Find someone who loves you the way Brett loves Rome.
My biggest combine question is who would have a faster 40, Brett or EJ? I can reasonably say EJ runs a 4.4, but this past season of CJ Stroud will motivate Brett to win with a BLAZING 4.3.
Tell ej the bears are drafting Spencer rattler #1 and you’ll see him run a 3 second 40 straight to their office
@@j.r.3945 the only way Brett would beat that time is if the Texans proposed trading CJ Stroud for a 7th round pick and a bottle of scotch. Instant 1 second 40 straight to the their office where’d he’d find Jack Easterby and BOB mind controlling everyone.
@@michaelicious 🤣🤣🤣
I'm setting my time at 7.89, and betting the over to make money. My ankle is made out of titanium and tuna fish these days. When I was 17 I ran 4.7... but that is a looooooong time ago now.
Brett would probably be too drunk to run
I’m unreasonably excited for the Daniel Jeremiah episode coming up… love him and you guys!
This WR class is bloody insane. It’s definitely gonna tie the 2004 class for most drafted in the first round.
LFG BOOTLEG IS HERE
So happy you guys got the combine experience - been watching/listening for years, well deserved. Looking forward to the years of combine coverage for years to come
My perfect Raiders draft is JJ, Fiske, Bortolini. Glad to see you guys showcase all of them.
The best early morning content i could ask for.
Get the boys from the nfl stock exchange on the pod
We'll be doing our combo mock draft with the lads again this year (talked to both Trevor and Connor in Indy), but I'm not sure we'll have time/space for a "home-and-home" series before the draft.
Ryan Poles master class with the Jalen Johnson contract
It's not that bad for Jaylon either. He got 43.8 million at signing and gets back on the market at age 28. All with $19 average yearly value.
15.2 mil per interception for a player who never finished a full season. How could it possibly go wrong.
@@lucrative6477 Idk man, getting JJ as only the 7th highest paid cornerback per year. The highest PFF graded Cornerback who allowed the least yards and lowest passer rating when targeted last year. Great move imo
@@maxbazan1218 2nd highest paid as far as guaranteed money, only behind jaire (who also seems like a bad contract atm). I also would take pff rankings with a big grain of salt. They also said fields was better than Purdy last year.
@@lucrative6477 Okay. Lowest passer rating allowed and fewest yards allowed then. And Jaires looks bad because he has regressed. As is true with any contract. JJ has only gotten better and is only 24
stacked lineup you guys got comming, pumped to get to hear those episodes
Really excited for the slate this year. #Elite
Great lineup!
On Wisconsin! Good for Tanor
I feel so vindicated. I was at Louisville vs Duke, and it was a blowout, but I definitely picked up on Guerendo. He had an NFL body, power, and serious speed. When I heard from you that he transferred from Wisconsin and backed up JT, that sealed the deal for me lol
Mina Kimes!!!!!!!!! Excited for all the guests!
Would love to see another collab with the Stock Exchange boys. Also one with Rick Spielman and Ryan Wilson would be awesome.
Im in the Rome camp as well.
Looking forward to the episode with Brandon Thorn! I would love to hear his opinion on some of my favorite OL prospects: Amarius Mims, Jackson Powers-Johnson, Tanor Bortolini and Cooper Beebe.
He talked with Duke on his yt channel for a little about Mims specifically. Says he’s higher on him than most.
EJ and Brett I have a few questions for you.
First, every year there seems to be a QB who looks to be drafted early and then they fall, who is that QB this year?
Second, with the trend of lighter CBs and Larger but fast WRs, which team will build a basketball team at receiver to take advantage of these undersized secondaries?
Last, are we ever going to have another good LB class, like what we see at WR and Tackle? Related, after hearing several times you, and others, have mentioned that college isn't really playing many traditional LBs, will that cause a demand to rise or at least a change in philosophy because those players just don't exist anymore?
Love that Mina is coming back!
Mina is our queen
Us too!
Fiske is going to be in the league a long time
Good memes at the beginning 🤣
As soon as Brett started talking about Fautanu, I started looking up how his measurables and numbers matched up with Rashawn Slater just for him to bring his name up like 30 seconds later 😂 I wasn't too high on Fautanu coming into the combine with how deep this tackle class is, but with how special he looked in the drills, Slater is such an easy comp for him.
I haven’t had a chance to watch yet cause i been flying all day, but what did you think of brennan jackson from wazzu?
Excited for Jordan Reed and Mina Kimes returning to the pod
Angels envy is pretty smooth
Next year you guys gotta have Klatt in that lineup
I'm Dam Proud too EJ! Go Beavs!!!!
You should bring on the guys from NFLSE…Trevor SIKKEMA and Connor J Rogers
44:30 had me dying
I'm somewhat surprised to not see Utah safety Cole Bishop here
Best NFL event? Better than any game? Did not expect that 😮
Good Christ….get into it…we get it, y’all had a great time…blah blah blah…sounds like a really ‘rough’ experience…we should all be so fortunate!😮🎉❤
Don't be surprised when fautanu is first takle off the board
Did they talk about Worthy? Don’t see any timestamp for him in the description.
If Rome odunze is that good, but the wr class is that deep; should the giants at 6 pick Rome or try to trade down / take a dif position (tackle or qb) and pick a wr later? Curious about your opinion.
44:40 A simulated Bears mock offseason? You got my attention there...
The biggest combine standout to me was Katt Williams
Blazing speed
I want Nate Wiggins on the Rams
Fellas, if we’re going to take 24 minutes to get to the actual content please put time stamps in
Fuckkkk ya. This and underdog are the only 4 draft coverage i can handle. Cause they just have fun with it. Other coverage takes this stuff way too seriously!
??? Is Culp UW TE that you mentioned a UDFA or is that someone you must draft?
I'll find out when I dig back in and do a full study. Certainy saw him in more than few games (bc I live 25 minutes from UW) but need to go back and focus (not get distracted by Penix, Fautanu, Rome, Polk, McMillan, etc.) Tall order.
@ejsnyder5734 I think pff had him as a top 5 run blocker on the season or near it. That, combined with his athleticism, could push him into the end of the draft.
yall should try and get steve smith to talk about wrs
Grossi's 40 might be a little high, but hes gonna be an elite NFL talent. In... some capacity. lol combine standout
imagine if Max Melton falls to the 7th like his brother Bo
Oh my god you just reminded me of chat pranking Brett saying Bo go drafted like round 2 or smth, one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on this show
Troy Fautanu feels like he went from mid 2nd maybe third round prospect to maybe OT2 from what I keep hearing. I'm very intrigued ✈️
Dude went from late first to mid first.
@@RunescapewithredCould have swore I saw early mock drafts with him going in the 2nd to 3rd range 🤷🏾♂️
Love the pod , long time subscriber. Per usual great content, great collaboration, great ideas.
Jaylon Johnson didn’t really set the market at all though. 76 potential.. 54 through base
Smart deal by bears but was pretty light
First of all
How dare you
Don’t question Brett and EJs wisdom
@@sealtrain8252 I’m not questioning their wisdom I’m shocked as I imagine they may be at the deal . 19 mil is kinda the ranging they exampled as the current , again shocked Johnson didn’t push it 23-26
Seems weird to put Rome over Nabers because of an event that Nabers didn't participate in
Who do you guys think were the biggest LOSERS? In no particular order, My 5 would be:
1. Bralen Trice (DE)
2. Leonard Taylor III (DT)
3. Troy Franklin (WR)
4. Kalen King (CB)
5. Kam Kinchens (S)
Austin Booker turned out to be a fugazi. He was supposed to put up “stupid” numbers. Instead they were incredibly mediocre for 239 pounds. I like some of the stuff I saw on tape but he was always a day 3 developmental type to me that people were hyping into being a 2nd round pick.
I still don't get the Odunze>Nabers hype. Nabers would be the clear WR1 in every class of the last 6 years sans 2021 w Ja'marr Chase. Odunze's combine numbers were good but not mind-boggling. Nabers is faster, a better route runner, and just overall projects to a decently higher ceiling than Odunze
I was very bummed that Nabers didn’t work out at the combine. He would’ve blown the roof off. He’s my WR1.
Combine bias
They haven’t seen him work out yet so obviously they’ve seen Rome and how smooth he looks OMG 6’3 receiver that can do it all! Recency bias is all it is. Also seen concerns that Malik is gonna measure shorter that 6’ but idc he is my wr 1. Can’t teach his acceleration and after the catch ability
I get the Odunze hype. Smooth 6’3 with a huge catch radius and ran a good time for his size
Larry Fitz!
@@sealtrain8252 Oh yeah. Absolutely nothing overrated about Odunze. He’s gonna be phenomenal.
I'd love JJ McCarthy to come to DEN. Thoughts?
Yeah, please take him! Haha😂🎉❤
My top 5 are guys similar to you ish:
Really like kyhree Jackson, I think fiske COULD maybe go in the first actually, I really like Cedric Gray LB unc very instinctual player with ball skills, and a guy people don’t talk about enough is Muhammad Kamara
Does that mean Nabers might drop to the bears?
As a Lion's Fan, I am relieved that there is very little chance he is going to be a Bear. I am afraid of him in the NFC north.
Rome, that is.
@@Jdmerrill1986 Keep in mind that we control the draft. If we really want him, well get him
@@FR-nc3vb I am well aware lol
@@FR-nc3vbdon’t worry your team will still suck 😂
Well they definitely filmed this before the tag deadline Bc he got less then the tag lol
Good luck to your Bears guys, not so much for the Texans ;)
I cant believe Johnson settled for 19m per year... Sneed is probably NOT happy about that lol because hes 2 years older than Johnson, and I know he was shooting for closer to Denzel Ward or Jaire Alexander
56:28 WHAT THE FUCK?
New opinion just dropped
Chiefs getting ladd and xavier
People focused so much on Tanor Bortolini's poor snapping this year, myself included, but he was always a solid all around IOL. If he can clean up his snapping he could be a hell of a steal.
It was atrocious but he’s a guard n NOT a center. UW fan here…not a fan of Bortolini as a C caused he got mauled all yr…he was NOT a good C…he sucked as a C but his forte was n is as a Guard!
JJ MCCARTHY IS BY FAR NUMBER 1 yall
I love Rome, but he’s clearly WR3 based off his tape. I don’t care about fucking cone drills.
9:44 must be nice sounds like college, for everybody let their hair hang out interesting but I guess I guess really it’s not expected
Bortoloni just sounds like he’s going to be a packer and I don’t like that
Perfect example of Bill Burr’s spiel about the utter ridiculousness of what the NFL has become…20’ in n these guys still stroking ea other…ugh! PhMB😂😅
Combine results have become massively overrated by access-journalists.
