Best custom dash ever I was wanting to do this to my 1979 Datsun 280zx but was scared to cut it up but now I got to to cuz that screen is just amazing! Well done man
I am a 69 Camaro purist. I'm not a big fan of retro but the job you did does look pretty good for modifying it. It's your car and you do what you like.
Since everyone is chiming in with things they don't like... let me just say, if I were going to build another '69, this is very similar to the route I'd go. Love everything about resto-mod.. really is the best of both worlds IMO. I've had the itch to do a '68 with the LT5 but time is a rare commodity these days... Instrument panel looks great and the areas with most of the defects are almost invisible once the dash cap is back in place. 🤜 BTW, I finished up an SLC a couple of years ago with one of the AiM dash units... much more compact than Holley's with lots of cool bells and whistles for logging, customization etc.. And after much debate over traditional guages, no regrets in going that route.
Wicked crazy fabrication skills. What vision you have Chris! I really had been looking been looking forward to more gruesome detail about swapping the a/c compressors. Oh well, I understand about time and getting on with it. Vintage A/C systems are so intriguing to me. I can't get enough about them. Thanks for taking us along with you. I love your stuff. When I am at work during the day, what I have been looking forward to these last couple of weeks is coming home and watching a video or two of your projects. Thanks man!
You knocked it out the box,Im not a Camaro guy but the work you do is all that,I definitely like that CTS project you did it was very cool it inspired me to clean mind up a little more, keep the videos coming, you really do great work!!!👍
HELL YEAH! Ive been waiting for this since before the red Z06. Absolute killer job Chris, and we really appreciate you taking the time to not only do this, but do it so you end up with a professional finished product and then taking the time to show us along the way. I never knew that about the acetone and plastic, thanks for that! Killer job man
Looks Awesome! I just installed the same dash in a customer's 97 Silverado they are wicked. Luckily he had purchased a 3D-printed bezel that pretty much bolted right in. The Camaro looks killer man, keep up the good work! Cheers🍺
SEM brand Trim Black will give you the correct “semigloss” look. Spray one coat of adhesion promoter before the black. This will help the paint stick without fisheyes and defects. You can get it at an automotive paint supply store. I’ve been using the trim black for years, works great and has just the right amount of sheen.
Honestly, I was a little concerned about how that was going to come out, but it looks awesome!! Great job, love this and all of your content! Keep up the great work!
I just think the holy efi is laggy old looking technology looks out of 2008 I like old school gauges in old cars! But you did a good job on the install !!
I'm sure your opinion helps him out. Guy pays over 2 grand for that and you leave a comment saying it looks like shit, oh, but great job putting it in...
You deserve Stradman views and sub numbers. Unlike him, you build all your cars yourself and they turn out excellent! Very informative and entertaining videos.
Yah seriously! I guess ppl just want illegal street racing and expensive supercars no one can afford or work on. This guy has more talent than any other car channel!
That's a rock solid deal you put together there. I'm going to put one of these dashes in my 240 Volvo when I do my engine swap looking forward to that.😊
Looks good chris, you should have your painter buddy hit that dash with car paint, Way more easy to hit a good matte that matches and holds up better to abuse......Again Good job and another great video.......
my dad has 2 69 camaros and I have to say you have talent man... awsome video. My dad put a 327 In his 1969 convertible camaro, Maybe we can do an ls swap one day lol! Keep up the great work man!
The Christmas tree lot guys we're correct! You are crazy for tying that tree on top of that car. But when you are a talented as you are I guess you can take care of the small scratches. I would have rather had it tied to my back and walked at home LOL
Another great video Chris. You are very talented at what you do, wish I had the patience and the tools to do what you do. Keep the content coming. Thanks
Looks great like we knew it would. Love the 69,just not crazy about the front spoiler. Would love to see a 2000-02 trans am ,manual ion the channel sometime..
The cluster surround looks awesome, the paint issues are somewhat typical with the hardware store paints. From a plastic modeler perspective, on these smaller plastic projects at least, you might consider using a modeling paint? Just a thought.
One of my favorite things is taking old cars and adding new high tech stuff into them. This is right up my ally. However the $2200 bucks for Holly's, at least for ME, is a lot to swallow. I plan on making my own, been researching it for a long time. If the vehicle is ODB2 you can buy the LCD and use free software to customize it how you like. I'll be putting it on my channel this summer when I get going on it. I did not know about the acetone paste/glue. What a fantastic tip, thanks man. It came out beautiful. Looking forward to seeing it completed. Have you thought about wiring the power to the holly on a difference circuit from ignition? I think it would annoy me waiting for it to power up at initial start vs turn key to on, let it boot then start the car without the holly rebooting.
Nice work Chris, I like the acitone tip ima try that next time I work with plastic. Just a thought, depending on how bright the Holley display is, what If you took a piece of plexi and lightly spray tinted It like you did the red Z06 marker lights. And placed it in front of the display so it’s black until you fire it up that would really clean it up. just a thought I had driving to work this morning thinking. Love the channel keep up the great vids..
I'm still out for debate with myself whether I like the full digital display or not. Please don't get me wrong you did a beautiful job but I'm leaning more for the Dakota dash. I have a 78 Z28 I would love to put the Dakota dash in but at a $1595 price tag .... hmmm. You're making me miss my 69 Camaro I had in High School.
Man it takes talent to do what you did with that original dash. Well done!
As always I'm truly amazed with techniques to solve your problems
I admire your attention to detail .
Best custom dash ever I was wanting to do this to my 1979 Datsun 280zx but was scared to cut it up but now I got to to cuz that screen is just amazing! Well done man
Wow! Very nice work. I'm impressed.
Dude that looks freaking awesome!!! Great work!!
love it man - I saw that first cut and thought you are so screwed - but u totally pulled it off - congrats, looks great!
I know it felt amazing dropping that dash pad on, sitting back and looking at it

Love it. Holley equipment rocks.
Amazing turned out stellar , you are talented keep up the great videos this was a home run
It's a good day when Chris uploads. Thanks for everything you do.
Wow looks great ! Get a can of adhesion promoter and scotch brite the whole thing and that paint will stick a lot better
Great job! Dash is clean and Holley efi looks great!
I just think the holy efi is laggy old looking technology looks out of 2008 I like old school gauges in old cars! But you did a good job on the install !!

One of your longest videos but as always enjoyable. Keep up the great work Chris.
Dude, I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep it up.
You did that on that dash man if I had your mechanical skills it would be no stopping me 😅
Sor..what an awesome job! I love your content. Keep inspiring us with your talent and hardwork! I thought there was a little mad scientist in you.😂
You should try some SEM brand color coat. It works great on plastic trim pieces and lays great. The colors are very close to factory GM colors also
I don't even know what I'm doing... I'm just going to try to fit THAT... in THERE...
Said every guy EVER!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

@Chis Sullivan , Absolutely Love, the "Solitary Doggidness" of you young man ! 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾

Great job!!!!
Look into SEM trim black paint. Normally lays down really well and gets that satin look you’re after. It’s also in a spray can.
Absolutely incredible 👍🏻
