I enjoy your vids, my wife and I bought our ID4 almost a week ago and it’s a fully loaded trim and all that, only down sides to it are no 360 camera view and AC seats. Aside from that it’s a great car so far and I ALSO love the wireless apple car play that starts up in a snap when you enter the car. Gets you out of the actual VW software where they have always been weak in for years. But I’ll keep you updated. Keep it up bud!
Version 4 software is likely one of the best updates to any EV according to Kyle at Out of Speck reviews and even Bjorn Nyland also raved about it and now VW is going to go NACS, so that should end the issues of those poor EA stations.
Currently only getting 230 miles on a full charge although the seller stated we would get 275 grr Typically charge to 70-80% and see around 175 miles. It’s a big big bummer
Nice video but you should really do a disclaimer on the year of the car you're talking cons about, given that software is one of the cons and that can change really fast with upgrades
It just seemed great in price when I bought it. $49k out the door price, then $2000 state credit and $7500 tax credit, and 3 years free charging. So far, I racked 75,000 miles within 2 years, saving over $15,000 on gas or $7,500 on electricity. Although it's great value, I will sell it after 3 years of free charging end. Its technology is slow and laggy.
Just picked my 23 AWD Pro S (on a lease) up and took it on a 1800 mi trip from Fl to SD and it did great. I was shocked at the charger availability north of I-70 and I-29.
If a car is good or bad, you cannot say after 2 years. If you keep it for 20 years then you can make a statement. So the owners of Golf Mk4 could start to make reviews.
I just test drive the id4 s. It was boring looking inside compared to my kia sportage but I did like the way it drove and the fact I wouldn't have to buy gas anymore. I dudnt think it was worth paying $46k before taxes (with the $7500 rebate) for a car that only got 209 mile range
I have a new 2023 ID.4 Pro S AWD. VW managment should test Subaru's adaptive cruise control... and then fix VW's. It is horrible. When the vehicle ahead that is it following slows down and stops, the ID4 runs right up close to it and then suddenly slams on the brake hard... nothing smooth about it at all. And the horn is so weak... more sutable for a wheel chair than a car one might use on the free way. If I had tested the horn before I bought the car, I probably would not have bought it. Same with the adaptive cruise control. My mistake for assuming all adaptive cruis controls would be as good as my past 2016, 2018, 2022 Subarus.
I test drove the old software and it kept me from buying the ID4. Slow and awful. Well, VW is already showing a completely new software system that obviously has new hardware running it as well. It looks like it's night and day. They got rid of the main screen too. The sliders light up now LOL. They got rid of that stupid shift knob as well. Changed the motors so they added 86hp to the RWD and the AWD has 32 more hp with a boatload of extra torque. I think you should go check out the 2024 model once you get a chance. I'm going to.
To me: The pros: good external design, high quality material inside, and very smooth ride. The cons: lack of many options as if it's a classic fuel-based car.
I read a very recent review of the 2023 ID.4 and they had almost all of the same complaints you documented in your numerous videos about the problems you had with your own ID.4, mainly software. Apparently it has not gotten much (if any) better. And charging is still pretty slow, apparently.
Enjoy your vids.. very informative as well as entertaining. I'll be moving to your part of the globe, north eastern part (Udon Thani) Im considering shipping my 23 Kia Niro Wave, which I love. But I'm not sure of the charging Infrastructures in that country. What are your thoughts? I wouldn't want to go back to ICE vehicles if at all possible. Thanks, and don't stop your videos.
A friend of mine has the ID4 with a 52kw battery, no heat pump. It is absolutely appalling! Lucky if he scrapes 100 miles in cold weather. Large car, small battery, no heat pump! £44,000 😂
Electrif America features is useless in North Central texas as there are only three (3) locations in a 250 square mile arwa around fort worth texas. Useless if charge locations do not exist...might be great in California but who wants to live there?
I've an ID4 -> 1 week old and every day all warning lights go on and the dealer cannot help me... Its a company car but shit still a waste of time! Shitty German quality
Well then if you don't see any then I guess that's what the reality is for the rest of us. Next time you look at the sky and don't see the moon let us all know that the moon is fake too.

Why would you buy this car with the broken software issues. Just buy a Tesla and you won't regret it. You will get stranded in that car with the broken no charge American chargers.
I wish the U.S. didn’t cling so much to the fallacy of battery powered vehicles. I wish VW was still selling diesel cars in the U.S. as they actually are good for the environment. Pre-DEF and DPF only. Before I get flamed, tell me how a vehicle that gets in the 50’s for MPG and lasts close to a million miles is worse than strip mining minerals (in foreign countries) and a battery that lasts 4 years or so and costs another $30K plus to replace? You can’t. And don’t bother calling me names and making me the bad guy. Want proof? Let’s mine the minerals here in the USA. I bet y’all would block that!
You forgot to add all the Diesel fuel needed to mine and transport to processing facilities. Then the Diesel fuel to bring it to your local STEALER. BUT, a 1.9 L Diesel engine will kill us all. Makes sense doesn't it?

ID.4 has a very short front end so passengers get more room, much better!
