Wonderful and extremely useful tutorial. I have a lot of beads and some head pins, I'll get the rest of the material and try my hand at making this charms.
I'm so happy to have found this video. I've just started making keychains and have watched so many trying to make the perfect loop on the pin. Your method is by far the easiest and neatest. Thank you for sharing and saving my poor fingers and wrist from all the wire twisting. 😃
I had been thinking for weeks about trying to make charms... then yesterday I ordered a few jump rings and pliers (flathead though...)... and today I found your wonderful tutorial! Thank you for describing everything thoroughly. tfs :-)
Thanks so much for this video. I love your way so much better. I’m new at this and find others techniques way too difficult. When you showed to bend it over and snip it off, that clinched it for me. You made my life easier! 👍😊
Hi Rachel, I've had tools and other bits 'n' bobs for making charms for ages and have been trying out different ideas but was not completely happy with how they turned out. Thanks to your great tutorial I see how to use the round nose pliers and finger to gently bend the head/eye pins to get that lovely smooth curve that you showed us how to achieve. THANK YOU for your brilliant and clear instructions. warmest best wishes, Susanne
I haven't done any beading yet as I do so many crafts plus I am a potter. Watching you and seeing the beautiful charms you create, I am ready to start now. I am so impressed with your beautiful charms. I am subscribing. Thanks for the videos. Hugs, Sharon
Thank you so much for this video - it is exactly what I needed - to make charms for minis! You demonstrate and explain very clearly - thanks again. Julie
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I have dabbled in bead making but they were alway stiff. I think I will start beading again. With your instructions, I think I might be able to make some to go on mini's. Thanks so much. Sharon C.
@TYJ419 Hi Tracey, Yes, that's right - It makes more sense when you're actually making the charms yourself and can visualise it in reality. There are other ways to get this effect, but this is what I find easiest, and especially good if you're new to jewellry making. Hugs, Rachel
This is awesome! Thanks for a great tutorial -it's just what I needed! I signed up for a charms swap and I had no idea what I got myself into! Now I'm not so intimidated anymore! Thanks so much!
Great Tutorial! I just started making my own charms and believe me, I was doing them all wrong!!! Thanks to you, I don't have to suffer any longer! TFS
Hi Rach, thanks so much for this tutorial what a big help to me, I am in a charm swap for the first time and have been struggling. You made my day!!! Love your videos. Pam
@Tracymarie100 Hi Tracey, the jump rings I am using, and most regularly use are 6mm, though I also keep a supply of 8mm when larger ones are needed. I rarely use any smaller than 6mm as they are very fiddly to work with, and there is not enough space in the rings to attach other things to. Hope that helps, Rachel
Hi Rach This video was very timely indeed! I actually just found it via my UA-cam home page showing all activity and RoseS915 had favourited it. Luck! I was going insane trying to find an actual tutorial on products used, sizes, tools and how to! Thanks so much for sharing with us :) Take care Jen
Thanks Rachel. I have just finished a journal, & I want to make a couple of dangles pieces for it, but wasn't sure how to go about it, so now I need to head over to the city & get the jump rings & the loop pins as I have head pins, but have never been sure how to use then,
THANK U SO SO MUCH Rachel!!! This was EXtREMELY helpful and I'm going to head out and purchase some of the supplies..your tutorial was so thorough and I am so grateful to you!!! Thank u once again for making such a prompt video and fulfilling my request! Many Hugs Eve

Thanks for this video. It's great......! You did a superb job explaining. I just went to JoAnn's which is in the US and was guessing as to what I needed. I got everything except for the space beads (bummer). I plan to use for a mini album I'm going to make. Tracey J.
Hi Dawn, The heart shaped beads were from ebay (uk) a few years ago. They are lampwork beads - I'm sure you'll find something similar if you search for lamp work beads. Glad you have been inspired It's quite addictive once you get going and there are all sorts of variations you can make for more complicated charms for handbags, mobile phones, bookmarks etc - make great gifts too! Have fun :-) Best Wishes, Rachel
OMG! OMG! This is the most GORGEOUS charm I have ever seen!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! I am "favoriting" this video & I am going to watch all over again. Wowzer, I love that heart charm like crazy!!! Thankyou so much for sharing this beauty with us... I am going to look for that gorgeous heart at Michael's, which is a large, chain craft store. Lovely work dear... Gale The Happy Stamper :)
The heart bead is an example of Lamp Work. There are many different styles f Lamp Work beads, but due to the lengthy process of making them, they are often quite expensive - But I just had to have them :-) lol
