Genuinely the funniest review to any album I’ve ever seen. As an autistic person, the end of The Ol’ Diamondback Sturgeon being referred to as “the autism solo” was one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. It literally would’ve only worked with Primus too ngl, if someone just randomly said that while talking about a SOAD song or something super normal than it would kinda feel like just a random comment that’s trying too hard to be funny. “Autism solo” perfectly describes the essence of Primus LMAOO. Also I love the imitation of Lers playing, very spot on and accurate
Another guitar player that I like listening too collaborated with Les Claypool which is Buckethead that’s another musician that’s know for being weird but he’s a excellent guitar player
Just bought the cd always wanted it as a kid but never saw it in stores. I first discovered them on Beavis and butthead where my name is mud was playing. One of my favorite bands and can't wait to listen to the whole album.
Damn I saw the thumbnail when you originally posted the vid and got excited cus I love primus but stuff came up so didn’t have time to watch. I gota say I’m not disappointed this review was very primus indeed. Btw the pressman was originally from their first release which was a live album but the song didn’t make it to an album till pork soda so that’s probably y it’s not as weird as the other songs on the album. Also saw them last month on their farewell to kings tour and people moshed during rush songs and idk how I feel about that but was an amazing concert
i tried to force myself to like Primus in the early / mid 90s because they were outspoken Rush fans and the obvious talent on bass and drums. Not so much guitar, that mostly sounds like the cat orgy scene from the South Park Cartman babysitting episode. I gave it a fair hearing with multiple listenings especially to Frizzle Fry and Sailing the Seas, I just never liked it enough to continue.
Ler Lalonde style can be unsettling, but it's so addictive when you have the luck to really get his peculiar vibe. Nonetheless, I also admit he might be too far gone for a lot of people.
Well... check out Magma - de Futura, if you wanna add another scale to your weird-o-meter. And beware about being abducted by Kobaian aliens. After this, you'll consider "Hamburger Train" as a nice little choochoo ride around the park.
