuff and seeing things like that out of nowhere on tiktok makes me freak out

0:04 Truest statement I’ve ever heard 😂 I was just at IVE in Atlanta last night and when the music got turned up signaling for the show to begin I got jump scared 😅
i heard air and injecting. the horror. I used to work with hydraulic fluid (not the same as hyaluronic acid, in fact two very different things) but you learn just how bad it is to have anything injected into you in the wrong place. the injecting into a blood vessel would be horrible and the worst part is it will just feel like a little bee sting so you wont know how bad the damage is until it's too late.
11:38 can we also talk about how there is no emulsifier? oil and water don't mix so why add water which introduces moisture for bacteria to thrive in?? Oil by itself is fine for removing makeup, but they need an emulsifier so it actually washes off the face when introducing water (they make oil-based cleansers that remove makeup and have an emulsifier for that reason)
Aloe is genuinely one of the only natural beauty things that I find actually works. Most other things are just for fun for me. Idk why I always forget I have an aloe plant. I swear if I remembered it more often my skin would be a different beast. I've been doing a daily aloe mask since friday and every day I can see a significant difference in my dry skin
My skincare consists of coconut oil as makeup remover (I have dry skin and don’t have any breakouts from it) it works better than any cleansing balm I’ve ever tried. And a gentle foaming cleanser and. Moisturizer with spf. If you’re using anything more than this you’re stripping your skin and exposing it to extra chemicals You don’t need.
I went to a baby shower once and the favors were homemade “natural” spa products that the hosts had made. When I went to use it, it was already full of mold. Noped right out of that trend and never looked back 🤢😂😂😂
11:40 at this point, she’s rubbing the content of a lavalamp on her face. That tetryoil adds that burning feeling in the eyes. But at least her eyeliner residue is removed
afaik about filler, doctors also know how to get rid of it immediately if smth goes wrong during the procedure. people at home can't do that either so yeah, I've seen a ton of horror stories about that at home product basically.
I thank you for blurring the wounds or just the fallen lip pic.. bc idk it would give me nightmares to know how a black and fallen off lip would look like on a human
I use the tea tree oil face wipes and straight tea tree oil in my hair mix (all stable oils, and used immediately), and the labels both say “Avoid contact with eyes” for a reason…. That shit burns.
Tiktok makes me mad 😂 diy lip fillers have existed for some time (there are some youtube videos from 2+ years ago), but tiktok has turned a lot of these "things you shouldnt do" more viral so even more people are in risk of hurting themselves. Makes me mad haha.

A UA-camr I once liked shifted gears a few years ago and was trying to live a simple and minimalist life where she lived off of the land. I have no issue with that. I did have an issue with her making homemade skincare and haircare goop and never mentioning any warnings about the risks. At that point I had become a licensed esthetician and my friend was a licensed aesthetician (yes, there's a difference), and we both politely brought up the risks. Our comments got deleted. Other viewers started saying that they tried her recipes and ended up with allergic reactions and burns, and some commented on the rapid mold growth, and they were ignored. She now has two young children, and I really hope she isn't using her DIY concoctions on them.
I feel this way about soooo many at home beauty products!! High frequency wands, DERMA ROLLING??, lash lifts??? Like best case scenario you just ness it up and it doesn't work, but worst case scenario is you brutally injur yourself!! Cosmetology licenses exist for a reason, we do a ton of training and continued education to do stuff like this
I make two diy beauty products for myself. The first is hair gel from flax seeds. It only has a 4 day shelf life, so I keep it in 2 oz squirt bottles in the freezer and defrost in the fridge. It has to stay in the fridge when not in use. It's the best hair gel I've ever used and doesn't build up and make my roots greasy like other gels do or weigh my curls down. The second is a whipped tallow for my body and face. It absorbs into my skin quickly and leaves it feeling soft. It doesnt smell pretty though, because I will not use e.o. on my skin. I will go buy anything else I think i need which isn't much. All rhis ither stuff is scary.
OMG that girl was already GORGEOUS and had huge and PERFECT lips! She didn’t need that fake filler at all!! This is insane!!! Are people just getting lip filler just to be a part of the trend and not because their lips are small??! Her lips are now too big for her face, and her face now looks cartoonish and disproportionate.
The orange peel contains limonene, an oil that will irritate the skin. This is a common ingredient in cleaners and other products that strip oils (like paint thinner) by breaking the bonds between oil and water.🍊
The other day I saw a TT from a lady suggesting you keep avocados in water in the fridge to keep them fresh longer. Many people, a microbiologist included, told her it wasn't safe because it can cause bacteria like Listeria to seep through the skin into the fruit. Instead of acknowledging the risk, she responded by posting a video of her pouring a glass of raw milk. 🙃
As s.o. who was made fun of my big lips when I was in school it's hilarious to me that those bullies are ruining their face to try to achieve the same look now 😂
If you aren't allergic - coconut oil is a great way to remove eye make up. It's very gentle on sensitive skin, it's very versatile for the home and it has a lengthy shelf life. As long as you follow up with a soap based cleanser, it wont leave you super oily. I'll grab a small glass jar of organic virgin coconut oil and use it for baking, makeup removal, hair mask or put some in the bath as a moisturizer
I hate the "well i did it and I'm fine" argument... like i peirced my own ears. Did a bunch of research on what coud go wrong and how professionals did it. I bought some of those hollow needles and cheap peircings and went to town. No infections or anything. HOWEVER, when my cousin asked me to do hers too like a year and a half later, i adamantly refused. I said "i did it but barely the right way. I don't feel comfortable doing it again. I should've went to a professional so you should too." No way i was risking it lol
great video! cant finish it bc just the idea of those lip fillers pens is too much for my squeamish brain, so here's a comment to make up for not getting through it haha
The flax seed concoction is actually a good hair mask and hair gel for curly/wavy hair! It's not *as* good as the commercial gels like ouidad/ntm's/eco obviously but it works pretty well and is inexpensive! Just make small batches so it doesn't grow mold/bacteria.
I'm a doctor in Europe, with two specialities: the first and main one, emergencies and catastrophes, and the second one, plastic, aesthetics and anti-ageing. Without getting into too much technicalities and legislations (which may vary depending where you live), plastic work done by a doctor is expensive for several reasons: first, usually materials are top class that can only be bought by doctors with a certificate in plastics, and they are most definitely not cheap (one syringe of a good quality hialuronic acid costs around 150€) Second, doctors need to buy the material and equipment in case things go wrong during the procedure and they need to revert the damage - cases of people who have gone blind because of a poorly done lip filler exist, for example. Third, it's an investment on our part. Sure, a client may pay 400 euros for a lip filler, but first I paid 10.000€ to learn how to do face fillers, and I still need to pay thousands more to keep up-to-date with new and better materials and techniques. So clients are also paying for just how much experience and knowledge the doctor has. A cool peel with CO2 laser may cost around 200-300€, but the machine costs between 40.000 to 80.000€ (plus maintenance). Honestly, for me plastics and aesthetics is therapeutic, because I'm dealing with healthy people who want to feel better with themselves - stark contrast with the brutal cases I see in emergencies. And I'm all for people who want to feel better with themselves, but here's a piece of advice: first, check the credentials of the person who is going to do your procedure, and check the materials used, otherwise you may end up as one of my patients in emergency, and I may not be able to help if the damage is beyond medical control.
The crazy part about the last video is that you can just use coconut oil as a natural makeup remover; she didn’t even need to make a monstrous concoction 😭😭😭

Well at least is not a open wound. I no longer fear neddles. But an open wound yeah i get it.

Oh, the eyeshadow+gloss thing I "learned" from cosplayers back in 2013, they said you should make a VERY SMALL AMOUNT (preferably for A SINGLE USE amount) of "custom lip gloss". One even said that you should put the eyeshadow on the lips ad then coat it with lip gloss precisely for this reason. Seeing people making a whole bottle of custom lip gloss had me squirming in disgust.
The hyaluronic acid pen thing is so scary, like it has caused a ton of problems in people, this technology was meant fot insulin, not hyaluronic acid
The tea tree oil in the diy make up remover made me gasp.. this is insane 😨
"I don't know if tea tree oil irritates eyes but we'll find out" immediately made me think the tiktoker who made that video was deliberately trolling people because OUCH
@@MoragOctober I really hope so for her! And I hope people do research instead of blindly try things they see on the internet 😭
Exactly
I’m still struggling with a Claire’s piercing I got in 2009 😂
Thank you for saying this.
I got my first at claire's, then did the other 2 sets myself in the bathroom mirror with an ice cube lol
I went to a professional when I was getting my conch done and he said to one my double helix piercing that you can immediately tell this is done by a piercing gun not a needle which yes it was done at Claire’s 🥲
NEVER put tea tree essential oil or any other essential oil near your eyes!

Tea tree oil is one of the most aggressive essential oils out there. It's used to sanitize and disinfect. I'm so scared for the last lady who said she used ON HER EYES!!! AS A MAKEUP REMOVER, SO THERE'S CHANCE IT COULD GO IN HER EYES!!! She must have lost them by now.
No way she did that more than once lmao
Still kept the video up, and I have even more questions about that choice.
The botox pen thing looks scary af 😅 I wouldn't even trust myself with that thing, people are clueless..darwinism at his finest
pressurized injection actually causes more tissue damage than needles which means higher likelihood of scar tissue forming, more swelling, more bruising. But a lot of people (including myself) have a fear of needles so a needle-less option seems less scary/ more beginner friendly when in reality its the opposite.
James welsh made a whole video on the pens
@@highestqualitypigironooh thanks for the info . I also had a pretty big fear of needles, but I just try to close my eyes during my entire Botox migraine procedure and hang tough . Pressure is air injection sounds Hella painful.
@@highestqualitypigiron Fillers are already untested shite that not even the professionals knew stayed in the body for 10+ years or that could clog the lymphatic system until a couple of years ago. Teatree oil should never be applied to skin directly without dilution
It provides a natural red flush with fewer chemicals than TOXIC blush😂
False, most people without sensitivity can apply it directly to skin.
@@NightimeInDeepSpaceeven if it doesn't irritate you need to dilute it, some brads sell the oil in an already diluted form so you might be confusing it with actually intense undiluted tea tree oil
LMAO the vitamin C serum. Whatever didn't get destroyed in the boiling step gets oxidized and gone just by bure exposure to air/sunlight. there i a reason why beauty products with vitamin C come in opaque/solid non-transparent bottles.
Dude, for the mascara remover at the end- just use the oil! Adding water makes it an unstable mold factory 😫
Right? No need to put it in a different container or add anything else. 😂
not to mention, this person thought it was a good idea to add tea tree oil???
or vaseline, works great as well
I use liquid soap and water to wash my mascara stains off, and coconut oil if it's stubborn!
I don't trust internet in general since I've cooked a dish a saw on Instagram. It was so horrible, couldn't eat it and throw it away
What dish was such a sad waste of ingredients? Name and shame so we don't cook the same
I love following HowToCookThat on here, Ann Reardon has done a ton of social media food and craft debunking videos, and she breaks down why, scientifically, the recipe just could not work the way the video claims it does.
Fun fact: boiling orange peels can't make good skincare, but it can make decent acetone iirc
Like enough to remove nail polish?? Hmm 🤔
Distilling the orange peel, to be exact. Yields Limonene, which can melt styrofoam & nail polish similar to acetone.

Even coffee/sugar scrubs are not exactly the best for the skin as they can cause micro abrasions 😅
vit c also makes skin more sensitive to sunlight, its better to just ditch it as topical serums and whatnot
@@alicegaiba if on the face, definitely! I'll also add walnut to that.
I didn't specify but I meant sugar and coffee exfoliant on the body... and those work just fine iirc. That's my limit lol because they're meant to be washed off quickly. I can't sit with anything goopy on my face as it gets uncomfy af fast
The fun part that there is no vitamin C in boiled peel water, because Vitamin C is quickly destroyed when heated (it completely dies at 90-100°C)

There are many ways to get makeup off that don't involve olive and tea tree oil, my sensitive skin and easily clogged pores could never!!
Olive oil for removing makeup is fine, but you gotta follow it up with a regular face wash too 😭
thank you so much for censoring the lip filler gun thing, i have such a fear of procedures and stuff and seeing things like that out of nowhere on tiktok makes me freak out
The one beauty diy I actually have done is to make reusable makeup wipes, that is, I cut out and hemmed little 2” circles of towel I use to put face wash and makeup remover on.
I have little flannel/terrycloth squares that I bought from Etsy like this. It's how I prefer to wash my face now
You just need to be careful that everything is sanitized, cause it could totally grow bacteria if it wasn't sanitized

0:04 Truest statement I’ve ever heard 😂 I was just at IVE in Atlanta last night and when the music got turned up signaling for the show to begin I got jump scared 😅
OMG WHAT I WAS AT THAT CONCERT TOO
i heard air and injecting.
"Try not to be dumb"
you're really asking a lot
My skincare consists of coconut oil as makeup remover (I have dry skin and don’t have any breakouts from it) it works better than any cleansing balm I’ve ever tried. And a gentle foaming cleanser and. Moisturizer with spf. If you’re using anything more than this you’re stripping your skin and exposing it to extra chemicals You don’t need.
@11:34 and all that oil will completely disintegrate the rubber stopper on that bottle.
I have followed Brad Mondo videos for my hair. But let’s be honest, hair grows back. I would never give myself an injection of filler.
I went to a baby shower once and the favors were homemade “natural” spa products that the hosts had made. When I went to use it, it was already full of mold. Noped right out of that trend and never looked back 🤢😂😂😂

afaik about filler, doctors also know how to get rid of it immediately if smth goes wrong during the procedure. people at home can't do that either so yeah, I've seen a ton of horror stories about that at home product basically.

Your videos are very comforting to me thank you so much for making them

I feel this way about soooo many at home beauty products!! High frequency wands, DERMA ROLLING??, lash lifts??? Like best case scenario you just ness it up and it doesn't work, but worst case scenario is you brutally injur yourself!!
"Did you know..." SKIIIIIIIP NEXT PLEASE
The other day I saw a TT from a lady suggesting you keep avocados in water in the fridge to keep them fresh longer. Many people, a microbiologist included, told her it wasn't safe because it can cause bacteria like Listeria to seep through the skin into the fruit. Instead of acknowledging the risk, she responded by posting a video of her pouring a glass of raw milk. 🙃
As s.o. who was made fun of my big lips when I was in school it's hilarious to me that those bullies are ruining their face to try to achieve the same look now 😂
Remember, people: confidence does not equal competence. CONFIDENCE DOES NOT EQUAL COMPETENCE.
9:52 Vitamin C is one of the few vitamins that actually degrades rapidly when heated.
Hmmm 5:13 what kind of duck is that
great video! cant finish it bc just the idea of those lip fillers pens is too much for my squeamish brain, so here's a comment to make up for not getting through it haha
Without getting into too much technicalities and legislations (which may vary depending where you live), plastic work done by a doctor is expensive for several reasons: first, usually materials are top class that can only be bought by doctors with a certificate in plastics, and they are most definitely not cheap (one syringe of a good quality hialuronic acid costs around 150€)
Second, doctors need to buy the material and equipment in case things go wrong during the procedure and they need to revert the damage - cases of people who have gone blind because of a poorly done lip filler exist, for example.
1:29 please don’t put cinnamon on your skin, especially your face!!

Honestly I don't recommend Claire's or Icing for piercings, when I got my seconds done the person put them in really crooked and close to the edge of my earlobe on the right one 😣
Piercing studios > Claires > DIY
Any place that uses those guns to make piercings are bad. The staff are untrained and the guns are unhygienic. A real piercer will do a better job.
