Very rare to find coaches like Parcells. Tough, but he wants the best for you. Not only teaching guys to play smart, but teaching guys to become and remain smart men AFTER football. You know a man is a great coach when the lessons he teach, can be used on and off the field.
Coach Parcells is my all time favorite. He has that same East Rutherford accent my grandmother had. That and his very "matter-of-fact" poignancy and wisdom really won me over, inspired me and impacted me a great deal over the years. I really miss seeing him coach and hearing his input on football and life matters. What a great man.
Ishmael Darjean yes sir all great winners too. Belichek and Payton Super bowl winners and then there’s Saban. He had a way of running things that wouldn’t work now. I loved watching his teams play. I remember one specific game where they upset the 49 era to make it to the super bowl. Just ran time off of the clock like pulling teeth. I think they had 4 drives of over 8 minutes. Wow.
One of his gifts was knowing which players he *had* to take shit from and which ones he didn't. Belichick tells a story about how early in his career, LT kept showing up late for meetings. When he went to Parcells to ask how to handle the situation, Parcells replied, "Why are you starting your meetings so early?"
Parcells was really a better teacher than a head coach. Given that he won two SBs and made a Championship with the no-hoper Jets that is a high compliment. Belichick, Coughlin, Payton, Lynn they all learned a lot from Parcells and its shows. Payton still refers to him as Coach Parcells.
In the 30 For 30 with Bellichick, Bellickick pointed out that what made them two works so well was the balance between Bellichick being very detail-oriented and even obsessive, and Parcells being more about the big-picture. I think this interview is another good example of that.
Yes indeed so true! I always liked coach Parcells, no sugar coat. Belichick and Parcells finally got interviewed together in 30for30 The Two Bills. Really do see Belichick look up to Parcells
Love that your commenting and showing praise with that comment. Ur a class act Colin and that’s why I’m a huge fan. I listen to your show daily going back to your ESPN days and I read your book. HerdHead since day 1ish
He took over the 1-15 Jets, and immediately turned them around. We went from 1-15, to missing the playoffs by 1 game in his first year. In his second season, we were in the AFC Championship Game. He turned it around so quickly that if Ray Lucas didn't throw that 4th quarter interception in the end zone in the last game of the season, we would have gone from 1-15 to 10-6 and a playoff spot in one freaking year. What a great coach. And I didn't even mention what he did with the Giants. And how he took the Patriots to the Super Bowl.
The best Giant H.C. ever...I would call and talk to him years ago on Monday night on the 'Bill Parcells report' from Gallagher's Steakhouse in Manhattan...
I can definitely see why some of his former coaches and players would call him on father's day. He helped build them as men. I have a great affection and respect for him even though I am a Washington football team fan. If you couldn't play for the Tuna you couldn't play. He was the patron saint of those who were misunderstood and some that didn't know how to grow and improve their talent. One of greatest coaches ever.
Parcells is the greatest teacher to be an NFL coach. All the success from various coaching trees tells a lot about the one who is at the base/trunk of that tree. Parcells taught much more than X’s and O’s, he taught lessons about life above all else.
That's awesome. I like how Parcells says *a dozen* men he's coached or hired call him on Father's Day. *Decades* later. Reminds me a lot of Jim Kelly's and Brett Favre's HOF speeches, how they gave thanks to so many people who were responsible for their inductions. .
Football royalty right here. The Giants Patriots and especially Jets were horrific when he look over, and Dallas wasn't so great either. Turned them all around quickly and left them better than they were when he got there. And Tom Coughlin is often left of the coaching tree mentions. Shouldn't be. Great coach.
We appreciate our "dennis the menace" coach in the big easy lol 🤣🤣😂😂👍👍!! Hilarious!! Thanks for giving sean payton the opportunity to coach TWICE & eventually becoming our coach BIG TUNA!! #COACH PARCELLS #LEGEND #WHO DAT
My Giants were incredibly fortunate to have Bill Parcells. God knows we went through hell before Bill took the reins. I only wish they had let him shop for the groceries at the end so he could have stayed a few more years.
Absolute legend 👏 one of the greatest no doubt about that I've just finished his book easily the best most insightful honest sports book I've ever read 👌
I seen Sean's playbook. 3 inches thick. What the?!!! I looked at this thing 4-1, 2-1 3-2, 5-0, 54, 64, 33, and all these numbers have 20 plays. But there even more than that.
Parcells won 2 Super Bowls, Payton 1, Caughlin2, and of course Belichik 6. That’s 11 Super Bowls he had his mark on. I don’t think anyone else can say that🤔
Parcells' coaching tree might be one of the most potent ever... Belichick, Coughlin and Payton. Second only to Jim Lee Howell.. who's tree had Landry and Lombardi.
DAMMIT BILL... YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM UP FRONT, THAT YOU WAS QUITTING DALLAS NEXT YEAR... "STAY HERE AND TAKE MY JOB HERE".. DAMMIT BILL DAMMIT DAMN DAMN DAMN
Coughlin Belichick Payton Zimmer et al. All learned under Parcells all became high level Head Coaches. Parcells was obviously a great mentor and probably he was better at this than actual coaching.
Parcells won every where and he rebuilt teams. Giants were a disaster and he built them into a power and and a champion. Paatriots he totlally rebuilt and got them to the superbowl by the time Belichick took over Parcells foundation there was still in place. He totally rebuilt the Jets and got them to a conference championship after only a year or two removed from a 1-15 team. and the Cowboys were mired in 3 consectutive 5-11 seasons and he turned them immediatly around to playoffs first season and 3 winning seasons in 4 years and it was his team that Wade Philips took over that went 13-3 in his first season. now many other winning NFL coaches went to other teams and had no success. Parcells always had success.
He didn't learn from all his mistakes lol thats about a hard headed sob sometimes lol that using the fullback in short yardage drove me crazy, it rarely worked but he never gave up on it lol taking drew out the game for taysom hill is something else that drove me nuts as well lol taysom is an absolute weapon no doubt about it but i didn't like taking the ball out of the first ballot hof quarterbacks hands , he can be arrogant but its probably what makes him so damn good at what he does
Parcells was a genius at letting his players know who the boss was, while also letting his players know he really cared about them.
Perfect chemistry
Very rare to find coaches like Parcells. Tough, but he wants the best for you. Not only teaching guys to play smart, but teaching guys to become and remain smart men AFTER football. You know a man is a great coach when the lessons he teach, can be used on and off the field.
And brutally honest with a sharp wit. They don’t make ‘em like Parcells anymore.
You can sense his pride in Sean and all the coaches and players he worked with. A great NFL legend.
Coach Parcells is my all time favorite. He has that same East Rutherford accent my grandmother had. That and his very "matter-of-fact" poignancy and wisdom really won me over, inspired me and impacted me a great deal over the years. Mr. Parcells! Lot of great coaches come from this great coach.
Best presser, best coach ever
Ishmael Darjean yes sir all great winners too. Belichek and Payton Super bowl winners and then there’s Saban. He had a way of running things that wouldn’t work now. I loved watching his teams play. Loud mouth Fuck, who couldn't beat Favre, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Wichita State baby!

The true GOAT. He trained Belichik and Sean Payton.Enough said.
And LT
Honestly, Bellichik trained Saban just as much in his times with the Browns
Vince Lombardi, Mike Ditka, Bill Walsh?
He was so fkn special!!
#LEGEND
I like a person who is both punctual and on time.
This man is an absolute legend!

Lmao. Ok Coach!
. . . and the Tuna is one hell of a coach!!
In the 30 For 30 with Bellichick, Bellickick pointed out that what made them two works so well was the balance between Bellichick being very detail-oriented and even obsessive, and Parcells being more about the big-picture. I think this interview is another good example of that.
This interview was well done, letting the tuna speak without interruption, great questions, thanks for the content!
I agree
Great interview with the Big Tuna ! Parcells has a lot to be proud of when it comes his "coaching tree" of previous assistant coaches
Colin Cowherd FS1 Hell yeah bill belicheck
Yes indeed so true! I always liked coach Parcells, no sugar coat. Belichick and Parcells finally got interviewed together in 30for30 The Two Bills. Really do see Belichick look up to Parcells

These years right here that was mentioned I guarantee was Peyton's most informative years they made him the caliber coach he is today.

My oldest teammate Sean, God Bless him...Proud of him.
I wish I was good enough to have played for Bill Parcells … What a man.
Parcells is the greatest teacher to be an NFL coach. All the success from various coaching trees tells a lot about the one who is at the base/trunk of that tree. Parcells taught much more than X’s and O’s, he taught lessons about life above all else.
Bill Parcells-a great coach!!
Mr Parcells is a legend!
Listening to Bill talking about his associates now.....I like him......
The greatest coach I ever saw.No bullshit
Parcells, NFL Royalty...
That's awesome. I like how Parcells says *a dozen* men he's coached or hired call him on Father's Day. *Decades* later. Reminds me a lot of Jim Kelly's and Brett Favre's HOF speeches, how they gave thanks to so many people who were responsible for their inductions. .
Bill is my all time favorite
I love parcells
Many players and coaches should be very greatful , to have been taught by the great Bill Parcell, Excellent teacher & person God bless him!
Kinda of funny how belichick and parcels disliked each other.
Legendary coach! Respect
Parcells and Taylor fit together like a hand and glove.
shid i wish i would call bill parcels on father's day my favorite coach ever..
Great teacher, leader with a good no nonsense attitude.
Bill is a great interview.
There's no bullshit with him... no fat, no sugar coating. Gotta love him.
NFL legend.

Upper management usually ruins great coaches by handcuffing them. I agree with your statement
Bills a legend as a coach, and I'm not a fan of any team he's coached. But thanks for Payton who dat...
Sean Payton is an elite coach in the NFL shit he won a Superbowl with the saints that's a good coach
Looking good In that black n gold.
One of the best qualities of Parcells is hiring great assistants.
Legend
Best coach ever.
Legend!
Well versed man.
Parcells has the best coaching tree
I'm a Seahawks fan but always rooted for whatever team Parcells was coaching.
Nice interview, well done.
Absolute legend 👏 one of the greatest no doubt about that I've just finished his book easily the best most insightful honest sports book I've ever read 👌
I remember when he and Ralph reagon from Maryland before John Gruden almost became bucs coach.... John clayton type info
Anybody wish he had a sitcom where he played like a high school chemistry teacher and molded them into machines? Haha.
If a waterboy came from Parcells I'd take him as a head coach . The Parcells coaching tree was amazing
The real G.O.A.T
He Had terrible teams turned them into winning team's
FOUR TIMES!!!!!! OUT OF FOUR!!!
Belicheat is one for two.
Hes a great story teller you'd never get this out of him when he was coaching..Watch him talk about Mr Irrelevant John Tuggle
I'd pay top dollar for a boxing match between Parcells and Jerry Jones
The GOAT
Man I remember when he was the coach, this man was a leader and not nice about it lol
1:49 does parcells have teeth behind his teeth??
Bill parcels needs to coach again
He’s in his mid 70’s
eric sigersmith man the tuna is chillin with the dolphins.
Did Graham not have any other Parcells videos?
If only he could have taken over in Dallas!
I seen Sean's playbook. 3 inches thick. What the?!!! I looked at this thing 4-1, 2-1 3-2, 5-0, 54, 64, 33, and all these numbers have 20 plays. But there even more than that.
Almost won us our first super bowl in 96!
96? Parcels?
Almost sorry misread
The Big Tuna
Best coach ever..the big tuna
Well, I guess their meeting in 2006 in Dallas proved Peyton was right about "more is better." The Saints handed the Cowboys their ass to them.
LMAO. Thanks coach!!!
"sugar rush" 😉🤣🤣
The onside kick in the 2nd half of the super bowl was something parcells would of done
Tuna!!!!
Ben freaking Grahamsinger
Parcells won 2 Super Bowls, Payton 1, Caughlin2, and of course Belichik 6. That’s 11 Super Bowls he had his mark on. I don’t think anyone else can say that🤔
Here he is. Quite simply, God.
BILL BILL BILL BILL
Parcells' coaching tree might be one of the most potent ever... Belichick, Coughlin and Payton. Second only to Jim Lee Howell.. who's tree had Landry and Lombardi.
Bill was not just a great coach but a great teacher. We see Andy Reid doing the same thing even though he has not had the superbowl wins.
LMAO. Ok Coach!
He was a great coach but a better man
DAMMIT BILL... YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM UP FRONT, THAT YOU WAS QUITTING DALLAS NEXT YEAR... "STAY HERE AND TAKE MY JOB HERE".. DAMMIT BILL DAMMIT DAMN DAMN DAMN
he's only been a decent coach because of Brees
WHO DAT!
Both Brees and Payton are great but the combination is legendary. Who dat!!!
Mike Lawry
Yeah............like Sean Payton was really gonna take a job working for a puppet master like Jerry Jones!!
MIKE LAWRY hahaha sorry Mike. Y’all did miss out but as a lifelong Saints fan I’m glad. The Cowboys will be fine in the long run though. Who Dat! 😁
No one even knows who Dennis the Menace is anymore
He's new york
...hope he’s doing ok. He doesn’t look so good here. Coaching legend.
He looks older. Still looks fine though.
I am like Dennis the minutes always getting in trouble lol James Stacey Robinson Dallas Cowboys. Just don't kill me a football practice.20032020
Coughlin Belichick Payton Zimmer et al. All learned under Parcells all became high level Head Coaches. Parcells was obviously a great mentor and probably he was better at this than actual coaching.
You see Payton more is better philosophy as Saints head coach.. we keep a litany of weapons..
I think Payton is enjoying this season so much because he has the weapons to do that.
booyah booyah like who ? Kamara and Thomas is a lot of weapons ?
@@sallynicholls5502 NO SUPER BOWL FOR YOU.
Bill is the better coach.
They got robbed last year. With brees out I hope they.ll v
Be ok.
I love parcels but the biggest shit he took on the Giants is teaching Jerry how to draft and put a team together...smh.
Joe Torre number 2

No, Payton is more like Ralphie from A Christmas Story.
Bill Parcells was an authoritative tactician who ruled by fear, intimidation, and accountability
benny robinson and was successful because of it
benny robinson Lombardi 2.0.
So did Ditka. So did Jimmy Johnson. Common factor = Super Bowl wins.
50 pass plays? WTF
Moar Parcells.
Vicodin is one hellva of drug.
Graham Bensinger is kind of creepy.
Bensinger so weak.
Saints vs Cowboys ... Bill retired after the game.. Bill is over rated..
Parcells last game was in the playoffs vs Seattle
He never been to a Super bowl without Bill Belichick.
That's a excellent point
One of the most racist coaches
