  • Finally the finished paddle wheel to go into a stream to generate max of 600 watts at 24 vdc. This is for an off the grid setup that also has wind and solar.
    The permanent magnet generator 600 watt was purchased at Wild Nature Solutions.

    Hello Rev.! Some tips that may help your friends with energy matters; A) Lowes, (and Home Depot) sell some 12 volt-2 1/2 watt LED bulbs that give off light like a 50 watt-110 volt home like bulb. If someone wishes to take these low wattage bulbs to missions abroad, you can fit about 20 0f them in to a pair of shoes in your luggage. B) A battery "Desulfator" will send electric "jabs" to your deep cycle battery, allowing a one year battery to last a lot longer, ( I have have a few that have "2009" stickers on them). C) If making a mini-Hydro Turbine, or Wind Turbine Generator, you will need a one-way power "diode", or isolator. The power will go to the battery, and will not backfeed, draining the battery. I have been blessed with this power "hobby", and have turned it into a mini-ministry, called H.U.G.E., (Humanity Utilizing God`s Energy). If I can be of help to you in any way, look me up. May God richly bless you! (B.T.W.) small solar panels are being used in places like Kenya, and Uganda to power tablets for preachers "in the feild". It`s awesome! (HE is awesome)!!!

    I agree, I tried a v belt just as you suggested, its in another video. but in order to prevent slippage the tension was so high it wouldn't turn. then it had to do with how much I can put into this project. this is just a 600 watt generator. placed into the right place.
    best to you,
    john

      thanks, it's been updated since to a 1500 watt pma, more torque. just wish I could get it into the stream.

      Rev John O'Toole
      I looked at a system that utilizes a funnel style director, but the detritus that gets moving down my river during a storm would pretty much destroy anything I put in, and I don't have enough drop to install a turbine.

      Yea, I saw that John, thats weird. Not many people made it through that transition unscathed. ;-) I held off for quite a while on the google thing, mostly on principle, I thought it was pretty heavy handed. But eventually I caved, as my research on transitioning to vimeo ended pretty quickly, thats a really sloppy setup over there. Kind of an out of the pan, and into the fire deal.

    Yes i know its hard sometimes to explain to us out there becouse we did not build it and dont know all the problems within the design.you can experiment in the water but
    i think a bigger wheel on the paddle side will increase power output tenfold.Look forward
    to seeing it turning what ever the output.Thanks Ian

    Looking good John,cant wait to see it in the water.My question is the ratio on the belt/pully you not going to get the rpm to generate any usible power.However if you
    got a much larger belt and went round the big wheel Wow you would have 20 to1 and you would have the torque to do so ie the moving water.

    hello Rev, loved it so much, so it would be floating on the stream or..?
    would you share the design or its a kinda of right protection?

    • @thefaeryman
      @thefaeryman  9 років тому

      I have since updated it to new design for power drive check these videos on this channel, google has block me from getting to my other channel. if you had to float it keep from sinking in a deep stream than you should. I suggest using the mwands freedom pmg. you may consider building out of steel maybe if you can weld. the paddles are a blue 55 gallon plastic barrel.

      More question Rev, what is the feasibility of extracting water for irrigation from a stream and stocking it to night time as some corps need to be irrigated at night, the use a similar pedal wheel on the water passage from the reservoir to the field? Not necessarily large one maybe a smaller that could produce 1/4 of the current?

    • @thefaeryman
      @thefaeryman  9 років тому

      Muhanad Fakhri there is something called I think a ram pump, where you put a spiral of plastic pipe in opposite rotation where it scoops the water and pushes it to your location, there are some videos out there about this. otherwise you could power a pump among other things and pump water into a cistern of such

    • @MuhanadFakhri2009
      @MuhanadFakhri2009 9 років тому

      Oh thx Rev. I loved the Ram pump concept however the river level is even lower than the farm land. I forget to say to extract water from the stream using a surface solar pump to a reservoir on a height, then use the stocked water at the reservoir at night for irrigation and put a pedal on the irrigation stream or passage via the gravity effect

      you could upload a video to your channel and may give some ideas. what if you dam the stream to intensify the power on to the paddle wheel. otherwise a bunch of solar panels on battery back with a good inverter may be the best solution.

    I'd be surprised to see this work with that gear ratio.... most alternators need to spend 800 to a 1000 RPM to start generating at least in a car setting.

      perhaps, but this one is wired for wind power. never got it into a stream. I changed the driving pulley to a 20 inch. it's sitting near stream by my disability is a problem.
      thanks
