I got rid of an old beat up 6MT to get a new 9G V6 EX-L 6AT. I’m running FBO, with the upgraded fuel system for an ethanol blend tune. I have gutted stock headers, along with a Tsudo j-pipe, and it’s making great power on the stock catback, with just a muffler delete. I don’t drive this AT as hard as I did with the same exact MT setup, but it’s nice NA power gains. The gutted pre-cats give way more power than the plenum spacer, intake manifold spacer, or ported intake runners.
How much power yu making ? I currently got a 9th gen 4 cyl but I’m trying to decide whether I should get the ‘17 touring sedan 6AT or the new 10th gen accords any suggestions?
I have the 2015, our transmission is a dissappointment. I can't believe they use the same transmission on the 4 cylinder on the v6, being cheap/ taking short cuts never works out for cars.
Honda Accords are very underrated fun cars especially the coupe one with a turbo! 🤘 It’s much more reliable than BMW’s or Mercedes, doesn’t deprecate as much.

@@dominicpaez7601 Honda/Acura automatics aren’t as reliable as manuals; it’s just the engineering and driving conditions of the cars. The late 90’s and early 00’s Honda and Acura V6’s with automatics, were plagued with issues. Up until like after 2015-2017+, Acura had their in house dual clutch auto’s and Honda had 10-spd auto’s, which were both much much more reliable/solid. Some V6 models/cars used a ZF 9-spd, which had some trans issues as well. All in all, the manuals have issues, but mainly through hard driving and lack of maintenance. People usually end up wearing out 1st through 4th since those are most often used gears when driving hard. Rarely will Honda’s and Acura’s have defects out the factory, but sometimes it happens; very different from defective engineering, which leads to inevitable failure, just depends when issues start occurring….
I have the 2016 Honda accord v6 touring coupe at the moment all I have is a cold air intake and I’m not sure what my next mod should be I’m looking into a ktuner but not sure it will be worth it because I only have an intake
Very nice car!Congrats! Question: I have a 2017 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Manual. Does the Touring headlamps will fit my car? Do you have to do lots of mods to fit them in your car? THanks for the great video!
How did you get the hondata working? I thought the said they wouldn’t be doing any development for j series. I wanted to use them for my 8th gen 6/6 coupe.
Are you contemplating doing internal engine modifications? I bought a brand new set of OEM Honda cams for my 8th gen V6 Accord coupe, I was going to send them to Halferland Performance to be cut/modded to be a little more aggressive than stock, probably also upgrading my valve springs... but I just got cold feet after not feeling like I could trust somebody to install them correctly and then space & time everything back to how its supposed to be without any mistakes that would cost me my engine. I've got like 8-10 grand invested in other parts for this car to get it back to showroom condition & just dont want to throw all of it away because my engine took a shit. I know if I dont touch the engine it wont give me a single problem for the next 15 years but I wish I could find someone who I could trust to do cams right. Doesnt seem like Vegas is the area. Do you think its worth it to touch the internals on these j-series engines (for a daily driver car) ?
