    Suggestion: How about "Vertical support risers" for each side of the turn drum? When the river raises, the drum would raise too.
    With (5' - five feet of raise) from (4) 6ft pieces of pipe, (2) anchors one top and one bottom, fear of wash-out is lowered.

    Luiz com relação a ocorrência de "enxurradas", acho que poderia ser utilizada uma plataforma flutuante que acompanharia a elevação do nível do rio e, desde que estivesse bem ancorada nas margens, evitaria o risco de perda da bomba. Parabéns! Belo projeto!

    • @haisergyn
      @haisergyn  8 років тому +1

      Obrigado pela ideia. Eu só tenho medo de algumas enxurradas que são mto fortes mesmo heheh esse ribeirão é bem estreito pela vazão que tem. Ele nasce num conjunto de serras e em alguns temporais a água sobe mto chegando a alagar os pastos e tem uma velocidade incrível

    You tub video The air that is trapped in the pump helps to lift water by displacing water. Water in a vertical column is .44 psi pounds a foot. If half that column is air you can lift twice the hight at same pressure. In pipe bigger than 3/8" air bubbles can pass the water. The pump I made I put a water/air separator. It is a 3" abs pipe with intake from pump at top, a 3/8" hose the travels 150 feet to a 80 foot hight, and a 5/8" hose that rise 55'. In 24 hours it lifts 500 gal. to 55 feet and 700 gals. to 80 feet using 21 psi of pressure. At 25 psi pump stops working and 27 psi it pushed the water back out the intake. Because there is no valves the weight of the water in the loops of the pipe is what the column of water pushes off of. Increase the water being taken in each turn of the pump or increase the amount of loops in the pump you will increase hight the water can be lifted. 1 pound of water (1 pint or .5 liter) 2 feet of lift. It looks like your pump is taking in .5 liter a turn times your loops will give you max that your pump can lift without air in water. The air will displaces some of the water in the pipe making it able to lift it higher. The pump looks very well built and gives you the hight you want. Well done!

    under stand the sudden high water issues there...but what if you made that a bit lighter without using a wooden wire spool, like just make a frame of the water wheel & paddle parts?? I believe a shade bit lighter in the frame (Alum) would also allow you to use two old hot water tanks (stripped down) and holes sealed and use them on both side like a pontoon instead....it would float at the level of water and if properly tied to trees will only go up and down with the water...??

      +Pedacinho do Céu Construção Obrigado! Então essa parte realmente eh a mais difícil. Eu, neste projeto, utilizei uma peça que é utilizada em bombas de combustíveis que são acopladas ao gatilho. O nome dela é união giratória. Pode ser encontrada em lojas que vendem peças para postos. Uma observação: Ontem mesmo coloquei para funcionar uma outra bomba. Observei que quanto maior o diâmetro do eixo central maior será a pressão. Recomendo vc fazer esta bomba com um eixo de no minimo 10cm de diametro e 100 metros de canos 3/4''(50m de cada lado)

      +Josep Smaravilla ¡Hola! En el video he usado una pieza llamada articulación giratoria. Es una pieza difícil de encontrar. Tiene un proyecto en el sitio lurkertech.com/water/pump/tailer/ que enseña a hacerlo. Otra solución que encontré fue a comprar esa pieza que se une a una manguera de la bomba de combustible. Esto es fácil de encontrar en las tiendas que dan asistencia en bombas de combustible.

    You should put a 4-6" pvc pipe check valve on the end that scoops the water... you're losing half of the water that's scooped on every turn... allowing air to get in... the gate would slam shut with the water in it until it's submerged again... could pump twice the water... less gaps...

    Hi Luiz, do you have a figure or a rough guide for the volume of water collected per day/ per hour?

    • @haisergyn
      @haisergyn  9 років тому

      +EdinUNI DESIGN7 Hi! The pump could elevate 300 liters per hour (7,200 liters per day) at a height of 18 meters to 13 rpm (in video). Now at the start of the rainy season, the pump speed increased to 18 rpm and the flow rate increased to about 450 liters per hour. At the end of the rainy season the wheel will turn around 25-30rpm and consequently the flow rate will increase proportionally.

      Qual a vazão do rio? As vezes é necessário que se crie um desnível no rio para que a energia potencial da água se converta em energia cinética. Este ribeirão do vídeo tem uma vazão na seca de 1,5m^3/s. Recentemente aumentei o desnível do rio naquele período e consegui ligar 2 bombas em série.

    Wow - what a beautiful location to test a spiral pump and somewhat similar to ours. Did you do any later adjustments and is the pump currently in use? Must be something similar to our location. 1.1 gallons per minute is a starting point and you seem to be pumping a fair distance up. As I'm sure you realize, there are some easy minor adjustments which should give more pumped water volume.
